Its sad that people take genuinely good and different mechanics and take it to a new hight, get complain about the game and forget what made the game good in the first place.people just seem to forget whats good after the first hundred hour playtime on games.
@@Singularitytwnobody forgot, yall mfs are dickriding this game so hard. They legit break the game every time they add a patch, they nerf weapons that cost MONEY to get or hours of grinding. While making the enemies tougher
@TheJestersDoorhey braindead specimen, while you're saying "don't listen to these videos" mabye you should He said 90% of players on PC, not other platforms And 100k players on playstation isn't thriving lmao, compared to other games and loosing 90% of the pc players, it's a total failure
People over exgerrate dead games, Helldivers isn't dead... it still as an active player base, and great gameplay. We see this happen to almost all games now. You can't expect people to play the same game consisently all the time. Helldivers did have a few drawbacks though, considering what sony did.
still around 60k total players console + pc included, i still have no problem finding games at all, if you truly enjoy this game theres always people going to play it no matter what
The game has been teasing the Illuminate for way too long. Having only two factions to fight against got boring. Also like you said the nerfs were ridiculous. Instead of figuring out why players liked a specific gun and maybe adding flavor to other guns, they'd nerf it to bring it in-line with other less popular guns. Wut? I still occasionally play with IRL friends but I won't be back consistently until they introduce the Illuminate.
@nahfr. Well yeah, that's how games like this go. People hop back in for new content. I just think it was a mistake to launch with only two enemy factions and then to tease the third for so long. I'll still check it out but it'd have been better for the game for the black hole event to lead straight to the new faction rather than whatever is going on now.
It’s an undeniable fact that all live service games will die someday, some just die slower than others. Which is why I refuse to play a live service game that i have to pay for
@@slappyjo1046fr 40,000 players is still a lot and that’s only on steam probably closer to 100k when you add ps players if it ever comes to Xbox the hype will go right back up
Al’s big Junie you should know that they are a one hundred developer team and trying to do they best they are and also you should use new weakens and try stuff out and not be use what other people have the point is is to try new stuff
The game needs new enemy types, the illuminate, and new battlenfronts. Im dying to play on a city ruin map and actually feel like im retaking a planet instead of fighting for some barely settled plot of wilderness.
Its inane man. Love the game but the community takes all criticism as hate and gets mad. This game has a lot of untapped potential, and a lot of things that have gotten fixed are a result of people criticizing it
I think they should add different mission types, like invading underground bug bass missions were you invade the direct home of the bugs maybe you go there to put a nuclear bomb and then extract or get some samples or some other stuff OR boarding automatons space ships were you basically hijacked their ship and have shootouts so you can collect data or set up a bomb in their ship in the inside or rescued a important npc who plays a part of the war like a scientist or a war general Also underground missions for the automaton as well Or a missions were the bugs are like in a asteroid filled with bugs going towards a planet and you have a limited amount of time to stop this asteroid from hitting and invading the planet that belongs to super earth and if the hell divers don’t do it in time that planet is controlled by the bugs
When you have to spend 45 minutes just trying to get into a mission without crashing, disconnecting, or having to deal with gamebreaking bugs, it's an abysmal experience no matter how good the gameplay is. It regularly takes them weeks or even months to fix broken content.
@@Crocc101 No, crashing has been a major issue since the game's release. Infinite loading screen is still happening to a lot of people. Interactions are still bugged sometimes. Random crashes or disconnects still happen quite often.
