To prevent a flood of dumb comments: this isn't really clickbait, that is a literal screenshot from a dev in discord and I don't know what else to call shit talking your playerbase after nerfing their fun weapons other than "sabotaging your game." @@asacloutier7530 Before the nerfs, if your team was good enough, you could fight it out SOMEWHAT if at least two people were rocking Railguns and had pinpoint, fast aim to kill Chargers before they even got close. Or at least 3-4 of them so it was easier to deal with the remaining 3-4 (or sometimes more). Now, everything takes forever to kill them. At LEAST 4-6 times longer for a 100%-0% Charger HP kill. That's just not viable when you've got 3 Brood Commanders, 10 Warriors, 4 Stalkers, 30 Hunters/Leapers, and countless scavs harassing you. That's not taking into account the dozen or so Bile Spewers firing acid mortars in your general direction and the 6 Bile Titans bearing down on your position like you owe them money.

​@@orue5499nah flamers are still pretty bad rn even post buff. Ive had squads roll with arc throwers, GLs, autocannons, railguns, spears, or recoiless, and they're all roughly around the same. Some are slightly better than others but railgun is definitely in the mid or below mid part of that list atm. Everything has a purpose except railgun. Heavier targets you choose recoiless/spear, lighter targets you choose arc/autocannon/GL. Railgun lost its purpose in fitting between these all and its kinda mid at everything.

A quick couple Google searches reveals the following: Anti-Materiel Rifles in real applications are only designed to penetrate light vehicle armor. The "Anti-Materiel" is meant to differentiate its use from regular rifles, being designed to take on enemy equipment, rather than enemy soldiers (which would be "Anti-Personnel"). Modern iterations are typically chambered in .50 BMG, a large round to be certain, but still only designed for light armor and probably relatively thin concrete structures. As far as that goes, the HD2 AMR functions exactly as advertised. The problem is that the intended targets for AMRs simply don't exist in the way that an AMR would be able to exploit. Bugs have zero military equipment (or functional equivalents) to speak of, and bots don't have the type that AMRs are designed to effectively handle. There's no lightly armored personnel carriers, or destructible emplacements, or small equipment that you would need to shoot from *that* far away, with the level of expediency that the autocannon doesn't already cover. The current bot roster doesn't do anything like hide behind thin barriers, and the AMR doesn't seem to pierce bot barricades anyway, so that's not very useful. For all intents and purposes the AMR is basically halfway between the DMR/DCS and the Autocannon, being more effective vs armor while still effectively being as mobile as a primary weapon, but that isn't a niche that the current enemy roster has a need for at the moment. Maybe when we get Illuminates-- in general they do more of the "small guy riding in some kind of lightly-armored equipment" that the scout strider represents as one of the few targets that's worth getting an AMR to deal with.

And this along with the strategem cooldown/call in modifiers as well is a killer. Whats the point of making them so weak with so little uptime and then nerfing the means of effectively fighting bugs with hand held weapons too.

Tbf, since I unlocked the autocannon, it has not left my loadout. The utility of destroying nests and secondary objectives (Spore shrooms, radio towers, mini egg clusters, etc) is so underrated by meta chasers. The only problem I had was the chargers. Yet every time I see someone advocating for it I only see rail-shield users saying "oh, autocannon also wastes the backpack slot".

right now my biggest issue is slow debuf, whether it be a bile titan missing me completely, but slowing me regardless, or a hunter teleporting behind me, nothin' personnel kid, gluing me in place while I get swarmed by the speed buffed horde. i feel like the only source of slowness should be actual bile spit attacks, rather than all the enemies that can slow you with melee swipes, especially the hunters with their ability to jump at you from so far.

What the flamethrower needs is a response from enemies when set on fire. They need to briefly recoil, giving the fire enough time to actually do something before the enemy resumes its mindless charge.

I think the ballancing buff and nerf for OP stuff was very much needed! Even I (an avarage scrub) can do Helldive difficulty. Yeah it is not easy, but it is not supposed to be easy. there are lower difficulties, where i will not get overwhelmed by crushers and biles. TBH i also sometimes get frustrated on helldive difficulty, but it's my own fault for getting into thous situations in the first place.

