The star of Thailand. Brian's a great player and all, but I don't think that anybody would try and refute the fact that he and Clay are pretty horrible people. Watching her lash into both of them was amazing.
@@HotRoute7 Other way around, he had a sook because Candace was on the Villains tribe and Rob 'refused' to be on the same tribe as a mutineer, so they switched Parvati and Candace around. Plus, they didn't want too many from Micronesia all on the same tribe.
Doubt she will. She leaked production secrets in her newspaper column. You're not allowed to talk about production secrets until 3 years after you play.
Finalists who refuse to answer a juror's question because they think that juror will never vote for them anyway are so stupid. The other jurors are sitting and watching your lack of tact and effort as well and judging
Brian picked someone who is unable to answer jury questions as well lol. Russell brought one of the most sociable player of all time with him; Natalie.
I'm a huge fan of Russell but he doesn't compare to Brian. Brian has everything Russell has except Brian can actually win consecutively immunity challenges, but most importantly he knew how to act in front of a jury. Russell doesn't really get people, he just plays off their trust and desperation while Brian played on their emotions to get them to like him even though he back stabbed most of them. Brian played such a smooth game... Russell handles jury so badly
It's because Russell literally goes "Imma vote you all out, and I'm gonna say I'm better than you cuz I am, now where's my million?". That's where he's 100% wrong. Brian said it on the show and he's said it in interviews, Survivor is a SOCIAL game about PEOPLE. It's NOT a strategy game. Sure, there are elements of it that are very strategic, absolutely, but at its core, Survivor is a social game. You cannot win Survivor without a social game, it is 100% impossible, because it is a social game. Look at any winner, from someone great like Brian or Kim...all the way to someone weak like Jenna or Michelle. The one thing they had in common was that they ALL had a good social game, or at least a better social game than the person sitting next to them.
I don’t like Russell either, but let’s not pretend Brian was a master of Jury management. He almost lost to one of he biggest goats of all time. He had 0 connections to anyone on the jury, all of the votes he got were against Clay, not for him
@Andy Parker Do you? It's a Survivor fandom term, dumbass. Look up the fox/bear/goat/bunny theory. The goat strategy has been around for nearly 2 decades.
@Andy Parker In Survivor it’s a term used to describe a player that you would want to take to the end because they’d be easy to beat. So yes, Clay is absolutely a goat
Okay... a cop has no chance in a world without guns. First of all, Brian never played in a season with idols and Russel (much like literally most survivor players) never played a season without them. No use to make a comparison without either of them having experience in that environment. You can say Russel wouldn’t have had a chance. You might be right. But guess what, survivor has played with idols MUCH before Russel played. An idol is a tool. You don’t necessarily need it, but it damn sure helps. Russel played the way he did cause he knew he could bank on finding the idol. He is the best of all time in terms of idol searches and that’s not even debatable. He is the entire reason people to this day go searching for idols without a clue. Anyways, I think what you said is just a really silly thing to say. Both are two of the best to do it. Russel could have found a way to be the puppet master in Samoa without idols. That’s just Russel
Besides Sue Hawk and Trish Hegarty, my 3rd favorite jury speech of all time. I miss the old school days of passionate jury speeches, I hate the new jury questioning format, it limits epic speeches like this
@LibertarianCanadian I remember reading in one of Helen's interviews a while back that if Brian hadn't apologized she would have voted for Clay. I'm surprised she was even considering voting for Clay. But this shows why Brian is the lord and master. The FTC isn't about honesty, it's about telling the jurors what they want to hear.
they saved the best for last on this because jan was not the last person to speak even though she was the last member of the jury "the whooooooole time out here", so much sass
That's is because the producers already knew how was going to to be her speech. Always a few minutes before going up to FTC, they ask the jurys how are they planning to perform in the tribal, how is going to be the speech, etc. It happened a lot of times, In Borneo with Sue, in Gabon with Corinne, in Samoa with Erik, etc.
Imagine if Sandra, Boston Rob and Russell at the final three and had to face Helen at the jury. How they would handle it? Who would Helen vote for of the 3?
Definitely not Russell. Could be 50/50 with Sandra or Rob depending on how she was voted out. She would respect Rob for being better in challenges but if Rob screwed her she could easily go Sandra.
Survivor Thailand is the first that I started to see and it is the reason I was in love 💖 with that television show. With all the backstabbing going on, that sure was exciting, exhilarating, and so treacherous you never knew what was going to happen next. It did not take much to feel for the members that were elected to be on this show knowing full well many of them were going to be kicked out. You truly felt sorry for all of them. Because in the end, it can only be two people labeled as the options to be the winner of that million dollars, and only one of them was going to walk away a winner. Brian Heidek was the best Survivor there ever was. Not only did he make it to the final two, but he was the only person ever to go on this show and never be voted out at a tribal council!
Everyone hates on this season so much. I didnt mind it at all. It was full of hatred and Clay was one of my favourite characters. He just straight up didnt give a damn
Brian v Russell is like comparing a bow to a shotgun. Both will get the job done, but they are from very different eras. Back then we didn't see the type of strategic gameplay we see today, mostly because of the inclusion of idols and people could still play the 'I did more around camp' card. But Russell has said he doesn't consider the juries opinion when he plays - so I think Brian would have a slight advantage. He can play people at the end better.
I wish she had voted for clay...just to piss off brian... cause when she was eliminated i didn't care who the winner of survivor will be... so if clay have won the sole survivor of the season would still have sucked...
@Oo Aa Damn this was 4 years ago. Umm…I don’t even watch the show anymore lol. 40 was it for me. I don’t think about survivor really at all anymore. But Clay was one of the most hated people to ever play the show. He’s top 10 for sure. If he had won, it would have been because Brian lost.
it’s a bit silly watching these old final tribals. sure people always had hurt feelings about blindsides and lies, and maybe it was the fact people might not know a ton about the game survivor at this point. just funny😂if u sign up for survivor today, you expect nothing but lies and blind sides. if you’re a super fan, a good blind side that gets you out might just win your vote😂
So did Helen vote for Brian after all of that anyways? What a snake in the grass! Too bad Brian was never invited to Survivor again. I would have loved to see him play against Rob, Parvati, and Russell, and see how he would have handled himself with those guys!
She did, but only because she hated Clay even more. Jan would have wiped the floor with Brian in the jury vote. Like she seriously might have won unanimously.
To be fair, this was only the 5th season of Survivor. Back then, lying was something that was really looked down upon. In those early days, the social element of the game was very crucial. Friendships, and owning up to wrongdoings were the keys to getting jury votes. The only way that a liar could win is if they had made the jury members respect them enough to award them the million dollars.
Um, Helen was only upset that Brian and Clay didn't tell her they were voting her out beforehand. Like just listen to her speech, they could have done it right before they left to go to tribal council that night and she would have been fine
Helen's jury speech was the only redeemable part of this awful finale. Clay and Brian are perhaps the worst finalists on Survivor (even worse than Vecepia and Neleh, which were lame players)
@ilovekelly75 If they were seriously going to vote for Mick, than they truly were the most stuck-up, pretentious, bitter juries ever. Russell was the only one who deserved to win.
Man, Brian's answer here is absolutely horrible. He's extremely lucky that Helen hated Clay even more than she hated Brian. And the same goes for Ted. Brian is a bottom-tier winner.
@@SurvivorIce No, he's a very bad winner. I'm not saying he didn't deserve to win. But he nearly lost to _Clay_ of all people, which makes him a very poor winner.
Helen was a sore loser! I hated it when she trashed talk his profession....so disgusting of her. He deserved to win he was as honest as possible in playing that game for $1M. Go away Helen!
