Niccaman it's a bullet sponge, if you have a good crew with you. You'll be in the air for a while this is way to op for people who don't have premium but I would use it since it's a heavy hitting bomber

I think the heavy demolition variant could do some really nasty work as a gunship that refuses to go down (with birth instant repair and a repair tool monkey). Not sure if the rear placement of the auto-cannon changes its effectiveness for better or worse, thigh. But it can be very useful as a flying spawnpoint with that extra seat. You can have people jumping out every 10 seconds or while circling an area. I suck at bomber flying, so I can't comment on the Muromets' capabilities, but I think you should give it a few more shots when the DLC goes live. Maybe it just takes some practice to get used to. Loved the troll music, btw. ^_^ It was really funny watching it after helping out with all those repairs.
It would be shit if it got nerfed, considering it fighters can take down bombers within an easy 4 seconds because of the rockets that the bomber killer loadout have.
I would of preferred gas grenades instead of smoke grenades to soften up defenses more such as having to put on their masks and being less combat effective. It would be used much more often than smoke which I honestly feel is gimmicky in these games because a tiny number of people use it, but I think too many people would of complained about a plane dropping a payload of gas grenades in the game...
Smoke grenades are extremely useful on open operations maps. Definitely underestimated. I can swear I have sometimes almost single handedly broken a stalemate on Sinai by spamming smoke grenades as a support player, giving my teammates cover to push on an objective.
Smoke is actually really good in BF1 especially as a medic going for revives. If you're a medic pushing a point with your team and taking a lot of fire from the point, smoke can (and has on several occasions) be the difference in whether or not the attack succeeds or fails.
I think this has more use than you think and with some training i think it will definitely change the air of bf1 but i think they need to give more to that top AA gun like maybe if it was stronger than the others and maybe if the whole thing was a bit faster but that might be too much. i'm looking forward to seeing these overhead.
I find that I can fly high, then dive bomb planes below me, using my top gunner to light them up. Usually they circle around once they see what plane I'm using, only for my back gunner to finish the job. It takes good communication between my squad, but we pull it off pretty well. I'm a pretty good pilot and I think this is a really versatile plane if you're willing to be considerate to those in the other seats and alter your strategies.
I 💯 % with you on your opinion, I was on the heavy bomber for 20 minutes only got 5 kills, 1 tank. The next round I switch to the regular bomber less then 15min got 19kills, and I think got 3 tanks... And this was recently I bought premium... I can’t believe that I more scared with a light tank then seeing a heavy bomber flying by... See a incoming regular boomer, RUN!!!
Most things, those are genuinely useful, but if you're going for an incendiary bomber just pick the standard one. It's far better for actually killing than the heavy bomber.
Maybe not score big but you sure could use it to win rounds for the team, it could be a key asset if used well by the looks. Looking forward to trying it out.

The heavy bomber could destroy when a major fight is going on at the church on st Quintin's scar, a large radius of bombs on weakened targets will net big rewards I imagine. I can't play pilot so maybe this is bad so just take this as a grain of salt
Vortex The Dva Main not likely. Hitting B with a bomber is a death sentence. You'd be under fire from Alpha AA, plus possibly the Alpha spawn side AA and I think there's also an AA on Bravo? Combine that with the likelihood of at least 1 enemy plane firing at u an ur losing a wing and crashing.
one good use for the heavy bomber is, especially the heavy demolition kit, is to drop the bombs in a line to create a "trench" in the wide open spaces of the new maps to help support your team.

THats the Sikorsky Ilya Muromets. That was one tough aircraft in real life. One of them was under attack by 8 aircraft and it shot 4 of them down before going down. It was the world's first airliner with 16 seats, heating, electric lights and a toilet as well as the first strategic bomber.
