Dylan. Been watching and subbed to you probably since you posted your first few videos when you only had a handful of subs. Its super inspiring to see how you have grown as a collector, creator and business runner. I always struggled with having an online presence and after the last year I have had, which have changed a lot of things in my life, my resolution is to be more present and engaged with this incredible community that I have been a part of since I started collecting back in 2013. I just turned 24, work in a small local record shop, and one day I aim to make the jump and have a place with my own spin on things. Thanks for the great videos man, always look forward to watching em. 👍
Hi Dillon, The Stones bootleg rabbit hole is very deep! Last I looked there were over 500 titles and counting. I have 2 or 3 hundred of 'em. Thanks for sharing.
Man. Not kidding you. I’m planning on a road trip up east coast for fun and record shopping. Your place is numero one. I hope you have at least one Led Zeppelin bootleg
I found a first mono pressing of the freewheelin Bob Dylan in an antique mall for $20 that's NM too. Its so cool finding such a famous record in that condition. Priceless.
Hi Dylan, another great and absorbing video but I particularly liked the personal piece at the end. It’s good to try and inspire people beyond the world of vinyl. Very selfless of you … hats off to Dylan 👍
What a great find! A friend of mine in high school had an original London release with the ventricular album cover, too. I remember as a kid in the seventies when cereal boxes contained sports cards, rings and other fun stuff with those images. They're much more fun when under the influence of certain psychedelic substances, which was the point with Majesty! lol
Nice video. Always appreciate the heavy rotations. I was looking at your new record wall and I have bought ten of those records (reissues)from your previous videos. That's pretty sweet. Thanks again.
You need to do an update tour of your music room. That would interest me and I am sure your followers. You content is never boring and informative I love collecting music and you have exposed me to more music.
Mornin' Dylan.you know, usually when a friend brings you a load of Stones, it's to fill in the driveway😁 always great to see what you've been into. Edit: great New York story, hadn't heard it yet
Congratulations on your 10k! I’m a big dude trying to get healthy and gain back more mobility. A little at a time I’m getting there. Love that new record wall and I’m going to check out 49 Winchester. Thanks Amigo!
Man, that Dylan record has me drooling! Tommy Burton and I will hunt that one down from you haha. Nice listens, I've been enjoying the Stones Mono as well!
I have an original WLP of Steve Young's Rock Salt & Nails. Bought it for $2 back in the 80s. I've never seen one other than this before, only pictures of it on A&M inner sleeves. Amazing sound, near mint. Don't all A&M WLPs sound different than the other releases? I guess I only have a few.
Howdy bearded fellow collector with good taste. Take that bro! :) You should check out Endless Boogie and Carlton Melton. Both great bands. Jawbreaker is good!! In the 90s you had many good bands like punky noise guitar bands like Godheadsilo, Elevate,...
Hi Dillon, do you know the swedish rockband The Hellacopters? They're my favourite band of all time and they got some pretty rare vinyls to collect. Would be amazing to see them more on this channel, plus I think you would like their music!
Andrew Loog Oldham (Stones manager) enlisted a guy named Billy Nicholls to make a record as an answer to "Pet Sounds". The arranger and bassist on the album was John Paul Jones. The album, "Would You Believe?", has the highest prices I have seen on discogs. Someone paid $9800 for an original copy on Immediate Records. And for the only original currently up for sale the asking price is $17K.
In 2019 I once saw a tribute to Rolling Stones at Hurtwood polo club in Surrey. (The Stranglers were there that's why I went) and the guy from the Sterophonics. It was a tribute to that album you showed "Their Satanic magic request". JJ said to me it was a shambles backstage. Run by people who thought it was still in the 1960s!. He couldn't believe there were still people like that in 2019. At an event like that JJs reputation always goes before him. The Sterophonics had everything laid out for them. But the stranglers set got cut short by 30 minutes because they were just terrified by them. JJ tried to calm the mood backstage by telling them about their song "La Folie" being about the same subject matter as "Too much blood"!. And that he had changed from the late 70s!. But no they couldn't wait to get rid of them!. They did play "Around and Around" though.
I have a question. What pricing labels do you use that won't ruin record covers? (I detest Goodwill's new record cover ruining labels they use now) Not price gun labels, but larger labels you can write on? I sell records on my antique mall booth, but all I use are sticky notes that don't stick very well. lol I need them to peel off easily so that the antique mall can stick them to a piece of paper so they can be filed. Thanks.
This one slipped in during (my) night time so I'm a bit late. Trivia: David McCallum’s father David McCallum Snr. played violin in the orchestra on The Beatles ‘A Day in the Life’.
Hey Dylan, love your videos and have based my re-buy (back into vinyl after selling my records some years ago) collection on many of your recommendations. One thing I have noticed about your recent (in the new room) videos is that the sound volume isn't as good as it was. Perhaps you have changed the microphone set up or maybe it's just my old ears. Anyway, keep up the great work.
Well, this is how low it is before I edit them, when I edit them, I turn the volume up. On some of the heavy rotation videos, I don’t edit I just put the video up. I’ll try to do better.
Take a bit get a router and make a groove to keep your records safe. The angle is very important as well as the size of the groove so no damage is done to the spine.
Way before your time, David McCallum played Illya Kuryakin, the Russian partner to Robert Vaughn's Napoleon Solo on the original The Man From U.N.C.L.E. TV show. More recently he is Duckie on NCIS ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ 🌴 📸