As someone who has 130 hours in Helldivers 1, I can tell you most of the primary weapons straight-up suck compared to their old counterparts. The only exceptions are the Defender, Scorcher, and Dominator, all of which were extremely hard to use in HD1 and in HD2 are actually very good (though the Dominator should have lower recoil for what it does, IMO). All SMGs in HD1 were hot garbage meme weapons, but the Defender is actually my favorite primary in HD2, though it's not as good as the Breaker. We also don't have weapon attachments, which also did things to improve performance, or even added features like a bayonet that made it so melee attacks guaranteed a one-hit-kill on smaller enemies (adding great ammo economy when fending off Leapers... you could melee them mid-air to kill them as they jumped on you). There's no reason I shouldn't be able to one-shot the Chargers with a clean headshot or clean hit to the fleshy parts of the abdomen with the Recoilless Rifle. And I don't mean give it lethal bleeding and have it limp around for another 10-20 seconds, I mean KILL IT OUTRIGHT. It has limited ammo, is extremely slow to reload if you're not team-reloading, and has slow aiming speed. That should be offset by high power, but it typically takes 2-3 (THREE!!) RR shots to kill a Charger right now. Ridiculous. Tanks aren't as bad to deal with, but IMO are way too accurate at long ranges. Same for EATs. EATs in HD1 were the meta. It, like the RR, would one-shot a Charger with a clean headshot or rear abdomen shot. But because HD1 let you run more than 1 of the same stratagem, it wasn't uncommon for people in Helldive to run 1 Shield Generator + 3 EATs ("We EATing good!"). Or Shield + 2 EATs + Nuke. You also had to deal with a lot of armored in HD1, and every EAT call-in was essentially 2 "guaranteed" armored unit kills, assuming you didn't flub the shot. Which I admittedly did a lot when things got hectic. But if everyone was running at least 1 EAT, you could rotate through your cooldowns and keep armor manageable if you cooperated well. So you can see why I'm upset. I run the Spear + EATs when I'm joining randoms in 7+ because I can KINDA fulfill that same role in HD2, but the Spear's lock-on is so buggy right now, sometimes it just stops working entirely. And the EATs are so anemic if I'm the only one running them, that I'd almost prefer just to run the Spear + 3 Orbital Railcannons like I could when we had the multiple-Stratagem bug.

tbh i can agree with all of these as i also played helldivers 1, special the weapons department for example the scorcher of HD 1 was able to take down a lot of enemies thanks to its splash and fire damage while the new scorcher feels like another liberator but with plasma, i dont mind the nerfs as i always liked to use the railgun in "unsafe" mode but to be honest if you gonan tell me that i cant kill the vile titan liek before and we now have five to eight of those guys on the battle field then we are gonna have an issue, the backpack i feel that it was not really worth as i get that its "safe" but with these patch it really shows and gives me the reason of why i run such bagpack, the amount of enemies and fire you are subjected makes it almsot imposible to enjoy those features the developers say the game has, also sayign that we must relay on our stratagems is not the smartest argument as they throw almost all kinds of events that either restrict the use of stratagems or make them longer to deploy, which defeats their own logic, i also want to use the spear as it feels like a decent option to take down automatons bases, but its lockon is so incosistent that i might as well jsut go in to automaton base and throw the granades at the frabricators.

My experience the breaker takes several shots against the meat saws that I just gave up and use my smg sidearm whenever I see meat saws as I can aim for they’re head and kill them(Plural) quick. Same with bruisers the bots with shield and rockets on their shoulder. I aim my breaker at their heads and it keeps hitting around them where I had to just keep firing till the spread shot hits its head, The reason I really like the breaker cuz it trashes regular troopers and I can shoot brood commanders legs off better than any other primary. Not to mention its easier to shoot small bugs that clump together. Idk why they reduced the ammo but this is the least nerf I had issue with honestly😂.

