Dear Mr. Engineer, please tell me something about double helical gears, especially the herringbone gears. Is there any preferred direction with those gears? If yes, then tell me why. I don't care oil circulation/expelling like a car rain-tires. It runs dry. Thank you!

Due to the fact that they have two opposing directions, they can perform well in any direction, and there is no preferred direction in helical gear.

Hi there, Thank you for such a great video. I am attempting to design a helical planetary gearbox for a project I am working on and wanted to know what book this text was from. This is just so I can reference it and to calculate the tooth loads. Thank you in advance.
