I'm glad the internet is what it is today. We get access to information without bias, our way, to sensitize people on how inept our authorities are. This is serious!
Not half an inch of rain; 5 inches at Dagoretti Corner. An exceptional although not a record amount. A warning from the Met Office 24 hours in advance would was necessary but not forthcoming. Could the heavy rain have been forecast? Possibly not although by mid-afternoon on Sunday all the warning signs were there. The meteorological situation is fluid and changeable and difficult to predict( yes,I am a meteorologist)The rains have given way to drier weather for a few days and then will probably return. I would like the Met Office on camera before , rather than after, the next big weather event.
Ruto needs to sack ALL Governors, starting with SAKAJA, as they do ZERO Work, except look for Contracts to build High Rise Apartments all Over Nairobi, and other affected Counties.! Nairobi has a shortfall of WATER supply, and almost Zero SEWEAGE system, and yet SAKAJA is busy looking for BRIBES from Housing Developers, so that HR Apartment can be built in EASTLANDS, which does NOT have the road network or SEWEAGE system, or running WATER to setvice the sudden 8nflux of population in these areas where HR Apartments have been built Look as at Eastleigh, it is a mess, thanks to the GOVERNORS there!
Watu wa Nairobi,Mtakaaje Na... Huyu MTU Wa Mdomo Mwingi kujifanya anajua kufanya KAZI,Sakaja MTU Bure Kabisa Kenya Hii...Hasara Hii yote Nani Atalipa!?
@@RichardBuschmann-f8m Hawa Ma GOVERNIRS, kazi Yao ni ku IBA tuu. Angali yule Uso Mbaya, ORENGO, ali IBA from the County Budget, na aka anza ku jenga Ma Flats! JOHO ali IBA 20 Billion kutoka Coynty 001! Na DCI ime kaa tuu, ikiwa angalia, kwa sababu RUTO yuko Kanisani aki kunwa CHAI na Ma BISHOPS!
the flows from kibra...highrise...south c/south b...through to ruai...it used to 60 wide at the brigde,,,,backfilling of soil to build by people from the informal settlement reduced to 10 metres
Sad imagining how this will affect some families livelihoods. Hope there is urgent action being worked out that has immediate benefits to these people.
i worked in this place opposite kartasi for 13 years....backfilling along the river ...made it hard forngong river to have smooth flow after the bridge and hence the floods...
Our leaders are not the problem the problem is with the voters nairobeans are now complaining yet they are the same people who voted for this dimples guy and worse is yet to come. Until voters learn to vote wisely then such problems will never end.
When electoral body selects for you this is the repercussions. It's sad we voters have no say. But there will come a time when they will wish people to vote.
PERFECT SOLUTION: The solution is underground tunnels which leads to river basins , lakes or the sea. Build it deep and at least 12 ft. underground. ❤ A huge tunnel ..large enough to travel under and clean..and useful for small runoff. I'm not a professional but ...i see it in first world countries. They have places underground where people could live under...perhaps dig the river deeper and wider put some banks plus what he said. A combination is needed!
It is indeed pathetic, all water courses have been grabbed, filled with boulders and soil, flattened and construction running day and night. There will be no solution any soon...God help us
This are preliminary disaster awaiting lower Nairobi as most water catchment areas are paved with cement and tars, the soil and vigetations that were ment to retain water is no more hence exposing Nairobi to flush floods. Dams should be done as well as enlarging rivers and other drainage systems.
The guy Said they Come to collect money from the businesses there, why don’t they all come together and decide not to pay anything until that situation is fixed. With unified hands the government can’t do anything to them anyways I’m sorry for those affected it’s sad
We said Sakaja is a big SCAM. More is yet to come. The guy knows nothing as far as managing the city is concerned. He is just there to chestthump and allow Nairobi to be a Kenya Kwanza cashcow to please Ruto and Gachagua.
Kikuyu landlords are actively engaged in urban development endeavors within Nairobi, yet apprehensions persist regarding their adherence to zoning ordinances and the efficacy of drainage systems. It is imperative to prioritize a harmonious integration of economic interests with sustainable planning strategies to effectively address issues like flooding and foster the city's long-term resilience and prosperity.
This is a very small part of Nairobi. Show The Savanna and other Places .Born and Raised. And we where never flooded.Depends on where U live. The City Itself Never Flooded.
This is very normal in Africa given that we are known for ignorance. We have ever warned of possible floods so that our leaders and political for that matter, may avail resources to for precaution measures.
But you have forgotten that the so called developers took all the riparian field and built apartments. This is self inflicted pain and we should not be complaining
There are people sitting in high offices that just love our kenyan ignorance. I wish we could just get a picture of how many people we pay (via taxes) to give us services, before we even get to the top (governor). But we never hold them to account
Rwanda has a clenaingvday once a month. How hard is it to galvanize the youth and clean your own back yard?? You wait for disaster then balme the government you elected😂😂😂common the pile of rubbish is whose rubbish? Take matters into your own hands. Clean your streets have a culture of cleaning and throwing garbage in the right place. Inagine if the company once a month cleaned and employed youth to do it. How much would have been saved. Why not sue the county government. Take legal action.
Sakaja likes only soft life....he is currently enroute to watch WRC Safari Rally. This hard core, dirty mjengo kind of stuff is for the next governor, not Sakaja.
Sakaja endelea kupaka rangi vitu uhuru alikenga zote u don't understand you work tao imejaa kama gikomba I regret voting for you Hadi tao maji imejaa Kisumu ni classic kuliko Nairobi very clean
Thats not the solution God gave people like you brains, when you go to vote and vote in people who cant deliver don't start crying repentance, Nairobi has been having rains and floods did the people who sit on county offices understand they need to budget and increase drainage works?
Then you are talking about affordable housing without proper sewage systems and bwana mashamba ufisadi daima alliance mtapeli ruto has grabbed the only sewage land in Ruai shame on the hypocrisy hyenas and vultures government leadership?
Seems you got there while the mainstream media was still sleeping. Great stuff going on with online media. You guyz need proper journalism badges to help with the police if you don’t already have.
Nairobi, over hyped city. No water in taps. It rains a little, floods all over. The people, dump all over, in the drains and the on roads. A dirty city. Time to abandon this dump of a city and build a well planned city from ground up or focus on Konza.
Sasa mbona hamtumii Kizungu mnatumia Kiswahili kuulizia habari wakati nyie ni Wazungu weusi. Watu ni wazungu, Kiswahili ni cha nini? Waachieni waTZ wenye Kiswahili chao.