On the ps5, the game crashes too if way too many stratagems are being used. So for the devs to say that is the answer, feels like a spit in the face. If im not playing with friends, theres almost no way for me to join back to the game i just got disconnected from. Playing solo i guess im just bad, been playing on hard 5 though, chargers and bile titans are too hard to deal with rn. Need teammates but game keeps crashing with randos. One must imagine Sisiphus happy

New mechs can do the same thing a railgun did, but better. In addition, flamethrowers are sauced up for taking down chargers. Combine with laser guard dog, and you can deal with hoards while burning chargers to a crisp.(Tip for flamethrower, still aim for the legs, it annihilates them)

You can kill chargers by sticking drop pods on them. This includes supply dp, support weapon and back pack drop pods. Just take one or 2 rly low cd drop pods like the dispensable rockets and stick the beacon to their body. Then use the actual rockets to shoot off armor on other chargers

@@sauceinmyface9302 You can, as the devs explained already if the weapon doesn't have giga pierce, you have to hit the right angles. The auto-cannon when it impacts is explosive which that damage goes through armor. So shoot at where your shots won't bounce and you can take down a charger with it

I don't know man, I've had a complete blast with all the weapons available to me, the base assault rifle is my favorite. I think running max level missions solo and expecting an easy win is insane, because the game is 100% centered on cooperation. But even then, running lower difficulty missions isn't impossible because there's plenty of play styles. Besides, i fully believe DAT is underrated vs charagers, a level 30 rocked up, never used railgun once because he was deadly with the DAT ripping legs open. Meanwhile I'm rocking with my buddy carrying his auto backpack for when there's a large hoard.

I kinda skipped ahead to your thoughts and opinions, since I already saw the posts. I really don’t think it’s that much of an issue. The devs did act a bit immature and that might bite them later (we’ll have to see about that); and in regards to the nerfs, I’ve barely felt them, just takes a bit more aim and patience to use well. Whereas the buffs to the Laser Cannon and flamethrower have been incredibly fun and powerful. I think people found the best thing and just only used that. I’ve had great success with other weapons, even weaker ones (Even on difficulty 8 and 9). My biggest support for the devs decision for nerfs was the toxicity forming around them. I really don’t like being kicked by elitist’s who only want the meta guns. That’s not fun imo.

This has been my findings as well. People were so fixated on the singular overtuned loadout that the second it got regulated to a similar level with the rest of game, they were lost. Not really a fan of the devs pouring gas on the fire, but that one DOES seem to be largely due to the CEO letting his people talk freely to the community without running it by anyone else first. These are growing pains, not the end of the game. Haven’t seen anything about it outside of these videos talking about how “the meta was gutted.”

I haven't tried higher difficulties but I think what the devs want is for players to approach higher difficulties in a methodical and strategic approach i.e. scouting, execute objective in the shortest manner, and securing a path for retreat

It's not just Chargers and Bile Titans. The Rockets, Hulks, Expolsives from Automatons, with their magic spawn on top of you patrols is also almost unplayable on Helldive(How much more in eradicate missions with 500 kills now). To the point that it is better to use stealth, and be quick with your objectives and run away from bot drops ASAP, which a lot of players don't understand. Even in real life, Spec-Ops only infiltrate an area, and then get the fuck out as soon as possible, because they know, they can't hold out an Army on their own, unless they have the BROKEN ARROW ability(in reality, you only get a handful of support). But there are other missions, where it is just too difficult, but still possible to finish(but unable to extract) because bot drops are still inevitable in some missions like the seismic ore missions where everytime you shake the ground. Enemies would overwhelm you. While you have 3 strategems, with 100% Cooldown time, 50% call-in time. And 10 rocket devastators, 2 Tanks, 2 Flamer Hulks, 10 striders, 10 more HMG Devastators, and 20 MORE BERSERKERS RIPPING YOUR GUTS OUT WHILE ALSO BEING TANKY UP CLOSE FOR SOME REASON EVEN WHEN HITTING THEIR WEAKSPOTS. I can only IMAGINE, when they add 3 more HARDER difficulties in the future, we would never end up playing because of the risk of losing liberation percentages when you fail a mission. What I like about the balance patch though is the flamer thrower now viable against terminids, and the laser cannon, also very effective against weakpoints of the automatons, but still struggle against multiple striders, berserkers, or worse multiple HMG devastators, rocket devastators, and multiple hulks. If the mechs have limited rockets, why not make the rocket devastators also have limited rockets, and also less frequency of rockets being shot at you(two per burst), rather than a shotgun of rockets with unlimited amount of more rockets heading towards your vicinity, even staying behind cover would almost be useless, because of the shockwave that blows you away. Just hoping for another good patch coming for the game, where a lot of new weapons can deal with other obstacles. We'll just wait and see really.

