VN24 - Soest / Germany - On Monday morning (1 July) a semi-trailer truck overturned on the A44 motorway. The Czech driver was seriously injured in the accident. He was on his way with the truck towards Dortmund around 6.25 a.m. on the right lane of the A44. Shortly after the Soest junction, he left the lane to the right for unknown reasons. There, the semi-trailer truck got onto the unpaved shoulder and finally tilted onto the right side into an embankment. Witnesses freed the 51-year-old driver from his cab. An ambulance took him to a hospital. The right lane of the A44 had to be closed at the scene of the accident for salvage until the evening hours, as first the entire load of champagne bottles had to be salvaged and reloaded.