@@Jumbuck1151 i think you need a better pc I literally have a 8 gb ram laptop a never crashed once and my laptop isn't even that good I only got it for like $500
The thing is, its not a dead game yet, their are reasons to why this is happening, but the community is still growing strong. The reason their is this perception is because of mass youtubers making videos, not knowing what they are talking about, just reading a chart are going by their previous experience with the game. Context goes such a long way, which I respect this video for because you give alot of context. Theirs sooooooo many reasons for this drop off, but I think a lot of it is down to lack of content. Nothing major has happened in a little while and people get bored. Do not get me wrong, I love this game and I like horde style shooters, so its perfect for me. But a lot of people come because its popular, and are so use to flowing content that when they dont get it? they get disinterested. But since its a live service game, and the numbers are dropping, thats what people are calling this out for. I guess they are a small studio, did not expect the huge success to begin with and its taking its toll. I reckon this is just the start. Good video though man!:D
The core gameplay loop is fun. The balance patch made a lot of weapons much better. They have added new mission types that tie into the story. I had stopped playing as I was capped on everything except level, but they have just added in a new set of ship upgrades so I am back playing. The Sony thing was a massive fumble though, HD2 is still unavailable to purchase in 177 countries, though people who did purchase can still play. Not their friends though :(
Things that can save the game(possibly): new factions, buff weapons, add a mode with bigger map and bigger team(8 to 12 players) add a city area with some broken vehicles we could take(an idea of a human faction would be interesting but still no pvp) maybe add a light air vehicles for bigger maps, every 6 months have the game go on sale for big updates
I also hope they have more factions considering three won’t be enough likes from the first game. I hope they’ve been cooking up several more factions over the eight years of development for this game. I generally hope that this game is successful because is really damn good and personally want to see this my favorite game this year thrive in the future
I’ll stand on this but I think arrowhead made a fun game by accident. Ever since launch they have been changing the game to what they feel it should be. Helldivers being as fun as it was the first month wasn’t intended. Also their balance team seems to hate fun.
The problem with the nerfing is that they nerf way too much. Like guns just aren't allowed to even be decent, outside of some niche ones. And then of course the PSN thing pushed a TON of players away, and on top of that there's just no new big content. They've been teasing vehicles and new factions for months now, and the closest we've gotten to vehicles was the exosuit. The illuminate are supposed to come from meridia, and we have no clue how long it'll take for that to actually happen.
The easiest way(a lil controversies maybe) for them to make adjustments to balance out metas is 1. add other options 2. Add an attention system, so you can change base functions of weapons without completely removing it. Ofc add trade offs but thats common in most fps
And what were the numbers for Suicide squad again ? Helldivers 2 will get better numbers again, devs need a vacation too, many people are talking a break as well. Live service games numbers always varies, but don't way it's over or it's dead.
This entire video can be summed up without even watching it: This is literally just the standard of what happens to coop pve games Every single one of them will have a really big launch, and then as people play it on launch, they drop it after a while LITERALLY every PvE game ever, barring a handful of exceptions, does this The most notable of those exceptions being Left 4 Dead and 2. Because they go on sale for piss cheap, and have been out for 20 years now. Every single other one of them does this. It's literally just how the genre works.
personally what i think will revive the game: unblock those 177 countries (yes im coping cus i cant play) and a mega update, tons of new stratagems, new weapons that arent super soakers, new enemy types for both factions maybe even the illuminates instead will revive the game as well as unblocking the countries (copium moment)
I haven't gotten the game yet, I've been dying to play since launch but other things keep taking my money! I'll be buying it soon enough though, I just hope I haven't missed out yet
they should make it where instead of wearing only one type of armor you can wear diffrent helmets, chespeices, arm braces, leggings, etc. and insead of combining passives. combining the armors result in new passives. if you wear all of one armor set then you get the passive it originally comes with.
I have no problems with fighting the same enemies for months, and the gameplay loop is inspired. I agree that the nerfs were and are ridiculously bad, the balancing was a terrible idea. But my friends and I still love hopping on and fighting for freedom, regardless of little new content.
Did you guys know that this game anticipated no more that 10,000 players at launch. Meaning this game was originally planned for a smaller community anyway. I think is it stayed around 20,000 players that’s enough plus the game doesn’t need a full player base to continue to play anyway. Still a great game to keep in your back pocket for friends. But I mean if 10,000 players is dead than cod and battlefield have been dead for a long time
Even if 10k players is dead (which is not) cod and battlefield have never died, even if I hurts to say CoD and BF still sell hundreds of thousands of copiens whenever a game launches
As a fellow helldiver’ I do see the lack of content as I have all war bonds and upgrades maxed out only benefit is different store updates on armor sets. But they lost it at the 160 regions that psn locked out of the game
but it didn't lose its player base more then half of it just cant play anymore because its banned in there country now big L on sonys part ngl they really had a game of the year worthy game
Noticed massive performance issues recently. Used to run the game at a solid 165fps, but in recent months I’ve been struggling to go above 34fps. Could be why some people are quitting, such as myself, unfortunately.