For me, the railgun & shield backpack nerfs weren't too much of a problem since I prefer to run the autocannon. This lets me run 3 stratagems focused on crowd/heavy control but with the changed spawns it didn't feel like it was doing anything. I went from running lv.6 & 7 hard/extremes solo to lv.4 challenger solo until they fix things with the spawns. I've also run into the problem of not receiving rewards from my missions and 0 medals from the community missions. So I cannot buy the new mech and I'm missing out on 95 medals.

ya not much really changed about it. the real nerf to the shield comes from the railgun nerf. if you have to bring an autocannon or recoiless, you cant bring a shield

​@@olixx1213so from my testing, a railcannon orbital blows off enough armor that autocannons or GLs have no problem demolishing titans. I generally find the laser to miss the titans a lot as theyre so high off the ground with a narrow body that the laser goes in between the gaps of its legs

​@@jeremiahricks9191 the head outline is incredibly difficult to make out most of the time. Id rather just blow the armor off the leg and minigun it to death as its much more reliable and doesnt kill your already limited rocket ammo.

the railgun change is the most effective change in have ever seen. problem: everyone using one weapon to kill everything. after the change: the weapon stay the same at a higher skill level, while lower skill user stop using it and now experimenting with other weapon. seem like it did exactly what they want it to do

Tried using the mechs last night (Robots - Impossible difficulty). It isn't the saviour people think it is... You can't hide behind cover and easily get 1 shot by a base infantry troop with a missle launcher. The time it takes for robot infantry to call in reinforcements has increased to a significant degree making it impossible to kill before the animation has been completed. And once those reinforcements are in, there are not enough strategems to take out the hulks and tanks. - Railgun is no longer viable as a weapon - Flameflower is good now, but only for bugs - You will die before getting close with robots (you will struggle with the amount of chargers and bile titans on suicide mission or higher) - There is suddenly a severe lack of medium / hard penatrating support weapons or primaries. On higher difficulties you have more armored enemies than there are trash mobs. I know people have more than this, but I have been playing the game for 90 hours now, no more strategems to buy, about 5 upgrades left - I have come to terms with the fact that getting the rest of the ship module upgrades are either out of reach or will be a GRIND to get. The super samples are just too hard to get out of extract with... My friend group all came to the same conclusion that we will probably just wait to play until they patch it again. Devs, if you see this; I love chaos, but manageable chaos

Honestly my main issue with the devs is the patch seemed untested on release. Several hundred players, including me, have been completely and utterly locked out of multiplayer with anyone on PC. It feels they could've spent more time on working on the patch, and they shouldn't have IMMEDIATELY attacked Tien Kwan after a patch that screwed up alot of people's games. A major event people can't even join their friends in felt really bad to play. At the time of writing this, the multiplayer is still broken for me and others. It worked before the patch.

I mean to be fair, helldive was pretty easy if you had a decent team running the ‘meta build’. First time trying it I won’t quite easily 4/6 missions and that was with randoms and no mics. If they buffed all the other guns then it would be even easier! Even after the patch if you have everyone running at least one or two stratagems for chargers / titans you can make it out most of the time on helldive. When they add more stratagems with the incentive to diversify your team (no meta build) I think the game will be super rewarding and fun! If it was really easy it wouldn’t be rewarding

i think when you have 4 people running meta builds it becomes super easy. for people who run solo or duo, it isn't quite as easy (imo). Because the game doesnt scale up with players in a 1:1 manner, having a full kitted squad will always make it easier because you have 4x the amount of stratagems available. the gameplay for 1-3 people is a lot different, and involved wayyy too much running away, especially if you dont use the meta build. i dont want the game to be easy, but I want to be able to play the game xd that said, im glad they are addressing some of the root causes and not just nerfing the weapons in isolation. devs are doing a good job 👍

If not for the last added part of the video. I would have pointed out HD2 is supposed to be a team game. So I personally didn't see a problem with level +7 difficulty being impossible to do solo. With that said, I fully understand and reciprocate the feeling of Chargers being the bane of Helldiver's existence. 4 chargers and a titan pr bug breach was a little much. Especially when you can chain trigger breaches. 😂 Great video, and thanks for the news summary.

