I have watched near every Heian Nidan video available getting ready for an N.I. tournament. Yours is the best by far. You are so fast and sharp you make my Kata look like a snail's pace. Your kimé is so powerful. Well looks like I am watching your video every day until the end of Feb at least.

Thanks great vid. My Kata for this month. Been doing a Kata a month for the last two years. Had knee surgery in 2020. Nice to be able to train again. Lower foundation was very week. Spent 6 month just on Tekki Katas to rebuild my legs. Very good form. Oss.

Gravity of feet + Hip rotation+speed + Good Technique= Power Kata Actually, there can be numerous components so it’s hard to pin point on just a few, but those 4 are definitely important.
Wow! I appreciate this so much. I am entirely new to this sport/art/practice, but it has connected in my brain and soul and I am hungry to learn. As an older female, it's so helpful to see the application of the kata; how these moves are applied in a sparring situation. I'll be replaying these for hours....
Your stances are very wide.... Wow. True to the original art from the ancient village of Shuri in Okinawa. My stances are much tighter, but I do appreciate Shuri style of Te. 😎
Nice kata, well performed. Seriously, a person is going to block a punch like the first move in Heian Nidan? I understand it's the excepted bunkai in Shotokan ( which I've been studying for over 20 years and still do ) but what if that's not what it's for? 10 million people can't be wrong you might say, well more than that voted for Trump in 2016. What do I think it's for? I haven't got a clue. My current view at the moment is kata is basically kinetics. It has fighting skills included along with stretching, balance, muscle gain, along with instilling a positive mental attitude but most of the moves have no deep meaning or even no obvious meaning, they are there to unite other moves and benefit the body and mind. Of course I could be wrong.
just for everyone, THIS is the beginners bunkai and is just for practise purposes. DONT DO THAT BUNKAI in a fight, there is a deeper one hidden in the kata that actually works
