This gentleman is different than most tutorial people. Most seem to be doing the tutorials for some sort of compensation. But Mr. Kenny is a genuine tutor, what strikes me the most is his patience, and thorough explanation. Job well done.
DUDE...WTF!!!! Been online for couple hours looking around for a tshirt printing 101 and then suddenly boom your video showed up on my feed and you showed me how to in 20 min. Apparently youtube algorithm is favoring people pushing selling shit and not an OG-how-to-101 freaking tutorial like this video! You've my subscription.
I just found your videos. Enjoyed it very much. I appreciate the lack of cussing and screaming. So many times the creators have to cuss and scream glad I didn't find any here. I'm going to check out you other videos. Thanks for a quality video and very informative..

That was a nice presentation my brother, I'm a newbie & interested in getting my own heat press etc. I definitely appreciate how you show step by step keep up the great work bro 💯💯💯
@@diywithkenny8399 thanks my brother btw: maybe I missed something but can you show what kind of transfer or what process is needed once you get started.
If you are doing sublimation: Polyester garments (white & light colors), A-Sub paper for designs (mirrored on computer), Butcher paper, and heat press. If you doing heat transfer paper: Any color Cotton garments. PPD (might be other products out there, check Heat Press Nation), Jet ink for designs (not mirrored), parliment paper (should come with heat transfer paper), heat press.

The only thing I can say about this paper and I don’t understand why it did this, but I made an apron with image. The apron is 100% polyester, but the apron is red, RED RED! The paper printed out really well and beautiful colors. But once I printed it on the apron, all the images turned red! I wish I could show you on here. I have like 20 pictures on it. So now I’m gonna try it again on a white 100% polyester to see what happens. I’m sure it will be fine this time. But just wanted to warn you about this paper and the color red. I did follow directions.
@@diywithkenny8399 , one other thing I wanted to add to that. The odd thing about it is, I also put an image on a red potholder to match. It came out perfect! I don’t know what the potholder is made of though. I got the potholder from Walmart. It has 2 pockets on the front for you fingers to go into. So yes it is a trial and errors. But I love doing all this stuff!
a year later- what happened was color migration, the red ink from the apron sublimated into the transfer. the only way i know of to fix that is to use a blocker layer inbetween the apron and the transfer to keep the ink from going thru the printed side- i learned this the same way, and used what i had laying around to figure it out, i pressed chrome htv first as a blocker layer and then pressed the heat transfer over and it worked. the red didnt bleed through
So you use the white paper and brown paper to press. Hmmmm. I just purchased my 8 in 1, and my images are fading. Do you think using your procedure will help stop the fading?
*UPDATE*: 385 Degrees For 30 Seconds Firm Pressure Heat Press. After 1st press, leave Silicon Paper on for 30 seconds, and then peel. 2nd Press with Silicone Paper 10 to 15secs. *
God bless my bro 👊🏽 ... How do I stop the black ink from fading to brown?? It prints beautiful... but a little bit of time will pass and the black ink turns brownish orange 😡... I'm wasting shirts bro lol! Have you ran into this issue?
Are you supposed to mirror when doing sublimation? Also when choosing print colors I always get great results using the RBD not vivid print color! I’ve tried both and found much more vibrant colors. This is a great video I’m glad to see someone is testing sublimation on this paper
Hello. Experiment in tgis video, someone in comments mention better value tacking down PPD. then use the sublimation paper with design and heat press it that way (kinda like the glitter vinyl).
this is not DTF direct to film cuz we do not see the film or the powder. Is this called sublimation PPD? Poscript Page Description. What about the ink? is it a regular office ink jet printer that comes with its regular ink? or do you need a special ink. On this type of printing I keep on seeing they cut the edges that is white, why is that? and lastly, aside the home iron, can you use a heat press preset to a certain temperature??