The worst thing about the update is the people who defend it. They're putting Arrowhead in a pedestal. If we say nerfing the railgun to the ground is a bad idea, they'll just say stop complaining or stop playing the game. I've seen this before with Destiny 2, where people defend Bungie for constantly making the worst decision ever (on purpose), but if we dare say something about it, we are the toxic ones.

Idk he's not wrong, watch them stream. They are super nice and chill guys, very knowledgeable. They use up 20 reinforcements on diff 4 5 and 6 missions very consistently. Then again I expect devs to play like this. QA is a different story.

I should note I got bored of the railgun before the nerf since autocannon is cool as hell, but it still made me very mad since it was nice to finally feel powerful ( insert clip of 500 kg bombs, plural, landing on a bile titan and somehow glitching thru it and failing to direct hit )

I would love to be able to 'back toss' a stratagem while running away from bugs. At the moment we can only 'forward toss' once activated but imagine being able to tap the trigger button when you are not aiming and you blind-lob it over your back. That way you kill all the bugs on your tail and you get that classic Hollywood 'walking away from explosions' cinema in the background.

I am a Helldivers 1 veteran, and I am loving Helldivers 2. I am an older gamer and I remember times when people played games just for the fun of it. That is what is brilliant about Helldivers, just diving in, experimenting with loadouts and squads compositions - this is the endgame. I like the fact that level 9 is unforgiving and you need a good squad of experienced players to complete it. Had the recent patch made things harder? A bit. Is it still fun? In my humble opinion it still is. I have faith in Arrowhead devs and I am sure they’ll get the balance right over time - they did it with a first game. On a side note, my son is also playing the game and he occasionally gets very frustrated when his squad is in a pinch on higher difficulties. I always remind him that this supposed to be fun, and he does not have to play on high difficulties to enjoy the game. I think some people get so invested in the game that they forget that, at the end of the day, this is a piece of an entertainment media with a difficulty scale for you to choose how entertained (or not) you want to be. PS. To all Helldivers out there. Keep up the good fight ❤️

You’re missing the big picture but you’ll see as this game progresses cause I’ve seen this before many times and I totally agree with you video games used to be about fun … the balance issue and split that created this exact video is that devs constantly go against that we trusted cause we came from HD1 but democracy is no more… see these people commenting “skill issue” u think they having fun? New gen idiots have made videogames a lifestyle of competition about who is better instead of embracing challenges as fun the continuous meta changes in live service games is just marketing the devs only see their games in stats all that matters is the profit of the investors video games have become a grind chore only the be played to unlock the next thing instead for the sake of just playing and having fun as it used to be back then there was no so called “balance” and that was the actual perfect balance and the fun of it. I could go on but enough. Back in the day devs respected the players.

With mechs out I dont get the anger, I've just wanted something, anything new for the last 30 levels. And the balances making people (myself included) use something other than the railgun, is refreshing. I've seen more flamethrowers, las cannons and pump-action shotties in the last 2 days than in the almost 3 weeks Ive had the game. If the railgun is your source of fun in the game, then using it on Unsafe mode shouldn't be an issue. It's another thing to master and get good at.

i honestly think they should add ammo type for the auto cannon like you can choose to run aphe or apfsds for heavier targets, or HEAT rounds. like instead of buffing or nerfing they should add ammo types i feel like that would give us the advantage we need

honestly I'm a big fan of the nerfs, I don't think being able to solo helldiver difficulty was intentional, especially not this early into the games life. Yes it means some people will have to play on lower difficulties but like, who cares? play to where you're at, don't let your ego get in the way of you having a good time

I dont know why people keep saying that strategems are useless/overpowered. Strategems are literally the strongest tools at your disposal especially upgraded. I also dont understand how people have such a hardtime dealing with heavy enemies as for me playing with my friends these problems never occur, we constanly play on difficultys 7 and up because anything below is simply too easy, none of us use "meta" or a specific build other than having atleast 1 person who is able to deal with heavys and for some reason we never run into the same problems which i see so many people complain about without stop.

