This looks awful, and pretty much goes against everything the original Heathers stood for. Why was this show even necessary?

The dialog is trying way too hard to be edgy.

I already hate this movie with a burning passion. I don't care about the hair colour, but they did dismiss all the colour symbolisim that I loved from the original movie. As of JD's character, they butched him. He was a villan in the original movie, but he was still so human. He was a tortured bad boy who wanted to be loved but only knew destruction. The creepy thing about him and the film generally is that JD thought he was doing good till his death. He thought even though he was killing people that overall it would benefit society. "Now that you're dead, what are you going to do with your life?" And thirdly, the Heathers were not supposed to be diverse whatsoever. They made JD so one dimensional in this film, from the begining he just wanted to kill. Thirdly, the entire point of the heather's clique is that they were attempting to replicate eachother, and fit into a cookie cutter of what a popular girl is supposed to be. This remake took everything that was brilliant about the film and stepped on it.

september 1st, 1989 dear diary, i believe reboots can be enjoyable. i believe all reboots have potential to be good. but sometimes i look at shows with terrible plots that are trying to brand themselves with the best cult classic and ask myself: what happened?

Look, I'm all for representation, but one of the whole points of the original Heathers was examining the effects of privilage and social hierarchy. It's extremely ignorant to portray the minority kids as the privileged ones bullying the poor defenseless pretty white girl. Like, yes, minorities can be bullies and privileged kids can be bullied, but not in the context of Heathers.

This could be a great movie if it wasn’t the heathers.

Why couldn’t they just made the 2014 musical the movie instead? That could have been a WAY better.

okay. so many things wrong. first of all WHERE THE FUCK ARE THEIR INDIVIDUAL COLORS. Theres a reason heather C has got red, and veronica blue. Because those two colors are really dominating, and heather M has got yellow because its a really submissive color, and heather D has green because its the color of jealousy AND its the only of the colors that is not original, its mixed, she can never be her own person. Also, why the actual deedledoddles did you give the iCONIC chainsaw line to veronica. Unnecessary movie.

This would have been better accepted if this hadn't been put up with the 'Heather' name stapled to it. Because now that is, it carries with it the same expectations that the original had. But this is nothing like Heathers. Nothing, to the point where using the names of the characters is the only similarity. Step up your game Paramount, your still disappointing.

To be honest, on its own - or even as a heathers inspired series - this show would probably do really well. It'd be like a normal typical teen drama show. The problem here is them attaching it to the original Heathers - the fact that they're passing this off as a Heathers reboot shows how badly they misinterpreted the source material and original characters. It's a poor imitation of the original film. They could have avoided nearly all of this controversy if they had just released it as a standalone show or even just a show that drew inspiration from Heathers.

Im upset with this gor a few reasons: 1. This (and I have nothing against remakes) looks very bad. The original movie is set back in the late 80’s. Yes its a remake but its going against everything the original movie was like. I’m all for movies breaking the mold and having lgbt characters, but the Heathers just isn’t the movie for it. 2. This looks kinda comedic (which I don’t have a big problem with I really like the musical version of it and it had alot of funny parts in it) but its a drama and it can have funny parts but it looks like its majority comedy. 3. From the Trailer at least. It doesn’t make JD seem as creepy as in the original. Obviously this one is probably more comedic but that is probably going to take away from JD’s creepiness. Also(and its not much but its did throw me off) veronica from what I’ve always seen is brunette and Heather C. Is blonde and they flipped it. But oh well. Please don’t come after me for *my* opinion.

They announced the "Asian Girl" to being Betty Finn and can I say,she looks like the musical Heather Duke.

Reasons this is completely terrible 1. All the Heather's are supposed to be girls, but two girls and one gay guy. 2. The "body positivity", the Heather's in the orginal movie/musical weren't all about body positivity, the point of Heather's is that they're "perfect" meaning they're skinny and beautiful. 3. Veronica is a blonde and that's not okay, it doesn't match her character at all. 4. Veronica is out of character. 5. Why all the individual style? The style for the characters are way off. In conclusion, they shouldn't have made a reboot, they could keep this show but just make it their own damn show, not a reboot.

Everything in this god forsaken "reboot" steps on the musical and movie and SMEARS IT all over the ground. This repulsive excuse for a TV show should burn in hell.

The Heathers are supposed to be perfect and "float above it all" there is a reason H. Chandler's "suicide" is a huge surprise, it's because she's a pretty, thin, rich, white girl. Veronica is not supposed to be unbelievably beautiful, she is supposed to be someone that doesn't put a lot of effort into her look because she thinks that she can't be pretty The musical shows Veronica having sex with J.D as an act of desperation where her life is about to end. The Heathers are supposed to be untouchable which is why when Chandler dies the whole school falls apart. Heather controlled Kurt and Ram, she kept Duke in line. Veronica never wanted H. Chandler to die. She was ridden with guilt over he friend's death. She is upset with J.D because it's an accident he could have prevented but she didn't fully realize that he knew. J.D's whole thing is that he doesn't do drugs. He uses brain freeze as a form of self harm to process his mother's suicide. He isn't a rebel and he isn't edgy. He is traumatized and insane. I absolutely despise this. It makes me want to kill myself. If I die, this is the reason

This got pulled from the Paramount schedule. So, everything is on hold. They have no network to premiere the series.

Heathers is a movie that is a basic highschool stereotype turned dark, The Heathers being the idea of perfection and they rule the school. The Heathers also loose all of their flare, You could see them a mile away in their red, yellow, and green outfits. This is truly a flop, and trying to venture too far out of the zone of heathers, Heck, If I looked at this, I wouldn't even know what the hell this would be!

I get this is a remake but it's totally going against the original i love the topics that it changed but those topics took away characters for example Kurt and Rams death was blamed on their being gay and it wasn't acceptable in those times If there's body positivity (which I love the idea of) then what will happen to heather duke? 1. This show tries way too hard to be "accepting of today's society." We do not need a trans freaking Heather. I'm not against it. In fact, I have 2 friends who are trans (with even more friends that are part of the LGBT community). But that is not what Heathers is about. Heathers is about social hierarchy and murder. 2. It's a T.V series. What?

Wait- she killed Heather C on purpose? This impacts directly in the way her character is written. She never meant to be a murder, she is lost and confused, that's the whole point of her character, this changes everything.

I honestly would love to watch this series (or at least feel like it'd be fun), but only if it were standalone. I'm just upset they'd attach the original Heathers to it; now it's just a sad reboot. It completely misses the points of the original story and butchers or rearranges nearly all of the characters (especially JD, rip) to fit this weird modern appeal. Just untangle it from the real Heathers, rename it something original (as well as the characters) and you're like 90% of the way to a good pastime series. TLDR; stop trying to cop cheap fan points by slapping on a better story's name.

Why did Shannon agree to be in this hot mess. She was the one who cried after watching the first one when it came out. She said she thought it was a disaster and didn't get the direction of the editing as a dark comedy. But this isn't clever at all. It's just brazen garbage. And not Selma from Cruel Intentions, which is an inspired movie of the Heathers era. Why would she stain her classic with being in this too? I'm glad this one slipped past my radar when it came out, cuz this looks like a waste of time.
