Just the same thing I uploaded yesterday (with only a couple of really small changes) but this time I wanted to show the fretboard view of the plugin in action and didn't want to delete the first video. Original music: Masahiro Ando
Thanks! It has palm mutes but only 2 different mute layers (mid-tight and very-tight) so it's not as good for palm muted rhythms as Shreddage 2 or Prominy V-Metal. But otherwise it sounds very very good, especially for lead guitar.
@@StonerSquirrel Thanks! It's been a while but I opted to not use palm mutes for the main riff because the mutes they recorded were too tight for the riff which originally utilizes a sort of half-muted notes.
@@StonerSquirrel Yes. I think they only recorded one palm mute layer, although they added a slider to adjust the tightness, but that still doesn't enable you to do those half mutes with long decay
@@StonerSquirrel it can still do some nice mutes, don't get me wrong, but this riff needs those half mutes and tbh those don't sound great even with the guitars that have them. It's hard to make this riff sound right with VST guitars
Thanks! V-Metal is better as a rhythm guitar in my opinion but its higher range sounds too bitey and thin for my taste. This one however has very solid and crystal clear lead tone as you can hear here and the pickup selection is a great feature (neck pickup gives a thick sounds like here) as well as the fret preference thing that you see in action at 3:15 (the capo thing on the fretboard) H7S only has 2 mute layers so it's not perfect for low chugging rhythms (also the very low range doesn't sound as good as Shreddage or V-Metal if you ask me) but it does repeated strumming really well, something like Green Day's Basket Case for example. But yeah, for this kind of leads this thing really shines, it sounds just amazing compared to any other I've tried. But if you mainly need a guitar for brutal low-range metal rhythms V-Metal is probably better (it has very good mutes and great tone). V-Metal is really heavy on RAM though, I'm quite at the limit of my 8GB RAM when using 2 instances of it (double track + lead) and also using a few other instruments while Heavier7Strings is very light and seems to use only 0,4GB RAM when loaded (I'm using Reaper)
Hey! I found the project, here's the MIDI for the guitars and bass. It was made with an older version of H7S so I can't guarantee it'll sound the same with the current version out of the box www.dropbox.com/s/nbvwpkn3c45cedw/motc%20h7s.mid?dl=0
Oops, it seems the MIDI I exported was from a version that has the 2nd guitar harmonize the first during the "chorus" instead of playing octaves. I don't know where the original one is but well, at least the main guitar should be the same :D
I have 2 versions of this project, the other one uses only built-in FX of H7S and the other one uses Mercuriall TSC-1, Ignite Emissary and the free Catharsis IRs. The built-in amps and cabs in H7S aren't bad at all. Can't remember which version this video is.
@@Tremendouz Ok perfect! Is because I was trying to replicate those kind of sounds with Prominy V Metal and Guitar Rig 5, but I'll check those you sent me. Thank you!