My view on Heavy Bomber while playing on console: -As you stated on video plane is hard to maneuver, first time i flied it i crashed as i wasn't able to keep hight from ground. Some maps with planes are not enough large for HB to fly to safety if you got no one to repair it, now we got people trying to open new weapons with 'supports and Sniper(yes, i doubt there are no Scouts. At least no one wants to spot or use Spot Flares...), they are constantly shooting any plane they can in order to destroy it. -I haven't played Heavy Strategic Bomber but once and as i wasn't able to kill anyone with it i doubt i will. Regular bomber can do same but kills soldiers on ground, Bomber is better dealing with any ground targets on regular kit while HB is not as good. -I play mostly on Heavy Demolition Bomber and i score pretty nice kills with it and when enemy planes go for Kamikaze i just laugh, thanks to Emergency Repairs, it repairs about 20% of HB max health even while taking fire. Only targets i have had trouble been Light Tanks, they move fast so they get away from being destroyed. If i bomb tanks area, said tank has around 20% chance of surviving from bomb run. So do i mean i got good accuracy or my opponent does not fear the shadow of death? I'll leave that to reader to decide. -Haven't tried yet Heavy Support Bomber How have i been destroyed so far? -Planes equip'd with anti-Airship weapons have dealt massive damage and skilled pilots been able to drop HB if *all* of them hit, i think as it feels like taking damage only once. -Skilled Artillery Truck driver have dropped me down few times, one hit is all it takes and HB is slow and large target even from afar. -Landship equip'd with Tankgewehr has dropped me three times with one hit. These have been on Monte Grappa when Landship has climbed to mountain and hunted the planes. However i do remember being hit on normal Bomber and not being destroyed but after 3:th hit. So why HB survives Kamikaze attacks from Fighter and Attack Planes but get shot down from one hit from Landship? What i think? Plane that requires lots of skill but has no real rewards aside from being able to survive air combat more likely. Most useful when used against Large Tanks or soldiers hiding inside buildings. Capable of destroying AA gun while taking fire from it, however if you take damage from two sources you're going down and cannot avoid it.
It's basically the old battlefield helicopter trick for repair. I think maybe a repair assisted heavy bomber might be able to AC 130 more effectively since it's all but immortal and thus won't have to leave the target area. It just depends on how stable it is while banking to the extreme you would have to to enable your gunners to fire effectively. I think if it had more of the anti infantry bomb types and allowed rapid spam clicking to make the bomb drops basically grouped, it would be broken which mean that maybe they should dial back the amount of repair the repair tool is allowed to do. The best way for this is maybe to have it start slow but ramp up quickly and have the repair rate then reset with damage to the vehicle.
I love this bomber. I love to be the tail gunner. I can communicate with my friend as the pilot and take out anyone on our tail with the cannon. If the plane overshoots us, I talk on comms with the nose gunner to finish them off, and 4th friend repairs and throws random limpets. It's a huge bomber that draws in the enemy fighters and attack planes, which keeps them off our smaller bombers or attack planes that are killing enemies on the ground. We keep the sky clear of enemies. We are a fighter magnet.
I'd say that in addition to supporting your team on the ground, the other thing this bomber does is that it attracts all of the enemy planes. So instead of killing your team on the ground, they're focusing on you. Also, I noticed that attacking pilots really have to rethink their strategies because you can no longer just sit behind the bomber and blast away. That tail gun is far more deadly than the anemic MGs of the original bomber.
This is meant as a support aircraft and not an assault. You won't get huge killstreaks or have fast, accurate kills, but you can do a lot of damage and shift the focud of the battlefield. I was in it with a very good pilot and we shot down alot of planes with it (it's really superior to other fighters, hard to take down). We bombed alot of points whilst not getting a lot of kills, it caused a lot of suppression to the enemies making it easier for allies to capture. Only downside i see is when it's fully occupied it means you lose 4 infantry spots on the ground
when this bomber came out I did top the scoreboard using the ground loadout, but I did not use the flechette darts at all, primarily because of how they function now, they are pretty useless without being able to concentrate them. The other bombs do a decent amount to troops, and to me function like an airburst mortar, they wittle down enemy health and finish off weak troops. It is hard to replicate that however without having a full team in your plane with you at all times. Now that most people have finished off the assignments requiring repairs, no one is repairing anymore. So unless you have buddies who don't mind repairing you all match long, you probably aren't going to be able to stay alive long enough to top the boards anymore.
As a pro at War Thunder i like the detail where you have to spam click to drop all bombs because in War Thunder you could be flying in your BV-238 and spamming space bar to drop all 20 bombs and im used to doing that.
The turret on the back of it might be op as not only are you flying slow but that turret is already pretty op at killing infantry and damaging vehicles so combined with a strong defense for a plane and slow movement that will mow down a huge amount of people if the pilot, gunner and repair tool troop are good and work together
I just tried the 4th seat of the plane and it's very effective, and there is a istant resupply of ammunition (even with gadget). So you can repair the plain and shoot with the crossbow when it's full health.
I think this bomber has some pretty interesting points, but in an average servers it will be more or less unusable. The heavy loadouts will be the most used one, despite the fact that the massive smoke screen if used at it should would make any defence a real nightmare. If you can gather a dedicated crew this plane can really conduct a team on its own but its not going to happen often.

