Hi Jay.. Just bought 1977 Lincoln MarkV. I love this car. I like your video here. Maybe you can do some more Mark V maintenance and repairs. I will need to fix my power antenna. We can share repair ideas. Regards Jason

Christ, that has to be one of the easiest heater core jobs I's ever seen. My 71 Mustang had to remove part of the dash and heater box. Had a 73 LeSabre and half the dash had to come out. Bought a "79 Continental, replaced the radiator and assume the heater core would be next. But thanks for this video, looks like an easy morning job!!

Dude. I had to replace the heater core on a 79 Furtura. Yep. Had to drop the entire dash, this included removing the glove box cuz there were bolts securing the dash to the firewall there, had to disconnect and drop the steering column, cuz the dash wouldn't drop far enough to reach the heater core box. I was starting to realize, I really don't need heat in this car.😊

Man at least your fuel gauge working. Don’t know what’s up with mine’s.

It's usually a short to ground near the firewall or frame rail if it's always reading full. If it's always empty it's the float in the gas tank. They are thin brass and develop small pinhole leaks over time and gradually fill with gas, weighing it down.

ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Rlpb9zg5mLs.htmlsi=UGXxYW9X3BVN4q0N It's an earlier model but the fuel gauge operates basically the same. Hope it helps a bit

@@bluecollarballer I have a 78 Lincoln mark v with the fuel gauge and the miles to empty work. I unplugged the sending unit and use some wires the miles to empty working but the fuel gauge is still saying empty didn’t move.

Wait a minute are you telling me for the 1979 mark five you don’t have to take the whole dash apart to do this

Where did you source the new heater core? I got a non oem but the fit isn’t correct for reusing the padding

I had purchased it on eBay NOS in the box. They don't come up for sale too often. But you can use a non oem heater core and just cut any heat resistant foam to size. It should work well!
