I suggest having a paper with bullet points on it, and ranting point by point. A sort of structured spontaneity.

My Ni Ti preferring over my 6th Fi has been coming across as either annoying, dismissing of morals, or angelic, (all morally loaded judgements that i don't think are necessary) when i explain my pov to Fi users that people who they have decided are making bad choices as bad people, my way of saying "they are a victim of circumstances, they're sick, they're sad insecure people looking for comfort, abusers are desperately afraid of the world looking for a sense of control in any way possible" even infp:s who are said to always look for the "potential good" in people and are open to the ambiguity of good vs bad, maybe the way i speak of people as they are things i guess is what creates confusion. As an infj i feel like i come across as incredibly cold to Fi users, and i have actually internalized this point of view and felt guilty. I've understood 6th function works as a critic of oneself and i guess i've took it too far at times. I've also tried to be an intp and i have to say both trying to prefer fi or to be Ti Ne is making us sick, because it makes anyone sick trying not to be what you aren't. Ne was also really good for being funny and quick on the internet but i have to make it shut up because i know my true potential, what i am actually interested in is very much just pure Ni. As a very young infj i thought i had so much in common with the Fi doms since they are oh so sensitive souls too but as an adult i've come to the conclusion that i'm just a really, reaaallly slow and really sensitive estp. It's difficult to comment without rambling. Probably way off topic.

I enjoy the categorization of the function axis into “fair-minded” and “goal-oriented”. Your description of the differences between the Beta Quadra(coming from the mountain to the city) and Delta Quadra (going from the city to the mountain) creates a very interesting image. I would like to hear (know) more about what you think regarding the Gamma and Alpha Quadra. The Gamma having both Goal-Oriented axis and Alpha having both fair minded axis. I believe I am in the Alpha Quadra. I agreed with your description about Alpha types often wanting the self to disappear at times and being interested in Buddhism/Zen ideas. I find it very difficult to speak to and have good dialogue over long periods of time with members of the Gamma Quadra. I find that at times they see me in a similar fashion to how Donald Trump saw Jeb Bush (“low energy”). They have the ability to frighten me. I also like your description of Heidegger’s use of Si/Ne. He, Hegel, and Nietzsche bother me at times because of the Fi/Te axis. I prefer the Ti/Fe of Kant, Spinoza, Wittgenstein and Parfit. It seems an individual’s preferences for schools of thought can be greatly influenced by type preference.

Well, I'm super glad and validated that you like my approach to things! Yay! As for the Gamma and Alpha quadras: I'm not sure if I have much more to say than what I've so far said in videos...I mean, not that I've exhausted my thoughts, but just that more thoughts are still in embryo, as it were. I will say that my theory would imply that Alpha and Gamma types would have a harder time understanding each other, while Delta and Beta types would be more of a "thru-line" between them. However, I've always felt somewhat uncomfortable about according my own quadra (or any quadra) with what seems like a more privileged status. Delta and Beta types seem to have a kind of mirror love-hate relationship, where they sometimes really get each other and other times are marching to different drum-rhythms. In my experience, I'm inclined to believe that Gamma and Alpha types have the same thing at times, and aren't actually MORE alienated from each other than Delta and Beta. But I'm not sure how that would work in theory.

Absolutely enjoyed the talk. I'm an ENFJ, and this was something I've really struggle to explain in concrete terms. Thank you for this.

Does this mean that Si/Fi users are easier to have a conversation with since they might not be as sensitive as Ni/Te users of having their vision challenged? If I compare an INFP friend and my INTJ brother, it is so much easier to share my understanding of something with my INFP friend. There seem not to be any conflicts and we can explore ideas together whereas with my INTJ brother is getting stuck on ideas i present, because my ideas usually challenges his idea of the world I'm thinking (NiTe vision). With my INFP friend, we both feel like we talk about peaces to a much larger puzzle in which open mindedness is important and we are not part of the equation since there is a more objective truth out there. I think that heavy Ni users could learn to listen better on other peoples ideas and not personally feel as they cannot breath when ideas are presented to them. I am an ISTJ myself. On another thing you mentioned, my ENFP mother and I disagree a lot on social grace. Whereas I could not care less about what people think about me and adjust the topics I like to talk about to other people my mother seem to look at what is appropriate to talk about in a given situation. I don't feel as I even have that option to understand what is appropriate and I think it could be due to a week Fe. At the same time it is nice to not give a fuck sometimes in social situations although people might feel as it is hard to get to know me and likewise, hard for me to get to know others unless I meet people in a one to one situation and they are willing to not be polite and speak what they feel and think about things. In genearl, Fe heavy conversations are hard for me to take part of and I rather stay on the sidelines in those cases.

