@Spartan 300 Hi! I feel it is very important. I've heard of members who have left and they never researched to allow them to realize the lies of wmscog. So in the end they returned due to the guilt being too much to bear and the fear of hell.

@Spartan 300 Great question! I can try my best to answer that. Once I got over that stage of fear and guilt and started to actually be able to read the bible again I then found myself studying how accurate the bible was. The reason for that is because a lot of wmscog studies are based off of 'controversial ' passages. So when trying to find the real interpretation I was left with even more confusion. So I started to search if the bible was accurate and reading some scholars perspective. I found some things that made me lose confidence in the bible. I started listening to Atheist views just to understand both sides of the spectrum. So here I am. I still have a list of books to read so I'm not set in stone on anything right now. I'm open to other's views. I try to put all religions under the same scrutiny as wmscog. So in conclusion, due to me losing 9 years of my life in wmscog, I want to make 1000% sure I don't give my time or money to another organization that I have not researched on. I guess I would say I'm even more skeptical after leaving wmscog. Whether that stems from PTSD or whatever trauma , I cannot say.

Hey Sheldon! The most important thing to remember is that most of the people in this cult (or any cult for that matter) are not intentionally trying to deceive people nor are they intentionally being deceived themselves. So most of them just need love, patience and respect whenever you or I have a conversation with them. I have found that hitting people over the head with "facts" doesn't do a whole lot to help that person out. What helps them most is when I first show that I genuinely care about them as a person and then share truth with them in love. -- I'm glad to hear you are being helped by the videos! tbh you cant be blaming the church itself from his actions that he chose and honestly the only way to blame him is that he chose the wrong words to say to your mom and also being lazy itself is bad and wmscog dont teach people to be lazy. I would say that your father who told your mom that she'll go to hell, is definitely rude and needed to talk more gently. Also, its wrong to blame a church for his actions. For me, Im going to be honest, I should have tried to be a better person cause I have been taught in wmscog to be kind to others and serve others and love and be salt and light of the world and that can only happen when I try to change. One thing that ill always remember is that church of god taught me to be a better example and have a good relatiosnhip with anyone around me including my family so if you ever get to talk with your dad and your mom, he should try talk more gently to her and also it doesnt hurt to have some family time. I mean he probably values the church he goes in but he just needs to change his inner self by applying the things he learned from wmscog. Wmscog never told any members to only focus on gospel, preaching but also have a good relationship with family, friends and everyone. Anyways, I hope you and your family get along better, GBY

Unfortunately, it is. I still have my moments where i think "i want to go back to zion" after i stopped attending. I didn't leave because of the church. I left because my family was going through hard times with my dad, and his mental illness (schizophrenia) causes a lot of fear and anxiety. He was abusive to my mother, and since then; we had to move away from him and circumstances have changed. But your right. Their "hold" on people is so strong, it's hard to leave because they got it in your head that they are being "slandered" and train your minds to think everyone on the internet is a liar. For example, we were encouraged not to go on the internet because to them it was like eating forbidden fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. I won't say anymore about what i know. And i won't speak on it either on it either to anyone on a video since I've had nothing but good experience. For some, not so good. That's all i can say. I will say though, the internet thing is kinda weird to be honest.

To add onto my post, I am a night shift ER/Trauma nurse and I work 4-5 nights a week. 48-60+ hours to be exact. The life I already don’t have outside of work is enough and after the prompt to attend bible study every day at the very least was almost laughable. Respectfully, no. No means no.

Ex member here. Telling you from experience. Never force her to leave the church or say anything against the church. Notice her behaviour , bcz members in this church suffer from stress and anxiety . Tell your friend that you care and no matter what happens you can be trusted. Give her all the love. Members usually seek validation and love from the church. Bt when someone becomes an older member they start to take away all the love and put so much pressure on you. Notice when she is stressed and then you know what to do. Also i would recommend that you slowly introduce her to cults ( it should not look like you are purposely trying it ) all cults share a similar behaviour , when she starts seeing all these by herself. She'll leave on her own.

Yeah, after that Missionary took me in the storage room and was a little more forceful and direct I just gave up asking questions. Very sad because I'm sure that happens to many many other members.

@@heatherl.8540 for sure. That particular exchange, the way you described it, sounds like an interrogation technique called the reid technique. Where someone is accused of committing a crime, a way out is offered by the interrogator, but the way out is a trap that leads to admission of guilt. Since no answer is that right answer in that situation, the accused( you) had no choice but to submit.

