How do you know the product launching time and how good beginners are doing? We have to consider the market dominators. right?

When you look at the 1 star reviews and determine what the problems are that you can improve on, how exactly do you improve on that product? If it's produced in China and by multiple manufacturers, how can you tell which manufacturer has a better version? Do you contact them and ask them to correct the issues? How do you negotiate something like that? Thanks!
