From technical side, Algorand and Hbar has nearly the same technique. There is no big difference between DAG and a Blockchain. I like Algorand more because it is more decentral. Everybody can run a participation node on Algorand and there are more than 100 relay nodes.

Thank you for the good job you're doing. A quick correction on the staking rewards distribution about a year ago now. Nowadays, you have to commit your Algos to the governance of the protocol and must vote for the proposals put forward to qualify for the rewards.

Loved it buddy... Thanks for the details and your hard work.. I have one more doubt, so hedera can increase Tps through sharding.. However I am under the impression that sharding breaks down the network into smaller components so that each of those components can process more transactions, but this also makes these smaller component more vulnerable to attacks. What are your thoughts?

Algorand is ICO + PoS consensus, and the economic of scale, PoS and PoW tend to centralize by years. So yeah, HBAR with no doubt is gonna dominate the whole market, HBAR is the next google 🔥

Excellent as always, and an hour to boot, that’s a lot to cover. I’m nitpicking here but if I may make a suggestion, perhaps an agenda slide at the beginning. Much like a PP presentation or a meeting with a client, it sets the tone on what you’ll be covering. An example would be: -Founders and History -Decentralized -Security -speed -use cases/future. If you want to get even trickier you can timestamp these then too. Anywho, excellent video overall, you should make a video collection/series folder in your RU-vid channel to separate the various videos you do. Keep it up!

Loved this video. One thing I’ve never figured out with the governing council is do that actually hold hbar ? Do they have skin in the game? Technically Google could buy up all the hbar tokens in circulation. Idk just something I’ve never been able to figure out with these big names in hbar

Thanks Ri Gonz, some do and some don’t, they have something far more important to them as skin in the game though which is their time and their reputations. Google couldn’t buy all the supply, if they tried the more they bought the higher the price would go, by the time they got anywhere near just 1 Billion coins the price would be $10 the $100 etc.

Yep. I totally agree with the bottom line finding. However, Hedera do need to up the pace. To many important things are languishing. eg. No of GC council members, No of Txns, No of nodes, etc, etc. Things should be moving faster and I cannot understand why they aren`t.

Thanks for the comment Richard I really appreciate it. Things seem to happen in large jumps not in a slow incline. I believe Hedera will get to where we want it to be and where it should be but it’ll happen in big jumps then not much action then another big jump etc.

High quality videos mate great stuff. My only problem is what is goal behind the vs series, HBar could be the next big thing or could fail adaptation or better tech coming. I think it is wiser to advocate to diversify your investment. I did notice that the xrp, hbar, quant have a cult like following generally. With that being said, I would love to know your opinion ( not vs hbar haha ) on any of cspr, rune, link, kda, radix, Mnw, rose and azero. Those are all quality. Semi joking, the cult of xrp quant hbar do like cspr and some do Mnw, so there is that. Cheers take it easy

There’s a lot of tribalism in all the projects at the moment, that’s true but that’ll change as the communities grow. I believe in diversification and I’ve said that a superior technology could be invented tomorrow that would make Hedera obsolete but I doubt it and we have to invest in things that exist today.

What I don’t like about Hbar, that made me sell and go into Algorand was the fact that since Hbar reached in the .50 cents area, circulation supply has continuously increased putting downward pressure on the price, only meaning that Hedera has been dumping onto the market.

There are a few utility digital assets thar does not always follow BTC. QNT Being one of them. Also XRP & XLM may have decoupled from BTC.. Time will tell as we progress, but at some point when utility kicks in the assets mentioned, along with a few others, will run independently from bitcoin

A1: if Hedera gains the same market cap as Eth then it would be priced at circa $3 per Hbar. I believe $1 is very possible, $5 is about fair value for where Hedera is at the moment and where it could be with the right GC member or announcement like SpaceX is anyone’s guess 🚀 A2: not really, Eth has an unlimited supply technically and Ripple has double the supply of Hedera. Market cap and value aren’t the same thing though, it’s important to understand that.

Good general overview but you did not cover the difference in consensus mechanisms. I believe that this goes to both a security and scalability.. I would be interested in your opinion. I have always thought of HBAR as a good corporate solution but I think it will run into security issues beyond that due to how it does consensus.

Thank you professor Max. That was the best aBFT / BFT lesson that I've seen. You killed it. I can't compete with your videos and that's OK. I can support your hard work as anyone can. Had I been an ALGO "family" member instead of a Hederian, I would have been disarmed and unable to criticize you as being unfair as you closed that door over and over. I also have no complaints regarding the length as I know your time was multiples of what I invested. Great !

Algorand has 6k tps for all types of transaction. Please update your video. It is inaccurate at point of release, was that deliberate?. Also the algorand consensus is the most optimized pos available due to randomized node selection which also renders attack vectors for your "slowing down" scenario not a risk in practice for it's bft implementation. Sub 4sec deterministic finality each and every time.. also Algo tx price is fixed variable. Can be adjusted under agreement. ps. I hold both Hedera and Algo.

Thanks David W, at the time of filming the information was accurate. In very simple terms I don’t think anyone is arguing that aBFT is not substantially more secure than BFT, there are plenty of BFT projects out there, I only know of one aBFT secure project and that’s Hedera (although DAG claims to be).

@@MWalkerWilliams the point is that not all bft protocols are the same and some are much more resistant to the kind of attack you mentioned. Micali has devised algorand bft protocol to be resistant specifically to this kind of attack thru randomness and delayed verifiability using the vrfs he co-invented. Hedera is great too, ultimately for most high volume tx flow use cases (iot, gaming, activity tracking etc).. I see them both prospering.

Absolute agree that both are far superior to competition but I’m comparing them to each other in this video and like for like Hedera is more energy efficient. You could argue it’s as good as makes no difference but not that per transaction Algorand is less efficient than Hedera, that’s a fact and is far from spurious.

Hi Max, I'm absolutely certain, UCL completed their energy usage survey prior to joining the Hedera GC. This was covered in an interview with Mance. He also mentioned that the results of UCL's energy usage survey, was a huge part of their decision to become a GC member. I'll try and find the interview and send you the link. Alogrand proof of stake model implies not all nodes are created equal and I am not referring to their veto power. Any nodes that holds a special status is a security risk. This is why Hedera's model is still superior to that regard, no one holds a different status than what is staked.