Yes ! In terms of homelessness or challenging financial situations (like no car etc) they treat people like a burden. So many members are told to “fix their physical situation” before they can work on their spirit- which as we know is completely against what Jesus taught. We were always told not to give other members rides to Zion (even though Zion is the “most important place on earth”). The brothers and sisters/ other children of God we are supposed to love...? I feel like it ties into the Korean culture of that superficial perfection as you said! They don’t want outsiders to look at this perfect, true Church of God and see that their members struggle since all are supposed to be so blessed.

I was 22 and naive. I was scared of hell and they used that to their advantage.

They picked random sentences from the Bible (does it call "sentences"? If I'm wrong, correct me) out of context, and twist the meanings of God's words to fit theirs, and claimed that only them know the real "hidden meanings" of the Bible. That everyone else reading the Bible the wrong ways will not "go to Heaven", as they are "demons born". They were A LOT OF bullshit that I can not fathom that they ACTUALLY believe in what they said. It's like listening to a delusional or insane person talking. It was a scary experience in my life, and it made my depression worse. After three days, I realized they are a fucking cult, and I'm outta there fast. I was invited in by my so-called friend, and I blocked her immediately after that. It was not her fault, but she was too far gone, and I couldn't drag her out of there.

The international WeLoveU Foundation is 100% sketchy. Financially. They also have members pay into it....

@@GreatLightStudios I was shaken by the things they were saying. They came to my house. I thought they were inviting us to bible studies in the neighborhood, so I got curious and went outside to talk to them (two young ladies). After about five-ten minutes of what I mentioned in my previous text, I told them I cannot take one more version of the scripture, and sorry I just cannot right now [accept what they are saying]. They said to just consider what they are saying to be the truth and they invited me to attend a bible studies [like attend right away] . The church is located about 40-50 miles away from my neighborhood (they were not even from my neighborhood/state). I declined because I had something to do. I took their card and sent them off with bottled water (it was a hot day). I was frazzled when they left, took me a couple hours to realize what I had just experienced. I was questioning my faith. Then I started researching and comparing my knowledge of the bible to what they had said. During my conversation with them, I do remember questioning their interpretation of the bride and why nobody heard about the second coming, that supposedly happened in 1949 (that's the year the gave me). They had explanations for everything and I just remembered feeling bewildered and trying to shut out their words, all while trying to be considerate. Prior to yesterday, i don't believe I had any knowledge this church existed--maybe vaguely but not to the extent they had shared.

EverSoSophi well according to my Holy Bible and teaching this is all lies heresy and just plain satanic demonic. There is no Mother god how crazy. The Lord God Almighty is male not female. They just want to cause chaos im sure God hates their lies and guidance.

Yes, as a former member I've heard that being said. They even told not to preach to people with mental ill problems because they may off themselves and that may look bad for the church's reputation! A lot of things caught me off guard of the things they said. I was able to leave after being there for 5 years!

Good question. The reference I made I get from Isaiah 50:6 - "I offered my back to those who beat me, my cheeks to those who pulled out my beard; I did not hide my face from mocking and spitting." Although I believe there is a picture in this prophecy of the coming Christ and his sufferings, it does not "prove" that Christ actually had a beard or that if he did it was pulled out by the Roman guards. In fact, there is good reason to believe that Jesus may not have had a beard. So, I don't think in the future I will make such a straightforward statement as I did here in the video - as if it is "matter of fact" that Jesus had a beard that was pulled out. I don't think it's matter of fact that this actually happened. Thanks for pointing this out! :)

Go read the bible on your own. Don't read it through the doctrinal lenses that the WMSCOG has told you to see the bible through. Lay those aside. Read through the New Testament and see if you would come up with the doctrine of mother god on your own from an honest reading of scripture. I'm confident that the doctrine of mother god is a load of nonsense that has nothing to do with what the bible actually teaches.

Hi Diane, I understand that these things are probably difficult for you to hear. But, I don't think it's fair for you to simply dismiss this girl immediately as being a liar when you have no evidence to support that claim. If you claim that your experience in the WMSCOG has been positive, then we could just as easily accuse you of being a liar about that. But, I wouldn't do that. If you say that your experience is positive in the WMSCOG, then I believe you. Everyone's experience isn't necessarily going to be the same. But, Heather had a very negative experience, and she is not the only one saying these things. I've talked to many, MANY members who say the exact same things about this group, who have had very negative experiences. For you to simply accuse them all of being liars is unreasonable and unfair.
