What cracks me up is the people buying the Pink Camp packs from Mosaic retail on eBay. The RC is always the 3rd card and you can see through the back of the white pack, so the seller knows who's in there. Those buyers aren't getting any of the big rookies they are after, yet they are spending a fortune buy lots of just the Pink Camp packs.

I remember 89 Topps where if you got a Don Mattingly in a pack, you would also get a Gregg Jefferies in the same pack.

Love how you try and figure out who the autos are, when it tells you their initials on the back...

The autos wont always be backwards, but if you have a backwards card, it is an auto. Does that make sense?

I condemn the actions in this video. The hobby will never be the same now that I know how to put something on a scale.

I don't buy loose packs for that reason, but learned that lesson back in 90s when insert craze started. The hobby shops would breaks boxes and when the hit the one per box insert they would put packs out for sale. Never could get a hit if you bought individual packs from a hobby shop. I still wouldn't.

Not gunna lie, I kinda like seeing almost all hits! And multiple Jasson pulls in one video is always solid 👍🏼

THANK YOU!!!!!......I kept getting kick out of baseball card groups on Facebook, when I tell people about weighting pack of cards.....OR putting a pack of unopened packs up to a metal detector. This will help you find print plates. I always would get kick out of the groups. I try to tell people in the groups, that people do this ALL THE TIME!!!!! Thank you for letting people know that this happens a lot. There are many other ways to see what’s in a pack of cards. I don’t trust buying retail packs. Because I came across corner cuts. Or gluing the packs back together.

It's helpful info IMHO, people need to know not to buy the loose packs. Don't be the guy going into Target weighing everything on the shelf however. On a side note, I bought 3 blasters of heritage retail and I felt like one was heavier in my hands. I weighed them all on a kitchen scale, not even a jewelry scale, and indeed one of the blasters was heavier. It ended up being a purple hot box.

There’s always gonna be “pack pirates”, especially with Topps products...maybe they should do dummy cards for weight and foil packs, like Panini. Honestly I don’t think Topps cares, they are selling product, that’s all that matters to them.

Never buy individual packs on eBay. That’s card collecting 101. They have either been weighed, or they hit something big in the first few packs and listed the rest of the box.

My buddy and I weighed out 20 fat packs...everything above 24.5 grams had a color or auto...we did this after purchasing before we divided up the packs so that neither of us went "hitless" pulled 4 autos and 2 purples on those 20 packs...so not a bad 120 dollar rip...pulled a green refractor oncard Encarnacion was the best card...nothing Dominguez at all...poop! Awesome video tho, keep em comin.

I do this method myself because I got tired of buying expensive boxes and getting junk so now I just go into target etc and buy single packs so I do weigh I’ve found a lot of relics numbered cards and even a 1 of 1 printing plate but packs with autos and relics will sometimes even be lighter than a regular pack because they contain less cards sometimes two to three cards less so I always buy the heavys and also the lightest pack of the group

You never know on these. Have opened 8 of these packs, unweighed, and I didn't pull an auto, but got lucky and pulled a Dominguez gold #13/50. That pack had a Paulson base as the last card. 8 packs, 5 color- gold, 2 purple, and two blue. 2 Dominguez base, one each Witt and Paulson base, not had.

I like the blue Jasson insert. Always like seeing the Heavy Pack videos too.

What if you sold just heavy packs on eBay as a way to justify an increased price and also give buyers a guarantee on getting a hit? Would the ROI long term be worth doing that?

The player initials can be a bit of a giveaway on the slow roll. FWIW, I think it's good you share what people are out there doing. The more you know is a true saying!

Honestly don't think ive been more pissed as a reborn collector than I was today, while in line waiting to look at cards at Walmart since they have them next to the smallest line in the store and everyone seemed to be using that register I noticed two guys a couple customers ahead of me. When the line moved they started pulling up boxes of packs and setting them on a shelf next two them basically every box of jumbo packs. I said you're not planning to buy all those are you? They said no we're just going to be weighing them. I never knew people weighed packs till your video a few months ago and ive never seen it done till today. I went around the people in front of me and grabbed packs out of their boxes before they could start weighing them. Anyway this just about turns me back off the hobby, that and the fact people do go in and buy everything before anyone else can shop. It's not a fun hobby anymore like it was when I was a kid, and there's no way I'm paying Ebay prices to these people to open packs even though everyone else does so it will never stop. Oh well just my rant today.

I hate it when people are weighing boxes!! It doesn't give those a chance to get something good and I actually caught someone doing it and I yelled at him and almost took the scale and broke it.

More annoying then the scale is that no one can find these in retail or at online retail because bots and whatnot have scooped them up for people like Phil to buy hahaha.

That Orange Dominguez I pulled was actually facing forward, but that's the only auto I've had facing forward.

So if packs with hits weigh differently then dont unopened boxes with hits weigh more? Prob not a good idea to buy these boxes from StockX or eBay if that’s the case

Great video people need to know that people know how to pull good stuff out of a pack and then sell the rest of the stuff on the side. Try to explain this to people pack searching weighing and a few other shuffling of the cards and packs can let you know if you have hits or not. Unfortunately the people that do this usually won't ever share secrets knowing that other people do it. But those honest people trying to just buy something and pay a premium for it are getting ripped off more often than not. It's just part of the hobby and it's hard to find somebody that you can always trust to buy from unless you're purchasing direct a lot of times. I sometimes even questions some of the big boys that sell stuff because those people that work and those warehouses can do the same thing.

Did you not realize that all of the autos have the player's initials in the middle card code? There isn't any suspense when you know players' initials.

as a former drug dealer myself, my advice is to TARE the scale before every use.

Hey Phil, just so u know, you can tell who the auto is when you expose the number of the card, as their initials are the last couple letters. So kinda were giving it away by showing number first. Great video as always

I've opened one pack of Bowman 2020 and got a Gavin Lux base auto... not bad for only opening a single pack haha

This is good info for all but especially young collectors who spend their allowance or first job money on cards! I love to rip and I love the surprise and mystery that goes with it! I just opened 2 Opening Day megas from Target that were searched 🤬 How low are you to reseal opening day? The plastic wrap on the box was melted together on the side! So beware of all the scams because nothing is too low for some people! It should be easy to see who loves this hobby and who doesn’t!

I want to see the other mojo packs that weigh less to see if you were 100% right.
