Great albums across the board. My daughter was scared of the Maiden album covers as well. I remember having Killers out when she was like 4or 5 and her telling me it gave her nightmares.

Classic maiden. I think the records art work will be doing that forever. Haha. I really enjoyed doing this because it took me back to my childhood when I first saw these records

Great picks. Funny how cover art could sell me a record even if I never heard a note. Would love to go back to that time to experience it again.

Like you hinted to, I also bought many an unknown album based simply on the looks of the album. Metal historically was definitely a package deal, image and music - even live, there was image, stage production, costumes, whatever. I've heard many a lame band that have a good image or artwork, and I've heard many a great band with lame artwork or image. :)

I completely agree. I got a little tongue tied in the beginning of the video. When I try to explain how the image, artwork and music, all kind of went hand in hand. Just like you, I've heard some really great bands have garbage album artwork lol. Also some really bad bands that had awesome artwork. To me, that's one of the great things about heavy metal. The fans aren't stupid. We all knew both of them went hand in hand and there were a lot of those late 80s hair bands that were carbon copies of the original hair bands that were putting out cool looking albums. But the music was terrible - metal fans weren't fooled easily

Great idea for a video man! All three of my grandson's have gone through (or are still going through to differing degrees) this with a lot of my albums lying around and asking questions. They definitely know who Eddie is, as well as Motorheads Snaggletooth logo Lol! I might see if they want to pick some out and give it a go. I can think a few as well that were very misleading. As in...the cover art would have one think they were heavy metal, but the music was anything but. Although I think that has been mentioned once or twice in the vc. Not sure if being into art (especially sci-fi and fantasy) changed my perspective, but I was never freaked out by any artwork on albums...with maybe the exception of Nazareth Hair Of The Dog. But I was really young when my older bro brought that home. 1975. Yeah, I was 7! And maybe later that Venom album. I just hadn't seen anything quite like that one. And in a good Catholic family (I use good loosely lol) I wasn't supposed to look at - or even acknowledge that kinda stuff lol! I was both frightened and mesmerized at the amazing artwork lol! Like you say, I just thought they were cool. Hell, I was usually more interested in actual photos of the band members. Sabbath, W.A.S.P. and Motorhead come to mind immediately. Those dudes looked scary to me as a kid...well, with W.A.S.P. I was a teenager by that time Lol! Enough rambling from me. Well done Brett. Enjoyed your stories my friend. Cheers bud! 🍻✌️🤘🎶🤘

Thanks man. I think it would be a really cool idea for you to get your grandkids to pick out a few records for themselves and maybe you do a video on those that they picked out. My daughter is definitely not a fan of this type of music. She's a Taylor Swift fan has die hard as I am a Metallica fan. But I did think it was kind of cool when I started catching her in this room. Looking through all my records and all my CDs in the posters and the old magazines and whatnot and she just had the same look on her face that I did as a kid and that's kind of what's wanted me to start doing this video and what gave me the idea

@@headbangerscloset8552 I can relate man! My oldest grandson is going through his Eminen stage (censored when he's around me ...I hope it's a short phase for my grandson lol)...but he does dig a lot of stuff and is curious. He's off school for a few days starting Monday due to a teachers strike, so maybe next week. ✌️🤘🤘

@@headbangerscloset8552 Lol! I should say the same. I can't imagine my house blaring Taylor swift! We can only influence brother. Can't force them. I actually love having him around, and even if I have a strong dislike for certain styles of music, I have a ban in my music room of the stuff I don't like. Although I am tolerant of his Spiderverse and Shang-Chi soundtrack vinyl. It's a great experience. so he doesn't have a choice. 😆🤘🤘

@@twangersturntable my Spotify top 5 last year was Metallica #1, but Taylor Swift #2. Lol. Told my wife it's about time for our daughter to get her own listening device. Haha

That’s cool. How old is your daughter? My son is 7, I should try this with him. But I can’t show him my Cannibal Corpse artworks though. 😂 Cheers buddy

She is 9. That's about 2 years older than I was when I started noticing metal. It was so much fun watching her look through my collection. I highly recommend you trying it with your son
