In this video I am doing an honest review of the Heiniger Saphir Cordless Clipper. I have been using this clipper daily for a few months now and was able to give a full and in depth review comparing it to other clippers I have used over my last 17 years of dog grooming. Please remember this is just my personal opinion on the clipper and every groomer is different in what they like in their clipper.
Where you can purchase the clipper:
In Canada: TSC, Deboer Grooming Supplies, Lynn Professional Pets, Vet clinics, Poil Luxe,
In USA: Premier1Supplies & Nasco
Thank you for watching and if you have any questions regarding the clipper please leave them in the comments and I am happy to answer them!

Hello! Thank you for your opinion. I was shocked 😲 about the price. It cost 190-230 Euro in Germany today. If you compare Wahl KM 10 and Heiniger Saphir Cord. What will the best for you?

Interesting that Heiniger claims 2700 "double strokes per minute" and I gotta wonder is that a different scale than Wahl and Andis's spm?? Or Heiniger just has more torque? Cordless makes so much sense for so many situations. Great review. First time I have really seen someone touch on intermittant internal oiling and more in depth maintenance as well. I think prices of Heinigers are coming down a little, and covid brought Wahl and Andis prices up, but sounds worth it for pros especially. We see all the Eastern Euro groom channels using Heinigers.

I am looking for a really good durable clipper that is quiet and does not heat up. I thought this one sounded quite loud in the video. How does it compare to others you have used in regards to noise? Otherwise I am sold!

Hi there thanks so much for watching. I find this clipper as far as noise to be great compared to the others. If you are using at attachment they tend to be louder and all clippers seem to get a tad louder over time but overall I don’t have much negative to say about the clipper at all.

I like it a lot but I find mine to be getting really loud. It sounds like a train coming off the track. I've even sent it to DeBoers for service. Owned for 1 year+

Hi there thanks for watching. Sorry to hear that. I haven’t been using mine for quite a year yet but to be honest every clipper I have owned and I have had many all seem to get louder and louder with age. It’s very strange but they all do it. I find it also matters why blade and comb I have in them as well.

Hi! Great review! Thanks. So I’m debating between the Saphir and the Opal but have only seen one review which includes both. I’m personally sensitive to sound and it sounds loud even though you said it was quiet. Have you tried the Opal? Maybe you can do a comparison. I’ve got a pretty big Sheepadoodle and although had her almost shaved in the summer, her hair is long again and it’s a lot of work to brush out mats, plus she’s hot inside. Anyway: which Heiniger and I didn’t see the list of places in the US that sell them, though I may have missed it. Do you know of any good comparisons of the two? Thanks, Melissa

Hi there I have not tried the opal but we have discussed doing a review on them in the future. The clipper did sound a bit loud in the video but it’s really not too bad. They all tend to get louder in time. I also find the the blade you are using and the attachment combs can make a difference with noise as well. Let us know if you end up getting one. We have listed the stores they can be purchased in but not the links. We are working on trying to get a discount code. Good luck with your decision and thanks for your support!😊🐶

The Opal is definitely more quiet. It’s also got 2 speeds which you RARELY need to use the higher speed. They are super powerful. I’ve been able to use clip combs through slightly matted fur. It’s an investment but absolutely worth every penny.

I got the Opal and it’s quite loud. Nowhere near as quiet as they promoted it as.
@janetharvey9706
@janetharvey9706 Год назад
@@funkyflips5388 there must be something wrong with it, or your blades. They need to be oiled way more than you’re used to doing. I would reach out to the company. There’s definitely something wrong.

I was debating between the Saphir cordless and the one with cord, and ended up getting the one with the cord because of the weight (330g vs 425g). Both lighter than what I was using previously, the Andis AGC2 2 Speed. I find the Saphir a bit louder than the Andis. And I'm wondering why my blades heat up faster with the Saphir vs the Andis even after oiling them. You mentioned in the video to oil even the clipper (not just the blade) - may I know which areas of the clipper? Thank you.
@FurryFriendsZone
@FurryFriendsZone 2 года назад
Hi there thanks for watching. Normally the clipper heats up the faster it runs. I suggest just having a couple blades so you can swap them out. When you change the blade assembly it’s already got a lot of oil on it but I always oil in the same area because it needs really good lubrication as well as the blade because that’s what is holding the blade on and it’s the moving part.
