How can we keep the Holy days without a temple? A temple is required for sacrifice. When Israel went into captivity the feast ceased until the temple was rebuilt. Yahshua put us under the new covenant. Matthew 24:1-3,14,21,29-30,34 [1]And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple. [2]And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. The word world is actually age in the original Greek. But the focus is that Israel wanted signs of the end of the age. Yes, we came from churchianity and I sometimes think while listening to 119, if there's a middle ground between what these teachings teach and what the church teaches....and I keep getting the same answer....keep the law, salvation comes by faith...and the proof of that is our obedience. Me too. This verse got me scared and not feeling comfortable, I look, and look, and look until I understand the important of the law of God.

@@lydianeilklassen No I don't think there will be for the feasts because without a temple they cannot be performed properly so they avail to nothing, but we should remeber them in a memorial sense how they pointed to christ and also to help us understand prophecy.

I'm glad you agree that we should follow the Torah. However, we do not follow Torah to be saved. We follow Torah to show faith that we are saved. In other words, we show obedience because we are saved.

119 Ministries has a teaching called something like "the least, the greatest..." something like that. That will serve you better than me passing a comment.

Matthew 5 doesn't state 10 commandments but the law and prophets which is the old testament.

The 10 commandments are just part of the law. They help categorized the law just as the 2 greatest commandments do.

All the laws are not for everyone all the time. Meaning, some laws pertain to women, some to men, some are for the priests and some are for everyone. Also, some cannot be observed currently because there’s no temple or altar or operating levitical priesthood. The 10 Commandments are for everyone as well as all other pertinent ones that apply example dietary laws and moral laws etc. The Torah is Elohim’s detailed instructions to humans to teach us how we are to live our lives as set apart people unto Him in this wicked world. Our obedience to His Torah is how we express our love for Him. “if you love me obey my commands” John 14:15 also John 15:14 and 1 John 2:4-6.

@@awalton260 So what about the ones pertaining to women, not doing anything whilst during their menses, eg, cooking, or anything she touches be it persons, money, clothes or sits on being unclean, asking as we mix with a lot of people and with the modern contraptions of pads etc. Who is to know nowadays whose unclean or not? or any discharge emitting from either men or women and also being unclean till even? In keeping the Shabbat, is it ok to work on that day if you cannot get time off, will it be classed as breaking the law?

I would say yes, it is a command. Numbers 15:38 “Speak to the sons of Israel and tell them that they shall make for themselves tassels on the corners of their garments throughout their generations, and that they shall put on the tassel of each corner a violet thread." Deuteronomy 22:12 “You shall make yourself tassels on the four corners of your garment with which you cover yourself."

I wear the clip on tzittzits since a four cornered garment is not part of my wardrobe. I ensure they have the blueue thread as well. Note: many Jews and Messianic Jews omit the blue thread these days.

A couple of things: 1.)That line about "All foods are now clean."...Is added and not part of the text...2.) Clean foods are described in Leviticus 11...3.) Unfortunately Gentile Christians parrot what many false Gentile Pastors spew as truth instead of STUDYING GOD'S LAWS for themselves...Ironically, James talks about 4 Laws that Gentiles need to follow and 3 of the 4 have to deal with Kosher food rules...If they were abolished, why would James insist on these Laws being followed?? “All Food” what YHWH sanctified and said is food, is acceptable and should be eaten with Thanksgiving. Gods law is eternal. Unclean meat is not “food”, and never will be. This verse is in reference to a sect of Jews who only ate vegetables. (There are still sects today in Judaism that eat only vegetables .) This sect was trying to put their “doctrines of men” or their own “Traditions of men” their own laws on new believers in faith. So when we read “He made all foods clean” absolutely! All meat and vegetables that YHWH calls “food” is indeed clean.

So, how would you explain Peter's vision in Acts 10. Where God tells him to kill and eat unclean animals, but he responds by saying he's not eaten anything unclean, and God says to him don't call common/unclean what I have cleansed. Paul in 1 Cor 8 and 10, also speaks on food offered to Idols. How do you explain this in defence of Kosher? 1 Corinthians 8:8-9 [8]But meat commendeth us not to God: for neither, if we eat, are we the better; neither, if we eat not, are we the worse. [9]But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumblingblock to them that are weak. Romans 14:17 [17]For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. The reason for the dietary laws under the OT, was because of the idolatry practiced by the cultures surrounding the Israelite. Same thing with the marriage laws. The point or essence was to warn against idolatry, against things that would turn their hearts away from God. The focus was not on the food, there was nothing inherently wrong with the animals, or with marrying people from other tribes/nations - Moses married an Ethiopian. The issue was idolatry. What's the essence of observing Kosher when your heart is not right with God?? If a man who eats an unclean animal (not out of idolatry) who doesn't even have or know the law, but does what is right in God's sight or an uncircumcised man does what is right in God's sight (as Abraham, Noah, Enoch and Abel)....do you think God would be partial to you because you kept Kosher or because you're uncircumcised? or that he would be impartial to the man who does what is right but does not keep Kosher and is uncircumcised? Define where you stand. You either believe the New Testament and the revelation of God's word or you reject it. Because, if you keep believing this way or holding these ideologies, you are inadvertently rejecting the work of Christ. I don't mean this in a derogatory way. I'm only asking you to consider the facts.