With a three person crew: pilot, 2x supports with repair. You left out what this bomber really is... A very durable platform for that rear mounted auto cannon. Screw the bombs - the rear cannon will wreck whatever he sees behind the plane, may occasionally die only to be replaced by support #2 who keeps plane aloft. Dead rear Gunner spawns as support into repair seat. Throws gas grenades from between repairs? Spots by spamming while ads too.
The only reason you’re not scoring crazy big is because you’re using the wrong package, the strategic bomber can level entire objectives scoring you 8-14 kills a bombing run when used correctly
I guess the cluster bombs could be used as support to hurt enemies for team mates to finish off. The attack plane is good at anti infantry roles but it's more precise while I guess the heavy bomber can cover a larger area.
You're wrong about the top seat, that AA gun. The seat Allan be used for scouting and spotting ground targets to bomb, and it's also effective against infantry. I get kills in the back of attack planes using it to shoot at ground targets.
I typically play with a group of 4-6 friends, so I've spent my fair share of time in both offensive and supportive roles with this plane. I've really enjoyed it so far and there are a couple reasons I think it's the best plane in the game. 1) It forces the enemy air fleet to become useless and mostly take fighters. I realize that having this plane full takes 4 players out of the fight, but by having this bullet sponge in the air, it forces the enemy planes' attention away from ground objectives and onto me instead. With my squad we've been able to keep this Flying Fortress in the air for entire matches and over the course of the game the enemy aircraft just aren't able to focus on the ground. Bomber and attack plane pilots end up trading to fighters in an attempt to kill us, but they can't usually. I think this helps our team. 2) This bomber works well as an air to air fighter. Often I will fly high above the map, and plummet down on a smaller plane, letting my top gunner light him up. Nearly always, the surprised and damaged plane banks around to come up on our tail only to be taken out by my rear gunner. I realize that the front facing top gun isn't a favourite of most people, but I've just adjusted my play style as a pilot to accommodate that gun. 3) it's reliable. Because it's so hard to take out, my teammates/squad mates can be sure that I'll be there if they need me. No one has to worry about me being pulled from an objective because I have to deal with being shot. 4) Hardcore makes this plane even better To be fair, I've only used this plane in hardcore, as that's all I play (just a personal preference). With the increased damage and decreased health, hardcore makes this plane ideal for taking out all kinds of objectives. On open ground it's devastating and if the enemy is inside, the debris damage usually kills them after the initial blast. The support variant is a saviour for my teammates on the ground as well. 5) It's more satisfying Nothing beats a successful bombing run, and while the barrage bomber is great, it's simply not possible for me to keep it in the air as long as the heavy bomber. This means I can get more runs done in a game just by living longer. Sure it's slow and cumbersome, but I find that the sluggish controls are not only something you can get used to, but also serve to make a successful attack feel that much better. Lastly, you can have nearly an entire squad in this plane. Having all your friends alive, getting repair points and kills, and communicating makes for a fun game. A little long, I know. I wanted to make sure though that people understand that this bomber has some upsides too, as it's been getting a lot of flak online. I think this bomber takes some different strategies to be effective and has a steeper learning curve, but I don't think that's a reason not to use it.Awesome video!
The single drop mechanic could be useful when you have groups of enemies apart and you want to get them all so you just drop one bomb and go to the next target
Looks like a gunship to me, all weapon slots can shoot to the sides, just circle around a cap point and gunship everything in it while having unlimited repair and ammo.
I haven't gotten a chance to fly the new bomber, but I always drop my bombs in third person in a dive bombing style, and I usual am able to instantly kill tanks at full health in one pass because of that.
I'm not impressed with it's primary payloads, but as a gunship it'd be a royal pain in the ass. If the pilot flies circles around an area and only goes after targets of opportunity, a gunner in the back seat can hit targets on the ground, while a third guy repairs from the inside. Also, you might be able to curb the terrible cluster accuracy by flying a bit lower. If the repair guy is doing his job, you could probably get away with it. This would also make it significantly easier for your back gunner to mop up targets on the ground.
I would absolutely love a bomber that could drop gas. As it is realistic, and it would believe it or not be REALLY EFFECTIVE. You drop it on the enemies front, and it would fuck their engagements up as they would have to get their gas masks, and they wouldn't be able to ADS, and you never know, maybe you'll get a kill. But it would make them EASY, pickings at distance. If their in engagements at range already when that gas drops? No mercy.
The thing is you need teamates that know how to function is and play smart , you are a very very easy target but yes that thing could help wiping out infantry etc give great cover with that wall of smoke....its just you need a good pilot and crew. That repair trick is the best thing ever tho.
