Nice review. You already answered your wear question when you presented the 10,000 round torture test. I saw it too and is very impressive since many gun owners never shoot a weapon this many times in the time they have it. That surface wear on the barrel is very normal and does not effect performance or reliability. If anything, it is just breaking itself in. Thanks again for the well spoken review!
I have about 150 rnds. through mine. Still getting broken in. Fairly snappy with 115 gr. bullets. Mastering the trigger is the main thing. Sights are great, grip texture is satisfactory, take down a snap. You will appreciate a mag loading tool (Maglula) to save your hide! I am lovin' this gun! It's loaded and ready to fight!
Carry a HK P30Sk, VP9SK, XDS 45 3.3, Shield 2.0, CZ P10c and this gun, Hellcat OSP version with SMSc is carried 90% of the time. They have 15 rd mags now. Super accurate and reliable.
Awesome awesome review. Very thourough. However I see numerous people run the Olight Mini on the Hellcat! I read that if you use just the screws on the olight mini without any inserts (the 1911 or the GL) the light works perfectly fine. Some even reversed the locking tab or filed down. But yes many many ppl run the olight on the hellcat. Including myself. :) love the video, brother.
Tell your Mrs that she isn’t shooting a revolver. You are not supposed to wrap your support thumb over the top of the shooting hand when shooting semi-autos. It needs to go alongside the left side of the frame for a right handed shooter. This is why it was hitting her nails. She is very lucky this is all it did, and didn’t bloody up her hand.
I appreciate that you did the best video out there explaining everything about the Hellcat. I'm really intrigued to buy one. How has the gun been keeping up until today? Sub!
Thank you very much for your kind words. I have a second video on it in which I share with you what I don’t like about it. You may want to check that out as well. Overall, I think it’s a good little gun. Quality has been good, the wear on it after 1000 rounds has been acceptable. I would highly suggest that you shoot one before you buy it (any firearm for that matter). Thank you for watching!
The beaver tail is the little part that sticks out from the back of the gun so when the slide comes back, it doesn’t catch your hand. That is nowhere near the palm of your hand, if you’re talking about the bottom of the grip or the palm swell, yes, it doesn’t have that bump that has so it may not fit certain handles, but that’s all guns.
Very good and through review! Thank you. I own the OSP FDE model and really like it. I swapped the trigger for an Apex and added a Holosun 507K. It’s my main warm weather EDC. I just purchased the Sig P365 tac pac and am curious as to how it will compare. Along with my VP9 & G45 I think I’m pretty well covered for any home or concealed carry situation that might arise. Thanks again. 👍👍
Do you have a very nice selection. The Apex trigger made a big difference on the Hellcat. For me, the P365 is easier on the hand and more accurate. That’s for me. Thank you very much for your kind words and for taking the time to watch.
I've been trying to get one(osp version) since January. Preordered at my local shop and then covid and the mad gun rush of 2020 happened..JUST got it Thursday 7-30-20!! Range Sunday with my current p365 carry for comparison. Already shot a rental at my range so know the gun. This one is mine though so..different..😀😀 Great gun and great reviews!!
I am currently carrying the M&P Shield 9mm 1st gen and I am very interested in replacing it with the Hellcat...going to get one in the morning, if it's still there tomorrow! 🤞
was it designed in the USA by Springfield and made in Croatia? or is it designed and manufactured by HS Product in Croatia and adapted for and imported to the US market by Springfield Armory? well, either way, nice gun and you did a great review! thanks
I asked that question directly to Springfield and the answer I got was that it was designed in the US and built in Croatia. Thank you very much for watching and for your kind words.
I don't have any of the grip issues you mention. I find it easier to shoot than the 365 because the gun is easier to hold. Both guns are snappy anyone who says the 365 isn't hasn't shot it much.
+Jack Bauer it is all so subjective. Just my experience and how it feels to me after almost 1,000 rounds through it. And yes, you are correct, any pistol of this size and specially in 9mm will be snappy. Thanks for watching.
