Even though I know it would hdgg BFF e prevented it all, I still like Jace/Baela as a couple. Rhaena & Baela got the short end after the boys perish. 😢
Nah. THe only thing that would have prevented this is if Rhaenys had married Viserys. In fact I’m not sure sure why that match wasn’t arranged before they married other people
Aegon's look at Aemond is giving: C'mon bro, do something And Aemond's look is saying: What? I literally told you to be a good husband years ago suddenly it's my problem to fix?
Jace is so polite. Like he immediately ask her to dance, and I don’t think it was to tease Aegon, but it was to make Healena feeling and wanted. Because I think he thought: she doesn’t have just attention so maybe she will be more happy if I dance with her.
I think it was for both reason but here the change is Aegon doesn’t seem as pissed as he should’ve in the books cause it was hinted in the books that because of this dance sequence Aegon banged her the same night because of which Maelor was born within the same year. Here Aegon is looking at Aemond to clean his mess when Aemond clearly warned him years ago to treat her nicely.
It was definitely because aegon had just disrespected him by making a move on his wife-to-be right in front of him, so he did the exact same thing back to him, in a more classy way. Regardlesss I’m team green lol
@@pablogarza9150 Aegon didn’t make a move on Baela, he just asked Jace if he knew how having sex worked - which, to be fair, was only done to mock him, but it’s still not as disrespectful as trying to flirt with her. As for Jace, I’m reasonably sure he asked Helaena to dance because he felt bad that Aegon was neglecting her. I don’t think he did it to piss him off.
Noticed how Jace graciously excuses himself to his Baela before going over to Helaena and the look he gave to Aegon that clearly says “this is how you charm a woman” lol
well... she should have given herself to Blood and Cheese instead of picking a child! Sure, she'd be dead, but her 2 sons would live on. she goes crazy after that anyway and meets a terrible end. very sad.
This was the greatest speech of them all! Aegon's face during the whole speech was hilarious. Then the look he exchanges with Ahemond when Jace asks her to dance.
Aemmond is the strong one (haha) Aegon is always looking to him for a reaction. The dance was so cute.,....you can tell they did this as small children.
@@paulalowery7411 he wanted nothing to do with his cousins turned half sisters turned wife and sister in law and his uncles. He had to be told to comfort them at Laena’s funeral. But now that they are to be married it’s all cool now?? He hates Aegon and Aemond because they know the truth about his upbringing and that Aemond claimed Vhagar when no one else did. Just wish Aegon wasn’t a piece of shit and Jace/Luke kept their mouths shut, seems like it all could have been avoided
Viserys is Robert , Lyonel is Ned , Otto is Petyr , Cole is Trant , Rhaenyra is Daenerys , Daeron is Tommen , Helaena is Myrcella and Alicent is Cersei . And of course Aegon is Joff Joff 😂😂😂
Well, there are two people in this room who will survive. Actually I find it pretty funny, that the only children, who will survive all of this, are Daemons. All four of them.
This reminds me of the scene at laenas funeral where Rhaenyra sent one of her sons to laenas daughters. This ist exactly what rhaenyra taught them. She is such a good mom.
Cersei also sent Joffrey to Sansa when she was afraid and upset in the books to calm and comfort her. Rhaenyra does some ugly things and she puts her children in this position with her insistence that she sit the throne. She could have saved all their lives by just declaring them bastards and not trying to have them be heirs.
@@persephonel2117 but she's still the next in line, her kids being bastards doesn't matter in the succession line when she could just declare them legitimate during her rule
All of the kids deserved better than the bitterness of the greens. Known of this would have happened if all the kids were raised right, not just the blacks & Halaena.
@@miraafloyd it wouldn't have happened if Jahaerys would've listen to his sister-wife and give the throne to his eldest son, first born. He literally go out of his way to change a doctrine of a faith to marry her, but won't change how the throne inheritance work that could've save generations of Targaryens
Daeron The Daring is also very much like his elder sister decent, honorable, virtuous, and altruistic. Fortunately he was in Oldtown serving in Uncle Hobert's court all these years. He should be around the same age as Luke at this time.
Very interesting to see Otto as a kind of ”wholesome grandpa”, not only does he whisper to Helaena ”Good!” after the awkward toast, but then when the small fight breaks out you can see him comforting her. I love that there’s so many sides to all these characters
@@Gyc864 If that’s true then there’s literally no reason for me to continue it because that is one too many fück ups. He’s a pivotal character in the Dance, even if only briefly. I was already mad at Laenor not dying (no I have nothing against him but it’s kinda important he’s not alive), the altering of everyone’s ages/the year the Dance begins (from what I can tell), then the Rhaenys stunt, plus the building up Aegon to be genuinely horrible even though not every rumor about him in the books needed to be canon; honestly I’m so tired of these changes. Some of the changes were good, like Rhaenyra and Alicent being friends at first, Viserys having an actual illness instead of just being overweight and unhealthy, also making Daemon a bit more loving towards his family is kinda neat. But to just straight up remove relatively important characters is kinda bullshit, who’s next? Hugh Hammer? Ulf the White? Nettles? Black Aly? The Lads? It already seems like we might not get Adam and Alyn of Hull, which sucks. Maybe they’ll replace Cregan Stark and really say fück you? I wonder if we’ll even get Alys Rivers with the way they’ve been portraying Aemond. Removing Daeron, one of the VERY FEW dragon riders the Greens actually have, is a huge mistake.
@@yesterdaystomorrow5510 I'm pretty sure Cregan Stark is still part of the story. I just think they might cut out Sara Snow. In the books, both sides were grey, in the show it's good vs evil at this point.
