BAARN - A major collision with a fire engine this afternoon on Amsterdamsestraatweg in Baarn. The fire engine of the Baarn post was en route to a report of a forest fire on Hilversumsestraatweg. Just beyond the Emma bridge it went completely wrong due to a still unknown cause. Presumably the fire truck ended up on the roadside due to a fall-back maneuver, where it also took a lamppost. With a good pace the car came back on the road, where it probably got an extra sweep due to the splashing water and ended up on its side. The colossus moved a few meters over the asphalt and came to a halt against an oncoming car. A car behind it also suffered minor damage. In the accident, four passengers of the fire engine and one passenger of the passenger car were injured. They were taken to hospitals with ambulances. The exact circumstances of the accident are being investigated. The fire engine was salvaged and taken to the police station in Huizen. Here, the Traffic Accident Analysis (VOA) of the police will read the fire engine among other things. The forest fire on Hilversumsestraatweg turned out to be a small fire and was dealt with by the Soest fire brigade.
