I've been thinking about this idea for ten years...with an app so that you can turn on the lunch box remotely. The thing that scared me most was the prospect of being blamed for starting a fire somewhere, where you turned on the box remotely and it malfunctioned. Or - another possibility was laws pertaining to heating devices carried in bags etc., say on a train or bus. It obviously uses a heating element and batteries and that scared me..not because I thought it wasn't feasable, but because I just dreaded the prospect of my wonderful lunch box being in the news for the wrong reason. 'Fire was found to have been caused by faulty self-heating lunch box'. Now if you make it so that you have to have the lunch box in eyesight of you and that you control the heating in live time as it were, it is still cool, but not nearly as cool as being able to heat it remotely, say like in your office or car while you are attending to things in another place, or even for heating up breakfast in another room whilst you are sleeping. And I don't wanna sit around staring at the thing while it heats up..I am hungry and it is lunchtime!

THIS! As a flight attendant, it’s hard to eat healthy when you’re on a plane all day. Most FAs have a hot logic, but you can’t heat up food on my airline’s planes since there’s no plug, and sometimes by the time you land, there’s not enough time to go and find an outlet to heat your food up. And then, sometimes we stay at the nicest hotels, but they don’t include fridges or microwaves in the rooms. You have to walk far, far away to find a microwave. So if you want a hot meal, you basically have to spend $15+ each time. If you market this toward flight attendants you will DEFINITELY make some money! But now, we don’t need a fancy Schancy app and stuff, because it might not even work up in the air for some of us, maybe a simpler concept at a lower price point would be better!

Doesn’t give you any useful info. For example-how hot does it get? How long does it take to get that hot? Will it defrost something? How much water does it need? How much food will it hold?

This product is not marketed well at all. The market for this will be college kids, outdoor workers , and possible truck drivers. Idk why it would 200 dollars when its made from bamboo.

it is a stupid idea. First ppl with lunch box would want to microwave it sometime and the electronic in side fucks it up. 2ndly, lunch box needs to be roomy and small. This thing‘s outter layer is too thick 3rdly, Lunch box that expensive doesnt even have space dividing. If u are designing for lifestyle and high end living, you have to know ppl like little space manement to their food so they dont have to taste food that mix tastes with others!!!! 4thly, ppl hate dish washing!. the big box has button and shit is impossible to be put inside of a dish washer. Plus the 2 layers cover also force user to clean with extra step even by hand. 5thly, it is no convinent to eat outside with this lunchbox because user have to remove too many coveres. The rubber seal and the cover in seperated format is over complex. also you have great chance to contaiminate the food if the thin and light cover is not handled carefully overall, the design should not include electronics in side which make everything over complex and indroduce new challenges to the users
