Killer stuff as always. Intriguing African LPs too. Damn the Roland P Young...bigtime want. I've had the reissue for many years and dip into that bad boy regularly. Excited to see that Atomic Forest make its way to you!

Not all Goodwills pull the vinyl and put it on their website. I found a Blue Note Blue Mitchell "Bring It Home To Me" 1966 pressing, along with Elmo Hope, Fats Navarro, Howlin' Wolf and Mississippi Fred McDowell records at Goodwill on Memorial Day. I try to go nearly every day to see what pops up. I have found many good records there. It's been over 20 years that I have found a Blue Note record at a thrift store until this past Memorial Day. Porcupine Tree is fantastic. Glad you dig Steven Wilson solo project as well.

You're costing me money. Love the new channel 'find that record' I'm raiding the local record shops in Soho here (London) for those rare and hard to find albums, soul/jazz/funk from Ghana etc and finding gems. Thankyou Dillon. Love your vids. Brilliant.

Mudslide was my first bootleg, TMQ pastel green sleeve rubber stamped title, dark green vinyl. Cost me £2.25 (proly less than $5] around about this time in 1973.

On whatnot a couple weeks ago I found 2 gospel records that I thought was unique. It's called Beacon of hope chapel singers- over the walls. It's a gospel record recorded in 1972 by the inmates. It's unique, doesn't sound the best as far as how it was recorded, but the guy had 2 sealed copies so I jumped on it. Those inmates can sing some gospel! Great listen.

Hey Dillon, have you heard Spacemen 3? I reckon you’d like them - British 80s stoner psychedelia, sort of long repetitive songs. Really great stuff. Their first album has a 13th Floor Elevators cover on it but the ones to really check out are the 2nd and 3rd records, The Perfect Prescription and Playing With Fire. Haven’t really seen you talk to much about that era, would be interested to know what you think!

Yo Dillon: May I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you listen to those Porcupine Tree albums before lettin' them slip away. I am a huge fan o' their earlier albums 'n these are my faves: Signify...Insignificance...The Sky Moves Sideways...Up The Downstair...Stars Die: The Delerium Years...Coma Divine...'n Voyage 34: The Complete Trip. My introduction was listenin' to the radio 'n bein' so taken by what I was hearin' I pulled over to a pay phone 'n called the radio station. The song was Sever from the album Signify. There's an alternate demo version from Insignificance that is equally as mind blowin'! Hope you get a chance to experience all o' dem goodies.

You and I have very similar tastes in music. I, too, have been recommended Porcupine Tree a bunch and never really dove in. I will eventually. To the friend pushing Porcupine Tree to me, I recommended Fever Tree in retort, and he declined. I guess we're in a musical stand-off, so to speak. 😁🤷🏻‍♂️

You should do a video on how to find bootlegs because I love them but can’t find them since Discogs and eBay doesn’t allow their sale. I don’t really understand why bootlegs from decades ago can’t be sold. I can understand modern unofficial pressings being banned, but with old bootlegs the damage is already done and collectors should be allowed to buy them.

You need to give a good listen to Steven Wilson / Porcupine Tree. His solo stuff is all amazing. Give Hand. Cannot. Erase. a listen. Amazing concept album. Never repeats himself. Try Porcupine Tree's Fear of a Blanket. It will not disappoint. Cheers!

Fear of a Blank Planet is a great LP. Glad to see another Porcupine Tree fan here! Also killer releases from PT are In Absentia and Recordings. I recommend Blackfield, another PT side project and Pineapple Thief (another PT side project) including Gavin Harrison of Porcupine Tree) if you haven't already checked them out.

Want some new blood. Try lilac time and Aztec camera. Best zep boots are the German leg of their 1973 euro tour. Their first and fourth nights at la. Forum 1977 and their Frankfort 1980 show.. warning these are so incredible they will ruin you for the rest of zeps music.
@matthewberlyant467
@matthewberlyant467 Год назад
I recommend Aztec Camera's High Land, Hard Rain to everyone. Parts might be a bit too '80s for some in terms of production, but for the most part, it's straight-up indie-pop heavily influenced by late '60s psychedelic pop stuff like Love, et al. Before signing to Rough Trade and Sire, they were on the great, short-lived Postcard label alongside Orange Juice, The Go-Betweens, etc. And Roddy Frame was only a teenager when he wrote those songs, too.
