This is honestly one of the saddest moments in reality tv. Her mom was right, she had no idea how beautiful she was before the surgery.

This is when the hills took a DARKER turn and its why it will always be one of the best reality shows. It showed how a spunky, confident girl can be turned into a zombie barbie doll when she goes to hollywood.

If you pay attention to Heidi in this clip (Which is the only REAL moment of her on the show) compared to her recent interviews, she has always regretted having all of that plastic surgery. She says "This is what I chose and there is nothing I can take back" It's sad. She was pressured by Hollywood.

This scene made me think twice about plastic surgery. Yeah I might feel ugly some days or I might feel like a bigger ass or tits would make me prettier or a smaller forehead but no one looks like me, why would I jeopardize that just to look like everyone else? Thank you Heidi for that insight

This scene is a lot more powerful than people realize because not only did she go through an extreme personality change after the demise of her and Lauren’s friendship, it’s like that part of her had died and she created this new self in place of the old one. I did the exact same thing so I can really understand where Heidi is coming from and that’s why this scene will always resonate with me.

I am rewatching the show and Heidi was so beautiful before the surgery, look in season 3, she had stunning big eyes and face. How she looked after the surgery was traumatic to watch... it was the saddest moment on the show really ...

How was Heidi attacked when she asked her mom what she thought?

As much as I'm sure Heidi wanted her mom to be nothing but supportive, she's entitled to have an opinion and be concerned about what Hollywood was doing to her.

Her mom is completely right. And u what’s weird is how people are now obsessed with plastic surgery and think it’s so acceptable and healthy decision to make for the sake of vanity. People shouldn’t try to be like Barbie when we’re human beings. This obsession over flawless beauty needs to stop. It’s so unhealthy.

There should be a law that people that want to get plastic surgery for cosmetic reasons should see a licensed therapist first. People deal with body dysmorphia all the time. So sad.

I remember seeing this episode for the first time and i got such a massive shock when i saw Heidi!! 😱 she did look fresher and younger before this....she doesnt look like herself! She was beautiful before and aged herself about ten years ☹️

Heidi asked if it looked good and her mom seemed to sincerely tell the truth. It's interesting that Heidi felt an honest answer was attacking her. It was really a sad episode. The original Heidi was so pretty. She looked so much older after the surgery. Nothing wrong with aging but not sure why she wanted to speed it up. I felt so bad for everyone in this episode. Spencer was the most important person to her, I wonder if he tried to stop her back then.

As a mother i would have said the same thing if my daughter went off and got unnecessary surgery. Heidi was gorgeous in the first season

Just to add some context and balance to the comment section. She moved from a small home town to L.A which is a huge contrast for most young adults. Ontop of relocating to plastic surgery central (Cali) and also having to see herself on tv and magazines consistently the pressure felt to aspire to a more photogenic tv ready aesthetic was real. If we're being honest with ourselves most people don't feel beautiful for all the wrong reasons and most people take one hundred selfies, before they can decide on one they barely like of themselves to upload, so everyone can relate to the struggle of being very critical of one's own face n body now add L.A & Tv to the mix and imagine having that personal criticism magnified times 20 plus and unlike your camera phone u don't get to chose the best edits and angles of yourself on tv, so I can understand why alot of celebrities turn to plastic surgery. Its not healthy, but there are bases for it.

I blame Spencer for this. He could've told her she was beautiful more often. He strikes me as one of those weird white guys that will talk their girl into looking like blow up dolls to compensate for their own insecurities.

At least she admits what she’s had done instead of denying it and claiming it’s “makeup” and “exercise”, maybe if she didn’t get dissed 24/7 for her looks she wouldn’t have changed. Most celebrities can’t win because they get called ugly and basic all the time so they get surgery to change it and then get called out on that. It’s so aggravating

She was devastated by all the surgery she had, when she already was so so beautiful..maybe sometimes we need to, maybe not lie but rephrase different things, but people DO die everyday from plastic surgery mishaps! I'd be terrified that my kid would make it out of one..let alone 10. It's just sad that kids these days want to look like anyone but themselves 💔