Are you kidding me that’s impossible, it’s not even the game it’s your pc. I don’t even have good specs but the performance has stayed a consistent 90 fps
@@slappyjo1046 I have a 3080ti for my graphics, I run other high demand games perfectly but HD2 is apparently too much compared to red dead, elden ring, and gta
@@dapperdino6044 I have a 3050, 5600x, and 16 gigs and have no issues. You might be bottlenecking your pc and that is why you can’t run certain games well
Everyone calm down We've just played it too much and everyone just needs a break from the game It happens to all games you cant play the same game over and over again you know? I have great hopes for the next updates to come to this game :>
Dawg I have no clue how people are still leaving this game. I got well over 200 hours in this game and Im still having a blast. Go do something else besides take your damn quazar and shield pack every helldive game. Its so funny how many people say “this game is repetitive” when I can predict at least 80% of their main loadout. I get if youre just bored of the game as a whole, but when you use the same junk every time and expect something new, you have lost your rights to talk.
I know, I’m saying the ice armor should actually give us buffs or immunity to slipping on the ice/ blizzards on those planets. Right now they do nothing
the games is fine it just isnt the type of game that forces you to play all the time by removing fomo an rewarding players who didnt even play people feel free to leave after they have played what the game had to offer the game is fine just most people have done every thing an moved on until there new content
Eruptor quickly became my GOAT primary and after they nerfed it I began to lose interest. Now I'm resource capped for month, nothing to buy from Warbonds because I don't trust them ever since the Eruptor nerf. Anything I buy that ends up being good will get "balanced". No thanks. Until they put some material in the game for me to spend resources on there's no reason to play.
This game isn’t dying and it sure as shit isn’t “falling off”. If something isn’t fortnight or cod big I swear yall panic instantly. Helldivers 2 is a coop shooter and it’s the undisputed champion of its genre. It isn’t failing or wasting its potential it’s a runaway success. Let the devs enjoy their vacation sheesh
90% does sound like alot unless but if you helldivers 2 has droped to 40000 players it doesn't sound as bad Even when i play at a non prime time i still get like 5 second wait time to some players although it seems the game doesn't have different server since i all ways match up with usa players even tho im from the middle east although id say thats a net positive pretty laggy but I GET THE FULL FORCE OF FREEDOM AND DEMOCRACY ON MY SIDE TO KILL THE ENEMIES OF SUPER EARTH
It did last when after launch it just all that bs Sony taking away the game a few countries and nerfs keeps make guns weaker made the game more frustrating than fun
It pains to see this in helldiver's, people will flock towards like fortnite, overwatch, call of duty and despite complaing about those games problems they still play them. But when Helldivers comes along and the developers make one mistake, its all OH THIS GAME IS COMPLETE GARBAGE AND IT HAS TO DIE L BOZO TRASH GAME. A lot you guys will avoid live service games you have to pay for but then you'll see the newest cod announcement and just dick ride it anf get disappointed when it comes out. Im aware that helldivers has problems that has to be fixed, but when other big games like cod come out completely unfinished you all just accept it and wait.
Most popular games loose about 90% of their players overtime, this is nothing special. I'd say the fact that its still having about 45k players on pc is actually pretty good still.
People saying this shit is dead without realizing that every game falls off eventually. It doesn't matter what kind, and this game is no different. If having a reasonable amount of players (40,000 players) is considered dead then pretty much most games out there are "dead".
Clickbait trash like a majority of youtubers. Every game in existence loses a majority of players. Because people can't play the same game for eternity. Helldivers 2 still holds the Playstation record for the fastest selling game ever. Major success and definitely game of the year 2024.
I literally said that what this game is going through isn’t a new thing happens to most games, but they could’ve prevented it. Stop crying just because your favorite game is losing players
@@yvn_youngdexter2741the thing is the most people that stopped playing it daily play it once or twice a week maybe it don’t reaches 400k players daily anymore but still a lot of people play it compared to other games
