Wow - best Bible study ever! NOTE: I've always wondered - "SHINAR" - "CHINA" ??? In research long ago it said that the people of China (and maybe Mongolia) had migrated to the east from there. WHAT CAN YOU FIND? Maybe Chinese historians (and their pictographic language) may be able to give some excellent info. This question fascinates me since I also taught there, loved the people and experience, and was taught about the first 3 emperors who had temples with lots of steps and a liturgy that had the same ideas as Tanakh. One has to be responsible for understanding the text as the "holier than thou" interpreters more than likely are interjecting their own thoughts as if that is the superior way.
