*I've used the term "Tidal connect" incorrectly in this video. I controlled the device (hegel) with Tidals' "connect" feature within its app, however, this is likely airplay rather than full connect as the product isn't listed in Tidal connects official list.*
I have the H95 and am very happy with it (using it with Dynaudio Evoke 30s). Replacing the fuse that comes with the H95 with an SR Purple fuse made it sound even fuller and more dynamic without altering its basic sound characteristics, so it's highly recommended! Thank you very much for this series!
@@funcionyforma I am going to guess that the glass fuses were replaced with ceramic type fuses. I think the SR purple is a audiophile branded fuse. The back of the unit says 4AT - it has been a while but I think that is 4amp slow acting.
Nice review…I have the H95 and think it’s a great first step into actual high end quality hifi. You get a amp, preamp, Dac and streamer for under 2k … that’s really good value.
I had decided to go ither emotiva ta2 or emotiva pt2 plus the basx a2 having come across hegel h95 I would love to see a comparison . two thumbs up for your RU-vid hegel reviews.
Sorry not trying to be judgemental. but as for emotiva and hegel their is not comparison. Totally different league. I have had both. Emotiva is a good budget with a lot of volume. Hegel is precise in music reproduction.
@@jasonme3557 Thanks for the reply, but all change here I bought a Prima Luna evo 100 Integrated amp instead . As it happens i'm working on a new problem. I have seen the perfect DAC, RME ADI-2 DAC FS ; But all my hifi gear from power converter on, are all along one wall and nether the RME nor the Prima Luna give me wireless controle so I presume i'm looking for a streamer preferably with at least Internet Radio?
@@johnh539 that is awesome. Well if you want the best of both. I just got the gold note dac. They are half off 1600 DAC and streamer... Like the Prima Luna.
Thanks for your great channel and reviews. If I have to choose between 95 and 120 what's your recommendation , if I'm interested only in sound quality? Kind regards and best wishes
Hi, i went for this one time ago althoug was so hyped for the h120 after your vídeo. I got the chance to upgrade now yo the h120, but i'm not sure it will be a significant listening experience over the h95. Do you think is worth it or maybe I should save some more for a bigger jump?
@@tomasznowak3223 thanks for your insight, can you elaborate some more? Wich difference did you find if any? Have you compare them with the h190?. Thanks in advance
Hello. I wonder if Hegel's theory is that the higher the better. it's better to buy h95 or h120 for bookshelf speakers. Will there be a difference in sound or just power? I've never listened to the basic Hegel models, but I can see that a lot of people are satisfied. I'm thinking about the Kef LS50 Meta or R3 Meta because apparently it will sound very good with the Hegel. Dynaudio evoke 20 and special 40 are also beautiful.
No, unfortunately not. I've used the term "Tidal connect" incorrectly in this video. I controlled the device (hegel) with Tidals' "connect" feature within its app, however, this is likely airplay rather than full connect as the product isn't listed in Tidal connects official list.