How are Iam trying to make my shirt design and ain’t come out right I am doing every it say to do and Iam I want if u can guide me if is please . Iam use easy to peel off transfer paper
Hey I love what you did. I’m just a little confused. I’m starting out and looking at a lot of videos. So I started out using the PPD paper first and I love it! The feel is like it’s baked into the shirt. Doesn’t feel like vinyl at all I guess because it isn’t. But the confusion is the title of this video is SUBLIMATION. Where does the sublimation come into this? Did I miss something? I’m trying to learn about sublimation and that is why I clicked on this. Somebody help me please. Lol
No did not miss anything, was testing sublimation ink on this product. So my journey on this is ok, testing regular jet-ink. Have not done a comparison video yet. But the printer jet-ink looking lot more finished. Thats after my adjustments that is on my pin comments.
hello sir! I've been using the dark transfer paper with sublimation ink and was wondering if that's ok? also my images tend to blur after a few weeks and can't figure out why? would greatly appreciate any input
That one little tough, I use cameo. But check this video out (had to research a bit lol): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tYOB9FHu-T0.html
I am a new subscriber and thank you very much you have been helping me out now I am trying to find out how did you do your cartoon? Or is it a software that I need?
I have an 8550 ET and I keep getting about a half inch line across the bottom of my prints. Almost as if the print head is putting down a extra layer of ink. Does anyone know why??
Hello Kenny, Thank you so much for this tutorial. I used the easy subli and boy did I waste so many sheets because of smudge. I felt so defeated not to mention the cost. I will try this product.
Hey also wanted to share, Print Borderless video I did review and wash test on the Heat Transfer Paper PPD. New video print & cut using same product. Yes I have EasiSubli too, and not a big fan of it lol. Let me know how it goes.
You should have had great results with easy subli. I’m not sure what you did wrong but you need to use sublimation ink not ink it’s not for ink jet printer.
@@FLYNIQ Hello Nkechi. Thank you. I did use sublimation ink. In fact I have 2 sublimation printers, 2 ink jet printers and a laser printer . I followed the directions according to easy subli. This product isn't for me.
The direction for this Heat Transfer Paper is to use regular ink from any jet ink printer, but for this I tried the dye sublimation.. not so sure how regular printer ink vs sublimation ink. Only the heat press directions are different as you can see my updated pin comment (sublimation ink).
*UPDATE*: 385 Degrees For 30 Seconds Firm Pressure Heat Press. After 1st press, leave Silicon Paper on for 30 seconds, and then peel. 2nd Press with Silicone Paper 10 to 15secs. *
Hey Thanks. If you are on a budget Tusy from amazon good. Check these sites in google: Swing Designs, Heat Press Nation, Heat Transfer Warehouse for heat press and other stuff.
I hav a few questions if I'm using a cricut easy heat press 2 what temperature should I use and for he how Long? I did a few projects and they come out looking as expected but after the first wash it wrinkles and kind of lifts off the shirt why?? please help!!!!thanks in advance
Hey. I have WF-7840 & EcoTank 3760. Difference is WF can print 8.5x11", 11x17", and 13x19" vs ET 3760 8.5x11" Now there is a Ecotank 15000 that does same as WF 7840. Depends your budget.
WF 7840/7820 estimate $300 print all paper sizes, EcoTank 15000 estimate $600 print all paper sizes. Then there other models that will be different and prices goes down. Add also the EcoTank easier to convert to sublimation.
Final note, did some quick search.. ET-15000 would be my personal choice (just need ink), but WF 7840 or 7820 can still be good and at cheaper price (but will have to change chips, get refill cartridges, get ink, and will have to get more chips UNTIL they make chips dont have to change). My 2cents. hope that helps.
Lol more than welcome to try, but test on older shirt, more durable with the regular way, I have tested many times. Just will not last after a handful of washes.
*UPDATE*: 385 Degrees For 30 Seconds Firm Pressure Heat Press. After 1st press, leave Silicon Paper on for 30 seconds, and then peel. 2nd Press with Silicone Paper 10 to 15secs. *
i did the same steps comes out clean but after first wash whole image has a bunch of cracks what em i doing wrong? im using ppd transfer paper and hp printer photosmart 7520. and heat press at 375 for 12 seconds...
Hello and hmmm. Sublimation or Regular ink? I noticed in a the instructions is to leave the white silicone paper on there for 30secs (teflon sheet ontop to help hold down), then peel. Try that. Now there a comment from someone they lay down the ppd, and use sublimation paper and heat press onto that way. Now I have tried regular jetink and have last 10 washes no cracks.