Being someone coming from game like warframe, I can tell you that Dev is definitely on the right direction, those that keep saying they need power fantasy don't understand that it will very quickly kill the game. Most of the veterans don't actually play the game, they only come back when there is new content to farm, speed run and be done with it. Because the game just become a rpg, where you speed most of your time modding and the pressing 1 or 2 button to finish each run.

The part of this you seem to miss in your discussion is what the devs want for difficulty. devs said multiple times that if you're struggling on high difficulties hen lower the difficulty. They do not want or expect the high difficulties to be for all players. The devs expect this to be a hard game where the people playing on the highest difficulty are those that are actively seeking out an extreme and grulling challenge. You are not expected to routinely succeed on the highest difficulties. I believe there was a comment where one of the devs said that they were appalled that anyone past hell dive in the first week or even month. That's why the buffed helldiver in the very first patch. It's supposed to be a total meat grinder where success is the rare exception for the dedicated. Not something for the average player at all. All of your arguments fall apart when you're playing on level 6 or 7 difficulty. Where normal players are actually supposed to be playing.

​@@rndThursdaya nerf to the charger tracking and weakspot (as in increase weakspot dmg multiplier) is really the only changes the chargers need even with the patch. I mostly find them and the hulks to be annoying with how easy they can run you down no matter what. Though maybe it's just player skill but I've had less of an issue dodging chargers since the patch.

I personally prefer the scythe over the breaker just because of the longer range and basically infinite ammo. If I ever get swarmed by hunters I'll just pull out my redeemer to spray them.

I can confirm that the enemy ai and spawn frequency changed since the patch dropped. There is also a laundry list of bugs that started post patch (listed along with the patch notes on Steam). My group has stopped playing until the AI and spawn changes are reverted to compensate for the recent loss of firepower.

We had a bunch of people having fun. They patched it out though. And the toxic people they were trying to handle have been replaced by even more toxic people. The laser pointer and cigarette lighter are still a joke... I didn't use them before due to my inability to see the enemies when I pull the trigger. The armour is almost worse now because they claim it's fixed but it's still not worth the trade-off. I can't kill more than 4 bugs with the breaker before having to reload due to rng. If they wanted to reduce our ammo, take one mag from the pool. Don't swap out the good mags for the smaller ones. And the primary weapons sucked, which is why we used the breaker. Now we're stuck with a stratigem weapon. I leave more ammo on the ground now because it's a death sentence to have only half a magazine. I'm tempted to just use my sidearm because it's got better results and ammo economy than the primaries. This shouldn't be the case, but I'm not going to make too much noise because those footjobs at arrowhead will just nerf it too. Game was fun. Now I'm having less fun. I don't give a damn about the railgun or the mechs suits. I'd rather have the good breaker magazines. And quit calling them meta weapons. They weren't meta. They were work horses. Now we just got pretty ponies.

15:30 I want to respond to your segment here saying that there's an infinite wall of enemies because, as far as I can tell, there is no player count difficulty scaling. I.e., the difficulty you get with 4 players is the difficulty you get with 1. I understand they (the devs) want to encourage coop play but they really need to add scaling for those who just want to chill on their own.

i think they do increase as you go up in players, at least the spawn rate, that is. mainly because when i would play in groups, i would often have enemies spawn in front or behind me (not bot dropped or from breaches, but LITERALLY spawning in) which doesnt usually happen in solo. but i dont think it is a 1:1 ratio, so i agree with your point

I hope the spawnrates get rolled back soon because right now I basically can't play since my PC can't handle the amount of enemies on the map, pre-patch, it was just fine (medium-low graphics, but still)

As someone who ran railgun before the meta this patch is more annoying than anything else. I totally agree that 1 shotting titans on safe mode was a bit overpowered, but i wish they would have adressed this by reducing quantity rather than quality. For me the railgun was the answer to armor and with the nerf its lacking any alternative that doesnt require a complete retool of my playstyle. I think that a better option would to have dropped the ammo count to 12 requiring players to be more disciplined with their shots and how often they could use a tool. Thats essentially what they did with the breaker and I honestly like the change with that for the same reason. As for the shield, with armor ratings working I get more milage out of the guard dog anyway. I really didnt notice the longer cool down but i wish there was a way to reset it between engaugements. Running halfway across the map with 1 hit left is kinda dumb.

armor has been "fixed" but it's still kinda bad. the armor you get from medium and heavy doesn't do much, and enemies can randomly deal increased damage. I've seen a video of a Scavenger bug dealing little damage to someone, only to suddenly delete half of their HP.

