My dad and us boys were working on a fence one day and lightning struck it somewhere down the line. Dad was splicing wire and it knocked him back to the ground. He took his boots off because he thought the lightning had blown out both feet.

My mom was married on horseback on a cattle ranch in Sonoma California. She married the Ranch manager, Richard Cave. That's all I'll say about that.
