When I was in the Air Force, people always made fun of the Coast guard since they stayed here while we deployed to war zones. I did 2 tours in Iraq as a gunner and driver on convoys. Didn't realize what the CG did until I started watching this show. Much respect!

I come from a military family who have served in wars from WW2 to present and I too had heard every branch even go as far as saying the CG is not military. I dated a coastie for a couple years and seen first hand the sacrifices these men and women make for this country and whether you are fighting a war against an enemy as in battle or if fighting the war right here at home protecting humans from mother nature's fury or helping local law keep drugs from our country or from wildlife, they are all with the aim of serving and protecting. All need to be respected and praised. Thank you all for your service.

I’ve always thought if I was lost at sea or jacked by pirates (I’ve never seen an ocean) I’d be really happy to see a naval vessel, and if rescued my fellow Americans would have to kick me of the ship lol. But I never exclude that orange and white chopper, it’s like a heavy hitter care flight that does a lot more than what our inland jet turbine bell can do.

It’s ashame the coast guard doesn’t get the credit like others. The knowledge has to be more for a lot reasons. Don’t attack my statement we need to love all our heroes 🇺🇸

They don't get the recognition they deserve, that's very true, and that is for every coast guard member on any base in our country. Most people just think they are there to patrol and keep a look out for illegal gods coming in or people trying to sneak in when that is only a small part of their mission. People, especially those that do not live near coast or inland waterways where the coast guard is active, have almost no idea that they exist. Its also been a long time since our country has been in a war where our coasts were vulnerable and many don't realize that while other branches of the military maybe off fighting in other countries the coast was, and is, the first line of defense if our shores.

The expression on the face of the Mother of the extremely poorly baby girl said it all! She never took her eyes off her beloved baby girl, almost like she was terrified that this might be the last time that she saw her baby alive! Her relief at obtaining a diagnosis and being able to take her baby home must have been such a huge relief.

The Coast Guard is a good opportunity for young kids looking to join military service. They have basically everything that other branches of the military has, except Special Forces. They do however have snipers! The military benefits are the same as other branches, and there are many ways to diversify your career so as to advance and not be lost.

The courage to jump into the Bering Sea in a storm, the expertise to fly in weather conditions that would ground anyone else, the skills to keep those machines functional & flying, the gentleness / compassion to care for an infant and yet understand a parents pain and most importantly the knowledge that community is the driving force or everything they do..... I am as in awe with the CG after watching an episode for the fifth time as I was the first. A stunning group of people

With a serious eye injury I was taught to cover both eyes so that the good eye does not move to track motion. When the good eye moves, the injured eye moves with it which if nothing else causes more pain and may in some cases such as this one exacerbate the condition. He just explained what I wrote.

Thank you for caring and to the other crew men you are all champions. Being fathers yourselves you could only imagine that Mothers anguish. Good luck on your retirement. all the best for the future... BTW what are you still doing here Bill I saw your retirement quite a few episodes ago... Well there you go, live and learn, I only knew that patients weren't usually aware there was anything wrong, that they usually had slurred speech and often facial muscle drop to name several signs & symptoms. Glad the gentleman was able to get the all important quick care a stroke victim needs, the quicker the treatment the more chance of a good recovery...well done guys!! cheers from Western Australia 2024

I really like this episode. Marc Tunstall is my favorite hero in this episode because of the infant he helped to save. All 1st responders play a very important part in our safety and security. Looks like Marc Tunstall had a very good career and I wish he had some more episodes in this series. I think he's the best but they all do a fantastic job because they are just as devoted to their work as are all 1st responders in the world. I salute him and wish him the best though I doubt this job will ever leave his blood because it's a part of him now. Have you ever watched a show that had a real life person or a character that you love so much but only saw them in one, a few or maybe half the whole series and wanted more so you only watch the same episode, episodes or seasons with that one person or character over and over again. I can understand that because that's what I do because their not just the main characters or some one you like, you just grew up watching them or their the reason why you watch the show in the first place.