@@Gyc864 The morality thing is yet another issue. I’m actually so sad about them going the extra mile to make Aegon out to be straight evil. His story is actually kind of tragic, being forced/coerced into stealing the throne and then suffering for it more than basically anyone else. It just feels like his story will be way too “yes he got what he deserves!” and not enough sympathy. I think the only scene I’m going to end up watching at this rate is the Battle Above Gods Eye, since I’ve been so hyped for it since the show started.
Can we just appreciate the acting of Helaena? Like she's so awkward...awkward. the actress is acting awkward and it feels natural. That's incredible talent for someone so young and whose first HETV experience on this scale is probably this.
in my opinion (idk how canon this is or not) but i kind of think she does have a mental disability of some kind that would in theory make her mentally immature for her age.
I thought that too. Sure the actress read the script and knows the ending of Jace so she probably reacted to seeing or feeling something in that scene. also for the way she was gripping his hand very tight as they walked
If alicent really loved her child she should've said yes the first time rhaenyra proposed a marriage between jace and helaena. Jace clearly takes care of his ladies better.
Remember how the realm erupted into all out civil war when it found out Joffrey was illegitimate? Remember how the whole continent marched on Kings Landing to depose a bastard son, not eligible for land or title, let alone the throne? Jace regardless of how nice, is being put into a similar position. Why would a mother betroth her daughter to someone who's going to be the bullseye of chaos like that?
@@lauren-pz4ju So all of that goes out of the window because Jace was conceived out of wedlock. I know that’s not a big deal to people in 2022, but back in the day and in the fictional world of Westeros it is. Bastards by law can’t hold land or title. Technically Jace, Luke and Joffrey Velaryon are really Jace, Luke and Joffrey Waters. It doesn’t matter that Rhaenyra is a legit Targaryen. Also of note is that Rhaenyra banging Harwin and making those three boys isn’t the issue. The issue is that Rhaenyra is pretending they are legitimate and plans to place those three boys in the line of succession. That’s treason and THATS the issue. By law Luke shouldn’t even be named Lord of Driftmark much less his big brother being in the line of succession to be king.
@@daynejoseph2366 but in Cersie’s case, Robbert didn’t knew they were bastards. In Rhaenyra’s case both the king, Corlys and Laenor knows their identity and they still want them to be legitimised by giving them Valerian identity. In Cersie’s case her line shouldn’t pass to throne since she’s not the heir but king’s wife so Robert’s kids should’ve sit on throne. In Rhaenyra’s case it’s her line that has to sit on throne not Laenor’s cause Rhaenyra is heir which is exactly why kids will inherit the name Targaryen upon sitting on throne.
@@daynejoseph2366 Being a bastard is a big deal but not nearly as big a deal as not having any blood relation to the monarch at all, as in Geoffrey's case. Remember there was a major effort to assassinate all of Robert Boratheon's bastards because they would have had a legitimate claim to the throne as bastard offspring of the monarch. The Strong boys are in the same situation as Robert's bastards, not Cercei's kids. The Strong boys are Targaryen by blood and bastard offspring of the would-be monarch. Plus when Jace takes the throne, his name becomes Targaryen by name.
Aemond really gave a look of *I won't help you on this one. Get humiliated brother and let our sister be happy for this moment* He do give the feeling that he love his sister
I wish they could have gotten married a lot of could have been avoided but what scares me (Helaena is the only one of Alicent’s kids I like) from what she said in her speech-and what Aegon does a lot when he’s drunk--I’m scared he’s hurt her
The fact that Jace gives her the respect and attention that her own husband doesn't, even if it is for a mere moment. Perhaps not necessarily out of romantic love, but simply out of kindness, a kind of love and admiration for his cousin. He knows she deserves better than Aegon's constant cheating and horrible behaviour and everyone treating her like she's crazy. Rhaenyra raised her sons to be so kind and noble.
It was not for the right reasons tho, coz Jace was basically waging a cold war against Aegon for being outright rude to him and his wife-to-be, until Aemond called not only him but his other two siblings bastards.😂
It was when that bitch strong boy Luke laughed at aemond when they kept the pig infront of him to remind him of the prank Aemond literally turned his chair to watch her dance ❤️
@@alangh. they’re referencing the actors who play Aegon during the time sequences, not comparing the actors who play Aemond and Aegon in the most recent episodes
I might be reading into it a little bit but when Aegon looks to Aemond it almost looks like Aemond is like, "you deserve this embarrassment". Aegon treats her terribly but Aemond has been shown to care about her deeply. Even if he hates his cousin, Jace still does something incredibly kind and makes her feel wanted. He even dances and twirls the way SHE wants to because its fun for HER.
Jace and his brother, although they are born out of marriage but they are both raised and taught well by their real father and mother... And although they are not velaryon's son.. he cared so much for them. They are loved , protected and well raised.
Honestly, Jace is such a gentleman. Asking Helaena to dance to cheer her up, and being courteous enough to excuse himself from Baela’s side. He deserves to take them both as his wives like Aegon the conqueror did to his sisters. That would’ve been a power throuple. But I also can’t help but wonder if the Dance of the Dragons would just resume between Helaena and Baela’s children being both claimants to the throne.
😓I swear damn all the adults Targaryens , the king for marrying alicent , alicent for poisoning her children’s brains against their family , raynera for making bastards , laynor for playing around with his special friend instead of doing his duty …And daemon for not marrying raynera sooner .. so much misery from everyone’s actions .. when you read the books and you know how miserable these young kids life will end it 😢 you just think great literature just makes you feel for characters ….
