Well done lads! I have wondered what Hell's Gate would be like on a bike. Super impressed with the riding and the bikes, you really commit, love it. What a great time to be ADV bike shopping.
Yes, I've watched it in past trip and just couldn't pull the trigger. This trip, I went in with a "You only live once" mindset and we got some great riding in.
Great vid. I’ve done it on my Raptor ATV and recently a rental kawi sxs while my wife and I were out there for our honeymoon. Seeing bikes go up it is cool. This perspective helps appreciate how formidable of a climb it is. My friend did it on his XR but I wasn’t there to see.
@@CamelADV I wish a had a good cam at the time. My low end GoPro took a crap right before the trip. Definitely be going back though. Keeping momentum whilst not bouncing yourself to oblivion looks like the key on a bike. I’ve never been a bike guy. Twist throttle always got me into trouble.
Can’t wait to see how you did on Cliff Hanger. We were in the red Gladiator but only made it to the creek. It will be nice to see the rest of that trail when you post it! Nice climb up Hell’s Gate guys!
It was great to meet you Brian. We made it, not without some drama along the way though! I'll get a video up once I have some time to edit. Why did you only make it to the creek?
@@CamelADV Hi Cory, needed a spotter to get over the ledge. I tried to take the ledge on the right but my wheel base is just a tad too long and didn’t want to get stuck in the V notch on the left, where you guys ran up, without a good winch spot to tie off on. After watching a recent video posted by the “Trails Offroad” guys, they had their JLU up and and back, we really would’ve needed some spotters at Cliff Hanger. Holy smokes that looks sketch! I’ll let you know how my T7, with the ported race head, dyno’s in a couple weeks. I’m waiting on a hi-flow velocity stack air cleaner from the race team in Brazil that goes with the head. Will be interesting to see what gains are made. Thanks for posting up the great videos!
Heck that is steep indeed the camera flattens everything but this makes me nervous 😬 just looking at it on the video. Well done great riding very entertaining video
👍👍 Love the place! Stay left on bike, stay right in Jeep... Stay outta the big hot tubs on a bike. Video in no way represents how steep these obstacles are. Great video guys!
I was just here and saw a bike attempt to go up- same basic results. He fell once but then made it to a round of applause! It's fun to WATCH! At my age, I value my joints too much to risk them for 5 minutes of thrills.
@@CamelADV i thought i also saw rear crash bars from HEED on the blue one. is that correct? I also have same HEED setup. only totally untested. How do they hold up, any damage or bending? thanks upfront...
@@CamelADV i would have had “cracked fairings” anxiety 🤣. Just made a walking speed tip over the other day at a sandy and rocky spot. Busted a rib or two, so no riding for a while 😒
Some of my worst injury crashes have been at very low speeds. I’ve given up on worrying about brittle T7 plastic, I’ll just replace it before I sell it.
@@CamelADV I’m used to running 15 pounds of pressure coming from a tubed with rim lock setup on my 300. With these bigger bikes with higher torques, what’s the minimum pressure you run without a rim lock. Sorry no rim locks is a totally new concept to me so I appreciate the patience
@@bjwilliams6115 For our local technical single track (max - 3rd gear stuff) I run 8psi front and 6psi front on my 350XCF-W. In the same terrain on the T7 I run about 24psi front and 18 rear. For fast, rocky desert 2 track riding with on the T7, I'll run 30-35psi front and 27-30 rear. No rim locks required due to the safety beads in the rims. That been said, at lower pressure, the tires can rotate on the rims. My valve stems are often sitting at goofy angles after a hard ride at lower pressures.
GoPro's absolutely flatten anything and everything. That shit looked STEEP. This is something I'd probably not even try if I were given the chance, just because of how badly your bike would be fucked if it started sliding back downhill.
I couldn't disagree more. The 890 has strong mid-range and top-end but they flame out far easier than the T7's do. However, the 890 may have done better with the traction control engaged as it may not have spun out on the sand kicked me to the left. It's moot point as it's 90% rider anyway.
