Helldivers 2 added a ridiculous Airburst Rocket Launcher that is very dangerous to enemies and team mates. Let's test it with @Tomographic @Stodeh @WillfromWork Leave a LIKE and a comment, thanks for watching.
Btw the prox fuse can be activated by other helldivers so if you fire it next to someone else who is also firing one or just someone else it will detonate. It also has a large hitbox so fire it in a clear space away from trees rocks or bushes.
I don't understand what happened with it tbh. It used to be impact trigger/very low range proximity and it was so much better to use. Right now it detonates 20m away from anything - and usually that includes in your face.
Remember people, airburst does _not_ strictly mean anti-air. It could be meant to shoot over cover and rain those bomblettes on stuff below. Definitely looks bugged, though.
im guessing it targeting anything infront of its cone FOV rather than what you paint with your reticle. if its working as intended then you have to be far away to hit your target and no friendlies or enemies can be near you
That thing either needs a safe-arm distance or reduce the range of the proximity fuse; it looks like it's going off early as the rocket passes something on its flight path right after launch
"Tonight, on Top Gear: - We try the latest added Eagle 500kg bomb and test out it's capabilities "HAMMOND! You've teamkilled us all!" - James May encounters his first Titan bug "Oh ****" - And I get to bring out the big guns "CLARKSOOOOON, you just obliterated our evac, you absolute BUFFOON!" - "Some say....he's best friends with General Brasch...." "Some say....he can ride the bug Titan like an elephant..." "Some say....he completed a mission on helldive difficulty....without dying..." All we know is, he's called The Stig.
So the issue is this: As many have stated this weapon has a proximity fuse. this fuse will trigger on enemies, allies and any random level object that isn't foliage, trees, buildings or water. so if there is a stack of boxes, a random teaspoon, a lawn chair etc. between you and your intended target it will detonate early and of course there is no safety distance.
Pyroclastic flows are the heavy gases debris and rock that flow down the mountain murderizing everyone in their path. These are volcanic plumes. Still very kewl
The current airburst is the experimental version. Next week they're adding the fixed version of the airburst which will work differently. The patch will also have the fix for the Spear launcher *FINALLY*
man I'm still getting shivers from the thought that they may if the devs are true sadists make the back packs of ammunition have explosive physics. like if you hit the rockets on your back it explodes
@@DeltaHouseStudios i mean im suprised how good the updates have been, but i didnt expect this to flop or die in anyway. its an actually good co op game, do you know how rare those are?!
Nobody thought that but apparently you, which I’m still wondering why. Game came out of nowhere and has been plastered all over all forms of social media since 😂😭🤡🤦🏼♂️
The updates have been amazing, but I ment that most new games come out and everyone loves it for the first 2 weeks and then it dies because of updates, I never had a doubt in this game it is one of my favourites and it’s only going to get better
This is pretty much like the Mk1 version of a lot of weapons. Inadequate field testing, rushed to service, probably the lowest bidder......quite realistic actually!
So I tested it and it´s really simple. If something is in your way that´s a bit higher than lets say half a meter, it will detonate. The ideal thing is a flat surface like water or a cliff, where you can shoot it down on enemies. I shot it on water at a group of bots and it killed 25 bots in one shot. When it works, it works extremely good.
@@christophhaas5696 You need to play the Planet liberation mission, that is linked to that weapon. When you play on this planet you can call in the gun by default. It´s a stratagem in your inventory
Turns out that an alarming number of people don't grasp how it works. I think I have seen only a couple people use it from acceptable range and elevation. Most everyone is treating it like the EAT where you just point and shoot at something as it's charging right at you last minute and be fine. It's a little buggy, sure, and the devs are fixing it but I have a feeling that just like barrage strats- you'll be kicked outright for picking it.
I think the rocket launcher is meant to be used against air targets, so it probably has a sensor that triggers the explosive reaction when near something, that way it explodes even tho it doesn't hit flying target and sends out a burst of explosions to hit it? Source: my tired ass brain
For those wondering why the airburst-rocket seems to trigger way to early: It currently gets triggered by just about everything besides regular terrain. In other words, players, samples, ammo packs, mines and even some objects like a stack of tires, will trigger this thing. If you want to fire it *safely*, fire only when none of these things are in close proximity to you.
When we messed around with it, it didn't pre-detonate if their we're no friendlies(or anything) within about 15-20 meters. Less than that, even behind you seems to trigger the proximity sometimes. Didn't do extensive testing or anything but it always worked right if the person firing ran out into the open first lol. Really needs a dumb fire zone for the first 15 meters or so.
Im pretty sure what is happening is the rocket is programed to explode if an entity is within a certain distance of the rocket once fired, and because friendly fire is a thing in HD2 teammates count. So if a teammate is standing anywhere near you when you fire the rocket within this range, it will detonate.
"Disappointing Service" 21:28 sums this cluster frocket up! this thing needs a minimum arming range, so the shooter is always outside of the explosions atleast! my guess would be, that you need high ground for this, so the "trigger bubble" doesnt detonate tooo early!
There is a 40mm grenade airburst launcher that is primarily used to take out hard targets behind cover by shooting over the top of said target. I believe it was the XM-2 but tbh I can't remember
The new airburst reminds me a lot of the Deathbringer rocket launcher from Destiny 2. Basically you click and hold to shoot, then you release when you want it to detonate. When you detonate it, it splits into multiple warheads essentially that then arc down until they hit something or the ground. I assume it's proximity based, but I'm also curious if they would consider switching to a click and release mechanism so you have a bit more control over when it detonates... Or maybe proxy for un-scoped and click and release to detonate scoped in.
Haven't watched it yet, but the title is positive and I like that. So many people have been hating on this thing but when I used it it took 5 mins to learn and it became a great weapon
Airburst rocket can be triggered by samples, other helldivers, etc. it’s bugged. Just make sure whoever shoots it is in front and you should be fine unless some samples are next to you lol
Hold the trigger, let go to detonate. Also it triggers on any enemy in proximity. It used to Detonate on helldivers, flora, fauna, stratagems in proximity. That was fixed though.
I used it yesterday, it was the most fun and funny thing ever, when it wasn’t slaughtering your entire team. It’s literally a portable eagle cluster strike
The in-game lore is that this weapon is merely the test prototype. Right now the proximity sensor on the Airburst rocket is too sensitive, anything remotely close to the rocket during its travel will trigger the cluster explosion. It can be a rock, a leaf, a blaster bolt passing by the Airburst rocket. Devs say that once the planet is liberated, the real versions will be released.
They've been killing eachother for the first 4 minutes and still aren't figuring out that its a proximity based explosion lol. 15 minutes later they finally figured it out hahaha.
The airburst rifle's projectile has a proximity detector and blows up when stuff is too close. Don't angle too low to the ground or it will detect the ground and explode immediately
Funfact: Pryoclastic flow is a mixture of hot rock and ash. They move extremely fast and are very destructive. I recommend staying as far as possible from an erupting volcano to reduce the chances you are caught in the way. (Im a nut when it comes to natural disasters)
it blows up after passing something that it believes is cover/in the air. In helldiver terms this means it detonates if it passes anything not immediately next to you so if you shoot it past a rock at smth it will detonate after the rock instead of at the target. If there is a tree in your line of fire near you when you shoot it, it'll detonate at the tree and kill you
any moving thing is in its proximity, make sure you are in front of your teammates and there are no robots or bugs in front of you and definetly make sure there are no turrets near you.
