"We didn’t go into this referencing any of the other movies. We went into it referencing absolutely one thing, and that is the original Mike Mignola comic book. We wanted to take The Crooked Man and adapt it faithfully," the director explained. "That means it’s a period piece, it's a younger Hellboy, and it has no relation to the other films." My approach was to have an audience of one. If Mike Mignola feels like this is his Hellboy, then I feel like we succeeded."

This film looks like a more "natural" setting then a Hollywood feel. I think that's going to disrupt a lot of viewers, but I think it's freaking neat. Plus they got Americas favorite butler in the cast, so that's sweet.

The thing that is dope about this is it’s not any sort of origin story, it’s just like an issue or graphic novel where the main character has an adventure of some sort. If more comic films took the route it would be a much more well respected medium

It would be a relatively simple and quick fix to go back through and digitally change Hellboy's eyes to a comic accurate color. Maybe even make them glow a little in the dark scenes It would help him look so much better.

Very excited! I don't care about the smaller budget - I am a huge fan of comic and I am happy to see Hellboy depicted with a comic accurate attitude for the first time. Alrhough I do wish the budget could have accounted for yellow eyes... 😅

You know, I can't say it'll live up to the other 3 films in visual effects spectacle, but it has an Evil Dead vibe that's kinda growing on me. The cinematography and effects they do show look impressive for what I'm assuming is a low budget/indie film. I wish the movie luck and hope it does well

Despite first doubts, this could work. This movie has a hard battle before it, in order to win over the audience after the beloved del Toro Films. But thanks to this trailer, I am more curious for Hellboy - The Crooked Man than before watching the trailer.

When I first saw pictures of this Hellboy, I was pretty skeptical about it. Seeing this trailer though, I gotta admit that I prefer this design over the one they did for David Harbour. I'm definitely used to the eyes they used for Ron Perlman, but othwise I think this design is pretty close to the comic variation. Looking forward to seeing it in theaters.

Also first comment. This trailer is a huge improvement over the last. I am definitely intrigued, and really hope that this film gets a Japanese release. It looks like a lot of the original comic made it into the film, but there are also a number of changes that have me very curious how this adaptation will play out. Really great atmosphere and creepy vibes.
