Baby doll you took this 65 old year back to great good old days when music (jazz) was music. I would jam to work looking at the Monterey Bay as I would descend down the hill!! Love it you rocked it!!!! Thank you ❤
This young man is still growing into his sax, but he already has lots of skills. His rendition of "90 Degrees in The Shade" by Heavyshift is outstanding!! Jeremy you are outstanding playing the Sax on this classic song ...Don't stop playing. Keep em coming kid!! Dusty's Radio 1390!
The ultimate music. My all time favourite. You have complimented very well. In response to previous comment - Funky Acid Jazz is probably what I would call it.
You completely rocked it all the way through with that mad saxophone work! Hands down, just excellent from start to finish and it was a real pleasure to listen to!
I love that song and I really dug your performance. I also really liked your improv parts. but I suspect they are not improv but rather carefully composed over the years. I also liked how you made it sound like a second horn in the original recording rather than just a guy playing over a record. Great job all around. I’m going to add this to my favorites. Well done my good man.... well done
Hiya - I'm the other half of Heavyshift - keys/organ player William South - most amusing to hear your vibes on our hit! Keep up the good work - I'll forward the link to John - am sure he'll be most flattered by your efforts!
MISTERSOUTH your band is awesome beyond words.Your keyboard work on this particular tune reminds me of "Crystal Blue Persuasion" by Tommy James mixed with Lonnie Jordan of War.Of course you put your own flavor in it.Beautiful.
I gave it a listen about seven times today..........the cover is sick man.....it sounds 3D overlay the sound track and it sounds like the horn section from Earth Wind and Fire combined with the horns from the band Chicago... Sweet sounds and as I said the intro was sick... Fills too. I'm a drummer and piano player.....play everything from swing bee bop hip hop to jazz and fusion.....check out Russ Freeman and the Rippingtons, Yellowjackets old school George Benson etc. again a real nice job sir.... Keep playing hard Rocco
Never play over others solo (the organ) when you are the lead through the whole track. You are a good sex man, but never step in someone's limelight . Good work.
Amazing that you played so tight over the original recording... Particularly at the start and those glisses. I thought it was a backing track originally.
This is awesome!!! I know this is an old post, but where did you find the sheet music for this. I can't find it anywhere. Did you just listen to it and figure it out?
Great job. It has inspired me to play again. I know you said you " play by ear" but where could I get sheet music for Heavy Shift 90 degrees in the shade?
Jeremy, First of all, you have my cousin's last name, so you're alright from the start.... Hahha Secondly, The intro was smokin and the fills.....in my opinion are sick dude... All I can say is "Jay Beckenstein (Spyro Gyra) Brooklyn , New York....watch out for this guy.... I enjoyed every minuet and I wouldn't change a thing..... Good luck... Rocky