Might just need to work on your grip. They’re both great guns. I hold both just the same. I like the yellow of the hellcat but the U notch ruins the gun. I’d be happy with either gun but I shoot the 365 better.
I don’t mind that U notch, but I don’t like the white line on it. So I took a black sharpie marker and made it all black. Thank you very much for watching.
Just picked this up about a month ago for $569. Disappointed with what came with it (box/accessories) in comparison to other Springfield guns I bought (xds 45 & mod.2 40 cal). Over love this gun as a daily carry gun!
Congrats on your Hellcat. Hard to beat the size/capacity that it brings to the table. And yea, Springfield did leave us hanging in regards to goodies in the box vs. other offerings of the past. Thanks for watching!
Excellent and nicely detailed review. I love u notch sights and bold front combo, those on the Hellcat are pretty interesting. Shield is still hard to beat and a favorite at the greatest value. My P365 is still going as for the hellcat might consider one. On another note...I'm feeling like you've taken over for KS. Great video.
@@cosmolinefiend9853the support means alot, I greatly appreciate it. Been working on getting my site up and it's been a nightmare. Glad you're pleased, customer satisfaction is of my upmost importance. Anything you need shoot me an email. Thank you
Great video, I’ve been going back and fourth with the sig 365 and in leaning towards the hellcat! I’m glad I have small hands I think that’s always the only negatives I hear about this smaller guns
Chris Lee I’m currently testing the Glock 48 with the Shiel Arms S-15 mag and I can tell you that I’m very happy with it so far... Thanks for watching!
Drake Leroy that is a difficult question to answer because I don’t know what your likes and deeds are. Also, Springfield makes so many pistols, rifles, etc. Having said that, I like their line of 1911s in 9mm. I have a 1911 RO Elite Target and love it. Thanks for watching.
Im rather impressed with my Hellcat so far. I've seen a few woman reviews saying they don't care for the hand grip nor the mag release. I LOVE THEM i comparison to the P365. I haven't bought a holster yet so thanks for recommending another brand
Did you have any accuracy issues? I have one, and I have let several great shooters shoot mine, with a variety of ammo and we all shoot low and left. Very tight group, but low and left. Good video. And God Bless you too!
Luke Lingo not really. It shot pretty well for me. Point of aim for sure on mine. I’m more accurate with the P365 and it’s a “softer” shooter than the Hellcat. Thanks for watching!
Noticed the same about the grip. Couldn't really get a high grip well into the beaver tail. The other thing about the grip where the extended mag meets the grip has some play and noticed my pinky getting a little pinched.
+skeet i’ve seen many reviews and reports online of people getting pinched exactly where you mentioned, however after a lot of shooting the Hellcat, I have not experienced that.
I don't know if one item SA manufacturers, they import and market. They don't design anything as well. The HS Produkt has good designs, but SA is an importer and nothing more. They do have a custom shop but it's them using forgings from Brazil and plastic from Croatia.
+2BitUser per Springfield, there are two models. OSP ready and regular. The OSP can be or else red with or without the optic but they do not consider it a third model. At least that’s what I was told. Thank you for watching.
MDpolo Gun Channel When I bought my optic ready without red dot 🔴 I had option of getting it with optic. At least to me it would appear to be 3 ways to get it plain, predrilled, and mounted out of the box.
The Phalanx Concealment holster that I showed in the video does not, but he does make them for red dot pistols. I have one of his holsters for the Hellcat OSP on the way. Thank you for watching.
Not excessive wear at all. If you own any SA XD's you know this is normal wear. Your wife definitely needs training on her grip. She will wound herself holding a striker fired firearm like that. She was lucky that slide didn't get that thumb. Please help her out.
Thank you for your comments. This is my first SA that is not a 1911 so this my question to you viewers regarding the wear. As far as my wife’s shooting. You are correct and we did work on it and corrected it after that. I did not notice it while filming and looking through the camera. Thanks for your concern. Cheers.
