In this video we will be installing laticrete heated floor system. The installation process is identical to ditra heat or ditra-heat heated flooring systems. Our bathroom renovation is on a slab and those get very cold! No amount of heating can warm up a slab. If you want your toes to be warm you need to install a heated floor.
if you follow few on my easy steps, you are 100% capable of doing it yourself.

You totally did the homeowner a FAVOR Bro. Seriously charged him 2010 prices. Mad Respect for you ! Unfortunately in 2021 McDonald’s is hiring for $17hr. However , you are genius if you are making money of RU-vid as you are getting paid to have a work space. Post your $paystring please

I just did my first heated floor with Schluter Ditra-heat. Easier than I tought it would be. Will be installing it in my house next. Thanks for the video.

Manometer =--> Ohm meter, in case anyone's looking to buy one. :) Better yet, look for a "volt meter" since those typically measure resistance (ohms) as well.
@travlangley1
@travlangley1 2 года назад
Yep manometer is for reading gas pressure. I would have charged closer to that 1500, as a licensed contractor you should be making more than 400 dollars a day
@skeetorkiftwon
@skeetorkiftwon 2 года назад
@@travlangley1 $400/day is insanely low. Labor is 2x materials bare minimum. That doesn't even include ordering, pick up, measuring, etc. Let alone risk of failure.

With strata heat, do the heating wires go directly in the thermostat? Or is there a connection like with Schluter? Schluter sis much bigger than the heating wires which make it difficult on smaller tiles to get them level, IMO

I used the schluter heating system on my master bathroom floor, It works pretty good. I know the wife enjoys it. Lol.
@markbesescheck1924
@markbesescheck1924 2 года назад
you forgot some important parts, the heat wire needs to run in a conduit to the thermostat and seperated from the sensor wire. both sensor wires need to be installed in case of a failure. two are supplied with the system.
@mrreams711
@mrreams711 2 года назад
Just a little pointer. If you want a more accurate resistance measurement, don't touch both wire ends. Your body has it's own resistance and the two resistance measurement in parallel will always be less than the actual wire.

Monday I start my first 36” x 36” tile shower and tub job 270sqft of tile…….. it will be the first time using bigger than 12” x 24” tile ……… and then I have to tear out half a 90 sqft tub surround tile job someone else started and completely fudged up bad, and then I get to show them how good it should have looked…..I’m going to kill it😎

i always put a second spare sensor into the floor. cheap insurance in case it goes bad.

Did you put two sensors in? You should be if not. When one burns out and it will. You got the second to relay on.

Too close to the toilet flange, wax will melt. You need to stay 8 inches away from the wax and 2 or 3 from the vanity

how do you compensate for areas that are not going to be heated. What do you use to make it leveled along with the laticrete strata heat when adding tiles?

Why not two sensors and leave one of them disconnected in the box? When the first fails you don't have to rip out the floor, just switch to the spare in the box.