I don't understand your example I get the example in Luke but your example in Matthew? We do know at the end, which is what that verse was in part reference to, that the literal Heaven and Earth to pass away in a new literal Heaven and Earth are brought into its place. So that example in Matthew isn't figurative. Perhaps you're coming at it from a different angle would like to hear it if so. It would probably be good to know the Theology of the time as well. Back then indeed even to this day in many streams of Judaism it was already understood that once Heaven and Earth pass away literally that the Torah would not be in place or at least not in the same way that it is now as the very context for it has changed we would be different our world would be vastly different as a result much of the Torah wouldn't even be applicable anyway. Also if you were to take it figuratively that he's not referring to literal Heaven and Earth what is it he's trying to say in Matthew chapter 5. Keep in mind everything he says right before and after in reference to the whole idea of the Torah not being done away with. Matthew 5:17-20 is an almost verse after verse explicit can't take it any other way that the Torah/Law is here and not done away with he even said that those who teach that any small part of it is done with to other will be Least in the Kingdom. I really don't know any other way to understand that passage without twisting logic and basic reading comprehension to a massive breaking point.

@@nathanieldiaz2845 My point is what you understood from the verse in Luke. The emphasis was not the idea of the literal heaven and earth passing away. It was to compare it with his word/the law passing away. God's word/His law must be fulfilled. Nothing will make God's word fail, not even if heaven and earth passes away. His word cannot be broken. I think that's the point, rather than the idea of heaven and earth serving as a timeline for the fulfillment of the law. Following your line of thought, there are certain things in the law that are not literally applicable in our world today, but the essence of the law is what is applicable today. For example, there are laws about ensuring your animals don't hurt people and also about how you should treat your neighbours animal, which are not applicable literally if I do not own animals or live in a culture where animal farming is practiced, but the essence of it which is "loving your neighbour as your self", is the relevance today. God's law is eternal. However, the practice of God's law cannot span eternally, as culture and times will keep changing. Rather now, we have to navigate our world and practice God's law in a way that is relevant to our day. All things written concerning the Christ in the law of Moses, in the Psalms and in the prophets, he has fulfilled. The practice of offering sacrifices is irrelevant to our day, rather scripture teaches us to offer up spiritual sacrifices by our service to God, through love for him and love for others. Circumcision is irrelevant in practice today. It's the circumcision of the heart and of the spirit, that is relevant which is by repentance from dead works and faith towards God. Obedience to God and not an undue emphasis on certain rituals. The dietary laws were to guard/warn against Idolatry - Love for God was in view, not food per say. The fathers before the law didn't have the law but they pleased God, they did what was right in his sight. Abel was righteous, Enoch walked with God, Noah was a just man, he walked with God and found grace in his sight, Abraham was righteous, so was Lot, same with Joseph...all without the written code. So, I agree that God's law is eternal, it spans through the ages, unbroken. However, Jesus was not referring to rituals and ceremonies. If we stay within the context and read till the end of Matthew 5, you'll see that Jesus refers to matters of the heart- adultery, love for one another, love for your enemies etc. The righteousness of the Pharisees is hypocrisy; carrying out outwards practices but yet dishonouring God in their hearts.

Matthew Nolan of Torah to the Tribes examines the figurative sense of "heaven and earth pass away", but he seems to argue conversion brings perfection once the Father abides in us--it is the private equivalent of Revelation 21-22. He indicates we are a "new creation" individually at full conversion in contrast to the global "new creation" featured in Revelation (2 Cor 5/17). Once we're made perfect, the law is irrelevant, because we will be incapable of doing anything contrary to it. My problem with his argument is its subjectivity. Who decides we're made perfect on an individual basis? What authority other than our treacherous hearts can go around saying, "You no longer need the law", "you still need the law"; "you're perfect", "you're not quite there yet"?

Messiah said not the smallest stroke of the Law written to teach others about God and God's Law would disappear until heaven and earth disappeared. Before heaven and earth disappear, not everyone knows who God is nor does everyone know God's Law. The written form is used for teaching others. However, when this earth and heaven are destroyed and a new heaven and new earth given, everyone will know God and know God's Law for it will be written on their heart. There will no longer be a need to teach others about God or God's Law so the written form used for teaching can disappear because it will not longer be needed. But God's Law never is abolished.
