Ivan, kata is important for developing fundamentals (stances, guard, look-find-commit, balance, footwork) for ENTRY POINTS TO ALTERNATIVE APPLICATIONS. In other words, kata shows you multiple ways of dealing with the same attack. Much is actually hidden in kata. You always need a Plan B if Plan A doesn’t work.
