When using the outdoor hotspot directed towards an open area, will you still be able to pick up the signal from inside your house even though the antenna might be visible in front of you but from the side of it?
@diymanual
@diymanual 3 дня назад
@dennisx4492 Depending on how thick and how many walls/roof you have in between the hotspot the signal will get weaker. Let say you have a 2 story house and place the hotspot in your roof pointing to the front of your house, you should be able to get good signal up to 800 ft in the front of your house. The backyard should also be good maybe up to 80 ft from the back of the hotspot. If you go inside the house you should be able to get good signal on the second floor but not on the first floor. In my experience from roof to 2nd floor, I lose 1 bar. For the most part signal is good but there are times where it would buffer. First floor, my phone disconnects to the hotspot and just use cellular data.

Hello can I plug in the data cable from any other room or does it have to be from the modem because rooms have ethrnate plug in , in the wall
@diymanual
@diymanual Месяц назад
As long as the Ethernet cable from your room is plugged into the modem/router then you can plug this into that wall. Think of this as a WiFi extender for your network.

If you're standing at the side or behind it but not far from it, can you still pick up signal? Or must you be directly in front of it to get signal?
@diymanual
@diymanual 21 день назад
@@dennisx4492 Yes you can. I can go about 80 ft. behind the hotspot and still get good signal.

My phone keeps asking for a username / password when I try to connect to "Helium Mobile" wifi. What was the fix for this? It is a year old Pixel BTW. Thanks!

I assume your hotspot is at your home. If so, turn off auto-connect on your home WiFi. Click on Enhance Dynamic coverage again to re-install certificate then disconnect from your home WiFi. Give your phone a minute or 2 to find the Helium hotspot and connect to it automatically. Make sure you are close to your helium hotspot. This procedure is suggested by some users on Reddit and it works on my Kid's Motorolla phone. If the above won't work, try to turn on continuous connectivity from your hotspot app and see if your phone will connect with continuous connectivity on. I have similar issue with 2 phones in our household both Umidigi. I thought its because of the phone because helium support told me that it does not support all phones and given that I have a generic phone I just let it go. Recently, I turned continuous connectivity on. Around the same time, I also noticed that all phones can connect to the hotspot so I thought that Helium fixed the issue but I noticed that I am getting unrewarded data. So I turned-off continuous connectivity and the 2 phones can't connect again. I tried moving my SIM and account on another phone that works and still won't connect with continuous connectivity Off. Someone from Reddit have similar experience and he said that Helium is looking into it and thinks that something is needed to be reset to allow the phone to connect again. I just opened a ticket to Helium regarding the issue a few minutes ago. Well see what they say. If you still have the same issue after doing the first suggestion I gave, I encourage you to open a ticket as well so that they are aware that it is not an isolated case.

@diymanual
@diymanual 2 месяца назад
Hi. You plug this into your internet modem. This simply allows you to share your internet service to other Helium users and in return Helium rewards you for doing it.

I do not see anything on the specification. I guess that will depend on your router capability as this basically acts as an extension to your WiFi network.

WARNING! - I bought the indoor wifi hotspot and set it up on my Galaxy A52 5G phone. It worked fine for about a month. Then it stopped working. I tried switching to a Galaxy S21+ phone and it still wouldn't work. So-called helium support could not figure out how to transfer the certificate from the first phone to the second phone, so now I have an indoor wifi hotspot that is nothing but a paper weight. DO NOT BUY THESE PRODUCTS IF YOU EXPECT THEM TO WORK FOR MORE THAN A MONTH OR TO BE TRANSFERRABLE TO ANOTHER PHONE.
@diymanual
@diymanual 2 месяца назад
Thanks for the input. Maybe you reached the data rewards limit for the hotspot for the month? This happens to me towards the end of my first month, when I contacted support, he explained how the data rewards work and when my new month renew, the phones can connect to the hotspot again. Try turning on the "Continuous Connectivity" if your phone can connect with continuous connectivity "On" then your certificate is good and that you just reached the max data reward for the hotspot.

@@diymanual That's not it, but thanks for trying. It keeps asking for an Identity, Password, and CA certificate no matter what I do. Bogus software from helium. They don't have a clue how to support their customers.

@@bluenetmarketing oh. That one. I have that with my other phone. Support can't help me with that either. I've been tossed around between mobile support and hotspot support. Then finally one of the support told me that not all phones are supported. I have 2 Umidigi phones with Android 13 and it have the same problem with the WiFi asking for credentials so I just thought that it's a phone issue. The iPhone and Moto G are working. But you said it worked initially on your phone then stopped working? Now I'm thinking they just told me that it's a phone issue to get me off their back.

@@diymanual It was working on the S21+ for one week, and then it stopped. Helium support is WORTHLESS. I had planned to buy an outdoor unit, but NOT now.

There is excellent support for Helium Mobile products on the Reddit and Discord groups - if you need help I suggest that you go on there and read and post.