For you people that do not know what Snappy done means oh, it means heavy recall it goes up and down every time you fire the gun it's like putting a 45 in the hands up somebody used to shooting a 22 caliber that's the difference between the two
Yeah the only big negative I think with these “micro” 9s is they’re super snappy. My Glock 42 is just as small but has very average recoil. If I need a small 9mm I carry my Sig 938, it’s a little tank but handles recoil pretty good and I shoot it great! If I need higher capacity in 9mm I carry my XD mod 2 it’s footprint is only alittle bigger than the Hellcat (although a lot wider) but carries 13rds in a flush mag and 17 in the backup mag. 👍🏻
Hello. It’s hard to think about a specific tip. But I can tell you is genuine, always be honest with your viewers and don’t go overboard with filming equipment and lighting. I’m not saying not to get good things, but don’t blow your channel budget only on lights and camera and then have no money for content. Do your research and make sure you know what you’re talking about. If you’re not sure about something, then say so and viewer‘s will gladly pitch in. Have a thick skin! The comment section can be brutal. Ignore the trolls. Best of luck.
It looks to me that it is polymer. However, I am not 100% sure. I contacted Springfield to ask them directly and I will let you know the answer as soon as they get back to me
+2BitUser When she did that I could not see it because I was behind the camera. She normally does not grip a pistol that way. We were lucky that she didn’t get hurt. We addressed it after the video was filmed.
Mdpolo how do you get in contact with distributors or vendors to request things ?? I want to start my own firearms review channel. Thank you if you are more comfortable disclosing in private we can exchange info. Thank you so much.
No problem. Once you get some following and eyeballs on your videos, just call them or email them. They either answer or they don’t. That’s what I did.
Whatever happened do the Browning pistol one of my favorites that I still own how come nobody does videos on Browning's love to see new Browning pistols on your show that would be awesome. I do like your show but don't forget Browning at 911 started the good handgun in World War II
Melonite is NOT a finish but a treatment. The wear you see is not melonite warring off. BTW, my hand looks a lot like yours and your grip experience is totally UNLIKE mine.
Regarding the Melonite, I went by what Springfield states on their website. Please take a look: www.springfield-armory.com/hellcat-series-handguns/hellcat-3-micro-compact-handguns/hellcat-3-micro-compact-9mm-handgun. So thank you for the information. We all have individual experiences, likes and dislikes. Just sharing mine. Thank you for your comment and for watching.
MDpolo Gun Channel yeah, they are flat wrong calling it a finish. Melonite is a nitriding treatment also known as “Tenifer.” It hardens the surface of metal, but it applies no actual finish (or coating). Calling it a finish is nearly universal but incorrect, if, by doing so it is intended to convey the idea that some type of product remains on the surface of the metal.
Had bad luck with this gun. Traded it for a Glock 26. I'll never buy Springfield again the trigger saftey is not safe and snags on the frame. Springfield just ignored me and the problem when I tried to get it solved. Never again.
If you have that much recall in the 9 m m, and the trigger pull looks pretty sloppy, personally I would not buy it looks like a sloppy made gun better guns to be had for the price
@@frankmarburger6587 hmmm superior?? Hellcat is smaller, holds more rounds, better grip, better texture, thicker slides, better sights, reliable AF, better engineering. U fan boys only like glocks because the blacks rap about them.
I’m working my ass off to develop the channel. Whether I got it for free or paid for it I call it as I see it. I am thankful for their support and they know it. Thank you for watching.
Killer cuomo should be indicted on 7000 counts of first degree murder for all the seniors deaths he caused by forcing infected covid patients into nursing homes !
Springfield should be sued for releasing this inaccurate, unreliable junk.gave so many of these freebies to RU-vidrs so they won't tell you how bad this is.
I gave you my honest opinion and not everything was good. Not sure why are you including everybody in your blanket statement. Regardless, thank you very much for watching.