Let me give you a metaphor to better understand the Ne vs. Ni "conflict". Both are looking for gold (a metaphor for grasping the Situation/"Truth") but the Ne user is a Prospector while the Ni user is a Miner. The Prospector is highly mobile and crosses huge swaths of land meticulously collecting nugget after nugget of gold. In his traveling he also participates in open trade of gold nuggets and the information of gold locations with other prospectors that travel the same overworld. Those nuggets over time pile up to form a huge collective understanding of the Situation/"Truth". The Miner on the other hand finds a place and starts digging down. She digs and digs and digs. She builds a whole subterranean complex of tunnels that go deep and wide. She is not satisfied with nuggets because she can't trade it with anyone, she is alone in the tunnels. The only way for her to gain a massive amount of gold is to hit the mother lode and only then bring up the wast amount of gold up to the surface to share it with other people. Now the "conflict" between those two can easily arise when one is not aware of the other ones world. The Prospector will stumble upon The Miners hole and he will say: "Oh that poor fool. There is nothing here and he is stuck in this place and is getting even more stuck the more he digs down." The Prospector is unaware of the depth and complexity of the tunnels. All he sees is a hole in the ground that just goes straight down. He is unaware of the "Vertical World". Then The Miner peers her head of of the shaft's entrance and says: "Oh you lost soul. There is nothing here on this desolate surface. You only crack the soil your shovel twice before giving up and moving to a new location. This way you will always be stuck here" The Miner is unaware of the wideness and community of the overworld. She is unaware of the "Horizontal World". If those two take a fancy to each other they will decide to help the other one which will cause more problems and miscommunications. The Miner will try to pull The Prospector down the shaft but he will only experience the anxiety of the closed up world. The Prospector will try to yank The Miner out of her hole but she will only be frustrated by the shallowness of the surface. Hopefully this helped a bit. I am an INTJ that had a lot of experience with Ne users (ENFP brother, INFP mother, ENFP friend, ENTP friend, ESFJ grandmother) and learning to understand them helped me to know when I need to stop on trying to pull them down the mine shaft and when to forgive them when they tried to pull me out of my hole. @Michael Pierce if you think this metaphor has any merit you can freely use it. I won't mind. As long as it helps people understand other people.

Thanks for the video! I can tell it was a tiring enterprise, but well worth it! Introverted sensing is THE mysterious function for me, and your remarks on everydayness did help shed some light on it. I'm super looking forward to the fairy tale video, being in a Marie-Louise von Franz phase. When you mentioned SeNi having a direct approach, it got me thinking on one of von Franz's remarks that the "instinct of truth" can only ever reliably come from the Self, intuition being 50/50 (either hitting the bullseye or getting completely lost in the woods of shadow/anima projection). I think Ni loves the feeling of being spot on in one fell swoop, as opposed to Ne-fragmentary-pointillism.

This is an interesting line of thought you're pursuing. My interpretation is that in Se/Ni, I see the world as contingent in its actuality, but my view is clear-eyed and correct. In Ne/Si, I perceive the essence of objects and all their possibilities, but I am grounded in a specific place and time. I am trapped in my me-ness. So the Ne/Si gives the illusion of reasonableness ("Hey, I'm just a guy trying to figure things out"). In truth, I think Ne is an agent of chaos and Si is here to show off all the cool scars ("I got this one when I jumped my bike off the roof", etc).

Lmao. Ne brings the chaos, Si makes it so you don't get into trouble for it! Sincerely, ENTP.

Awesome video. As an Ti-Fe Si-Ne, since I've understood the functions, I kind of noticed that most of the time Ni-Se types seem to me more well liked by people than Ne-Si types. Therefore, I was policing my thoughts and actions (In a Ne way) to be more like Ni-Se types. Your video made me realise, that I don't actually have any concrete goal behind doing that though and I was stuck in this weird loop of aligning my thoughts and actions with what seemed best to my Ne (like you describe in the video). And I was doing that in a very, very mindless kind of way, kind of like an Se type following the latest trends, almost just because everyone else is doing it (or it seems best to his/her Se), and not because it is satisfying to him/herself or other people. I think Ni-Se types could sometimes see my twisted thinking and be dissatisfied with me. And now I see that maybe they noticed that there is no goal behind how I think... and being like that doesn't seem right to myself either. But anyways, kind of eye-opening video for me. From someone who struggles a lot with his Ne, your videos about perceiving functions are always very interesting for me. Keep up the good work!

Hmm. I think I agree with your dialogue of Si on the condition of Ne in its own active sensitivity or uniformity.

“Te Fi. What is it that I want and how am I going to get it.” I find it more “what is just”, “what should be done in this situation”, “what is the greatest good?” Not necessarily looking at the subjective need of an individual, but at a greater good, even if it ruffles some feathers. And it’s altruistic.
@TheMomarorkokusos

I got the notion, that you missunderstood the functions a Bit. The system only works, If you contrast the dichotomies Well. Drin my Point of View "What is Just?" is more of a FeTi-question, having more of a General descriptive approach. "What should be done in this Situation?" Sounds more Like Te at Work, but could also be Fe, depending on the Kind of processed information. A formulation Like the "greater good" in My oppinion Most definitly resembles Fe at Work, because the percieved good ist outside of The person: The good ist objective, Not subjective. As a disclaimer i want to add, that being an Fe-Ti valuing ENFJ i could also bei biassed, because I can't really Imagine a truly altruistic Motivation Out of Fi, because of merely exclusivly Deals with the subject :D

QUESTION & REQUEST: What do you think is the relationship between IQ or intelligence and intuition? How would IQ affect intuition? What's the relationship between sensation and IQ or intelligence? May you make videos where you type: Jordan Peterson Christopher Michael Langan