Yeah I've seen that vid. The scav wiped them out in 3 hits usually, but if they critical hit then they'd die in 2 hits.... And that's the _weakest_ enemy in the game, and their damage doesn't change whether you're playing level 1 or level 9. The balancing has a looooong way to go yet.

its incomprehensible to me the devs decided to try and balance anything at all when a vast quantity of weapons is nerfed by the fact they dont work. are bugged one way or another. Take spear the most extreme case. Easily one of the best stratagems in the game but due to a mountain of bugs is essentially worthless. and it doesnt look like bug fixing is a priority

Great video man I really agree on some of your points. I feel very strongly about this "don't nerf only buff" stance and I've been arguing this exact point for about a decade in PVE games. I'm just gonna repost a comment I made elsewhere because I'm uncreative. I really don't understand why the CEO and this guy Cloud get so upset over people bringing up the lacking weapons. Past difficulty 5, running the Liberator Penetrator is not great. Its ammo economy is really bad as taking on a bug tunnel and a couple patrol waves will deplete your ammo to zero. Its serviceable for bugs if you bring a horde clear like the MGs or a flamethrower, but its awful for bots. The Liberator Stunner (Formerly Explosive but they changed it in a sneaky patch) is completely useless. The default pistol is not great and nobody ever brings it. The Revolver is okay but has a slow firerate, slow reload, and not much ammo. The breaker Spray-n-Pray is a complete meme, it takes half a mag to kill small bugs and does little to nothing to bots. The DMRs seem like armor-penning type weapons but underperform against bugs and are only okay against bots. The 2nd DMR you unlock is also literally just the first one but worse in every way. This isn't balanced. What many players want is for all weapons to be brought up slightly in the way of buffs to be competitive with eachother while still filling a niche. For instance, if the SpraynPray had no armor pen at all but could wipe out entire patrols of little bugs seconds it would be decent, but I have run out of ammo for it in the first minutes of the match at high levels because it just takes so much ammo to kill anything other than a scavenger. The Penetrator is definitely decent but what would be wrong with it getting a bit more ammo, or just a little more damage? Everyone was defaulting to the Breaker because its a gun that doesn't waste your time. When you are fighting 11 Spitters, 4 chargers, and a titan or two, you do NOT have any time to waste on the hunters, scavengers, and warriors bogging you down. Picking a shit weapon is wasting your time and practically guarantees your death. I challenge anyone who says the game is perfectly balanced right now to run level 8 and 9 with a Spray-n-Pray, a DMR, Liberator Stunner, and revolvers. If you run that set up and don't feel frustrated by the end of the operation, then I cede all points. We just want most if not all weapons to feel fun and viable at ATLEAST difficulty 5-6-7. 8 and 9 can be as unplayable as they want I guess but 6 and 7 are already very difficulty with shitty weapons.

I feel like part of their reason for nerfing Railgun so hard was based off a crossplay damage bug. Where if there is a ps5 player in the lobby, the pc players can 1 or 2 shot bile titans. So railgun seemed like it was better than it was. There are a couple youtubers and reddit posts explaining this bug further. OhDough did a good comparison showing various damage differences, as well as testing the damage reduction the armor values actually give.

Spitters should be one tap to the face with a missile, even when you throw nades, it always one taps spitters. Yet they never nerfed or buffed the big or the missle from mechs. One moment it does then later it selective as a game and has spitters walk through bullets and missiles. What needs to really change is we need free range of mounting are selves and to swim. No way we run the galaxy and not one helldiver can swim

I would like the devs to not try to balance around some weirdos who want to reliably solo max dificulty 4man coop missions. "What the F do I do when they are on a cd?" - how about you try to play the intended way where 4 people have more stratagems, firepower, etc

well, like i said, depends on the change. if they added a new item in the game without telling people and you find it in the game yourself, that's pretty cool. but if they changed stats on a weapon or enemies, that's annoying lol
