*Warning Headphone Users* This Impala is loud as F*@%! It's one of the most DEAFENING pump gas cars we've seen this year at both Street Car Takeover - St.Louis as well as Drag Week. Weighing in at nearly 5,000 pounds - you probably wouldn't expect this Procharged TANK to pull the front wheels, and bust out an 8 second pass! But it did with ease - and looked good doing it. Major props to the owner - who's been racing this beast since the 90's!

60s Impalas, each year was different but they all were such a work of art. What beautiful machinery ,and I do like this 66. I had a 68 Impala SS 427 4 speed.. A 65 SS 327.

I had both a '66 and '67 Impala when I was a kid. Still my all time favorite rides,....both had 300 hp 327's and Powerslide tranny's. I still dream about those two cars.

Love 60's Chevys - I had a 62'/283, a 65'/283, a 69'/327 - all four doors. The 65' was a hard top - wonderful memories with all of them.

Wow badass! My buddy had a 65,& I had a 66, use to street race & cruise in late 70s. I could get 11-12 inch slicks inside fenders.Now wife has black & white 60 impala stick, & I have 62 vette that I bought in 74, still burning rubber !

I love these very fast real streets car/pro street/radical street cars. It's cool to see full out radical street cars going fast and barely handling the street driving. But it takes alot of work and looks awesome to see true pro street cars going fast and cruising decently on the streets.

Id love a 4th gen Impala coupe. All the room in the world for a BBC Twin Turbo set up under that hood. needs a Lexan and fiberglass diet, but the lines of the 4th gen are just perfect musclecar.

Where does it pick up all that weight? I had a 4 dr. 1966 Impala that weighed 3800 lbs. This being a 2 dr. it should weigh about the same with the power adders and safety equipment.

my 78 coupe deville weighed about 4500 and it was a bbody and what scales did you go to?? that really light for an impala. most fully loaded g body will weight 3800 WITH a driver

Scales at the auto recycling center. They are accurate. I had my 06 gto weighed also and it came in at 3660. Lost a bunch of weight on it by replacing exhaust system. Cars in the 1960s looked a lot heavier then they were. www.oldride.com/library/1966_chevrolet_impala.html

mrhazel, Cadillac was never a B-body, the DeVille was a C-body. And Kevin is right, unless this guy added lead somewhere that car doesn't trip the scales at 4,600 pounds. I had a 66 SS convertible with the L-72 and it didn't weigh that.

I'm going to assume BEEF rearend, boxed framerails, cage, heavier trans than the factory powerglide/4-speed, all the suspension paraphernalia, electric pumps/fans, intercooler stuff, AC, probably has a good deal of sheetmetal work in the ass end... I'm sure it's probably there or close to it if the factory weight was anywhere near 4,000. Particularly if the factory car in question was a small-block car without a lot of options.
