Hello Daniel James! Your tutorials are really excellent! I'm learning a lot from you, both on composition and VSTs! Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge with us!
Terrific walkthrough Daniel! I just purchased Gravity after you're overview and liking the gripping sounds, very cool! Say, have you heard of a Library called, "Oracle" by Strezov Sampling? It could be up you're alley. Peace!
look man, i was just going back thru ya classical stuff and i thought if you just created a course teaching people how to make that type of music on every thing i love u'll be a freaking multi double triple billionaire.. man them track are the SHIT fo real.
Daniel other then the cool modulation options, doesn't RISE&HIT do pretty much the same thing? I have Komplete 10 along with Time+Space's Whoosh Designer so I have all of the whoosh bang stuff covered. But damn...all that giddy excitement, you make it look like too much fun :) decisions decisions
Informative vid, thanks Daniel. Staggering to consider what's offered on a plate (well ok, many plates) by the likes of Heavyocity nowadays, whereas not so very long ago this stuff would have been wonderfully exciting and outlandish and required loads of courage, care, knowledge, craft, skill, imagination and blood-sweating to produce. (Cynical? Yep. I'm all for hi-tech assistance but where's the soul-threatening struggle these days?) My one question is this: can't see where that pervasive 'verb comes from. Is it Heavyocity's or yours? If theirs, can it be changed or disabled? Problem is, it's the one thing that never changed and tended to become, for me at least, somewhat wearisome.
Easily the most powerful and useful tool for soundscapes...probably ever. The only thing that would make it better is being able to use your own source samples.
I'm sure some one has already asked you this else where, but I was wonder what plug ins you use on your master bus. Also do you use any particular plug ins for mixing the tracks (massenburg eq, etc). Lastly, do you master your tracks or do you just bounce it down with a limiter at the end of your master?
Great evaluation Daniel! I'm just considering to get it along with Ensemble Drums and you helped me made my mind ;) Regarding panning, eq-ing, filtering, etc - are you using Ableton for that or rather built-in Kompakt/Instruments capabilities ? I see most of the midi tracks are in Center from DAW perspective hence asking . I'm guessing you can set some stuff directly in the plugin and things like automation in Ableton... Thanks !
Hey Daniel I had a qwestion. I am pretty new to score writing with samples . I have a an old midi keyboard, kontakt and fl studios . I was wandering if there was anything that I'm missing. Tools that would make the process a bit easier?. Any recommendations would be much appreciated. Thanks.
Great video, Daniel! Will the rest of the live stream make it on to RU-vid as the previous streams? I quite enjoy being able to rewatch your live shenanigans :D
Hey Daniel, first of all, really love your livestreams, keep it up :D second of all, I'm writing some music for a thriller film I've produced and I'd really appreciate some advice/thoughts on how to approach that.
Hi James, excellent, I wanna ask you something about what software do you use to récord vídeo stream with your DAW, I have camtasia but I don't know how to make it work with my daw cubase
Hey Daniel, I forgot to ask you this during the live stream but will you be doing an overview of emotive strings in the future? By the way I thought the live stream was really good felt like a 4 hour masterclass haha
Daniel James Wait until you're having like a shitty day or if its raining outside then crack a real emotional song out ha whilst staring out the window of a moving car ha