Ok. After 1st press, just leave white silicone paper on it for 30secs, if you have teflon sheet use that too. I would 2nd press again exact same way. Make sure you have the heat press firm pressure. Try that on a old shirt and wash same amount to see results
Hello. My honest opinion on sublimation for the PPD product, better off using regular jetink. Only way it will work for sublimation is to tack down the ppd on garment, the. use your sublimation print paper (+design/image printed on A-Sub or whatever), then heat press it 390 to 400 degrees, 45 seconds more or less. All depends on your equipment. Lot of extra steps FYI. Hope that can answer it all.
For this PPD product, you can use regular jet ink that your printer has, was just answering the question how it was read lol. Just wanted to add, Cosmo Ink is pretty good sublimation ink is what I use now. But can buy from anywhere.. cheaper route would be through Amazom.
I am trying to do a shirt this way but I'm having trouble with the border part. It shows a border but it's up in the left hand corner and there is no option to expand it. Also when I got to print it only half the whole first image but the second image is cut of. It's only half of it. What am I doing wrong?
Adding: when you click the print preferences, first tab under selection here paper goes (paper tray, cassette 1, ...) there option borderless, needs to be checked, to help expand
@@diywithkenny8399 Ok. I did exactly the steps in your video. When I go to silhouette it has the border like yours but it's up in the left hand corner not corner to corner like yours. The border won't stretch to all four sides. When I hit the preview button it's only showing 1 picture and half of the other. It's not showing both pictures like yours in the preview.
This method, not so good after handful of washes. Saw another comment someone used sublimation paper on top of PPD paper (like glitter vinyl). Did the regular jet-ink way, so far upholding 7 washes. Still tweaking it.
Heat Transfer Paper - printing a design onto a sheet of heat transfer paper using an inkjet or laser printer. Then heat press onto any cotton color garment. Sublimation Paper - print design using sublimation ink. Then heat press is to polyester garment (white and light colors only, polyester blends 50% and up). 100% polyester best results.
Helppppp!!! 🆘🆘🆘Ok I am trying this method and my cover sheet keeps sticking to the image when I lift the heat press. I mean it's completely stuck to the shirt. The colors are there but my image just turns into a giant two side sticker.
You may have too much pressure on your heat press, should be a knob that you can turn; turn clockwise more pressure. turn counter- clockwise less pressure.. should be able to adjust when top plate lifted, can adjust off so just lay a shirt down, loosen pressure, then you can see from there.. may have to adjust a few times but not so tight where you have it now.
I made a shirt and after a day it faded on its own. I put it back under the press again and the colors got bright and vivid and in a day dull again. I used sublimation ink... Am I missing something??
Did you try these settings? 385 Degrees For 30 Seconds Firm Pressure Heat Press. After 1st press, leave Silicon Paper on for 30 seconds, and then peel. 2nd Press with Silicone Paper 10 to 15secs. * Working on regular jetink, testing washes. Seems to work a lot better.
I have made shirts using my inkjet printer and the shirts gets washed regularly and never had any fading. I’m amazed how well my tiny birds stayed on the shirt I made for my husband. It’s a life is good design and has 25 tiny birds in the background and it’s been washed over 50xs and still as nice as the first day I made it. Sublimation is completely different and I doubt it will last, your supposed to mirror yr imagine and apply it to the material, this stays on the paper so it’s not gonna last as long
Can be a few minor things, have you calibrated your colors, have you done amy print head cleans to bring back the colors (may have to do this a few times).
Hello Kenny, Do you run two printers? Just wondering how you’re able to print with sublimation ink for this video but now you are saying in the replies to comments you will print with regular ink jet ink moving forward because you see better results with this method of transfer. Just curious, I have one printer and am trying to develop a way to sublimate onto dark cotton blanks other than bleaching my area beforehand or using sub-spray.
Hello. At that moment of the video, yes the sublimation was good. After few washes, tenf to fade. IF you wanted sublimation, will have to tack down the heat transfer paper, print design on sublimation paper, the. heat press it down. The regular way it was intended with regular jetink, which i have done.
