I was with my mom when she filmed this. I helped her get ready and there was a very special magical and exciting vibe The Who day and night. I hold the memory so close to my heart,! My mother’s was a classic beauty and we had such a close and priceless relationship, I will treasure our special times, trips and adventures in my heart, thoughts and memories forever! Till this day I still can hear her.
Thank you so much for the kind words. She was blessed and to have such loyal and enthusiastic fans like yourself, I hope watching these brings back special memories for you like they do for me!
@@duffyoconnell6966 I wish you could get to Peter Marshall while he's still alive and set him straight. He continues to bad-mouth your mom at public events and I think it's awful. Rose Marie did the same thing.
She got better and better over the years. Met her twice in my teens when I worked in radio. She pinched my cheek I don't know how many times when she was on. Bob Eberly was a real kick, a very funny man. I have wonderful memories of them both--dynamite people, truly!
THIS VERSION of Tangerine is the absolute best. The introduction for starters she never got to sing. She is in command and swings with the band its so Great. Outstanding. The girl has more importance than the band leaders lame solo. She and band rock and don't have the ego maniac band leader to cal the shots and keep the singer in their shadow
Duffy just came across this video and at first I thought what a beautiful time machine that reminds me of a wonderful time with my parents who loved her music and talent. As the day wore on I realized it reinforced my personnel belief that your mother, my parents and the others who gave us so much must live still, do still live, not just in our hearts but in a place where we will join them in time because of the love we have for them.
She was very shy in person and had stage right which I saw first hand when she joined 4 Girls 4, also worth watching. Also noteworthy, she was the first female host on The Today Show and was a trailblazer in that regard.
this brings back such fond memories for me. I always loved Helen since I was a little girl. I can remember thinking she was one of the most beautiful women in the world when I was young. I watch her here now, and I am still just as much in awe of her beauty and her voice. I can remember singing along with her to Tangerine when I was young and in my mind, we were on stage performing together. LOL what fun I had. thank you, Alan for uploading this treasure.
One of my all time favorite customers when she was in Toronto. Last time I was with her was for a show at Ontario Place. Didn't look a day over forty and just so nice. I am blessed to have known such an icon from the music period that came before me.
She was a big band song bird who had good looks and a great personality. That voice carried her for years. A step above joni James. Helen could sing standards. Joni couldn't. What a great lady
