Yeah, this is the best song description in the comments section. Religious Robots on Christmas in some post apocalyptic world. The human apocalypse occurred, now the robot apocalypse is near. Cybernetic divine judgement hehe.
I listened to this piece a bunch of times. But one time I was listening to it while I was alone in the house and doing the dishes, and I thought I heard noises behind me so I turned it off. I don’t know if BOC use frequencies that mess with your head, but one thing’s for sure - I was freaking the f*** out.
seems that way sometimes. the spoken word track “Xentrix” doesn’t even have any music in it but the silence under the voice inexplicably still feels a little upsetting
Hey @itziksamuha330 i had the exact experience yesterday which was super creepy. After listening it for the first time ever (I am serious) my wifi disappeared for 20 minutes which hasn’t happen until 5 years ago due to construction work. And that also freaked me out a lot. Much scarier than any movie I have seen yet
That moment your sitting by yourself on a cold Tuesday night. Nothing, but silence rings in your ears. You feel nothing. You think nothing. You speak nothing. Nothing consumes everything you thought existed.
2:15 "Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen."
I keep hearing Boards of Canada's music in my dreams. Most notably I heard "Tears from the compound eye" late last year and more recently, this.. it was terrifying, Iv'e only ever listened to this once.
Samples in the song: Magnificat, BWV 243, IV. Quia fecit mihi magna (organ arrangement), Johann Sebastian Bach Another organ sample, unknown Silent Night The Lord's Prayer (text to speech)
From the perspective of the evil entity or something, but reflecting on better times or wishing it wasn’t so evil?? Masquerading as dark/evil but is founded on good/harmony
Easily the most unsettling track BOC ever released. I think it would trigger mass suicides if played on loudspeakers in some totalitarian hell scape. Whatever reverb rack unit they used for this track It’s probably possessed.
