One of the biggest problems that these people have is their complete self-absorption leading to an inability to understand not everyone thinks the same way they do. Most of us can differentiate between real life and video games/movies, but they can not. Helldivers 2 players are based, I made many new friends fought and had good fun while fighting for Super Earth and finally made a Deadpool to bet who dies first or more in certain days.

Same! It's the first game in forever that I'm happy to use in-game voice chat. Fantastic community in game, love everything about it and how the Dev's are handling themselves. If people want PvP, there's a TON of games that have it, go pick one and play it...cooperative play is much more fun for me.

I second this. I’m addicted and while you’d think it would get repetitive it doesn’t!!! Such a pleasant surprise for 40 bucks. I want to spend some real money and help the devs out but you earn so much in game currency you don’t have to. Constant updates and little teasers. It’s just fcking fun and I’m here for it 🫡

it's because the same group of women (if you can even call them that.) are a bunch of people who hate's themselves and is insecure of their own look and would rather smear beautifully designed and attractive female characters. in order to make themselves feel better.

To me be mad at all or none, men are just as sexualized as women in video games. No one complains. In fact I have yet to meet any fellow female gamers in the flesh who want what these consulting firms are selling. We want beautiful female and handsome male characters in our games.

Not to mention eating disorders also affect males, who are just less likely to disclose (like literally every mental health issue men face). There is an entire industry and work out supplements and steroid use aimed mostly at men to achieve unrealistic body standards. It happens to guys too... I've heard more women in my life being exclusionary on male physical attributes then I have ever heard men be categorical about not dating women because of their body type.

Every single woman I know who actually plays games has always made her characters as attractive as possible. In fact, my female characters tend to have less revailing outfits than theirs more often than not. Just like men like playing as jacked macho heroes, women like playing as badass and sexy heroines.

It's the least toxic community I've encountered. There's always a few douchebags considering there's 100s of thousands of players on at a time but thats unavoidable. Helldivers are the most nice and cooperative community I've seen in a multi-player game.

Wholeheartedly have to agree. I’ve not played with anyone who will turn down a hug. Knowing we may never cross paths again. It’s the least toxic community I’ve ever encountered in an online game. Being 100% honest.

I may have sworn at a few players. Things like "FFS stop spawning me in front of turrets you bloody muppets!" but it does depend on when (and who) you drop with. Late night/early morning for me tends to be... special.

I think they have some inkling of the relationship between suffering for a righteous cause and virtue. However they don't know what righteousness actually is, so they are stuck acting as if suffering itself is a virtue. Incidentally this is part of why no social ill can ever be remedied for these people. If things are good they have no way to locate a virtuous cause because they are not sure exactly how virtue is obtained as that requires affirming objective standards of morality that exists outside of themselves.

As a suggestion for more PvE smaller squad games, I may suggest some of the younger helldiver fans checkout Outriders, I know it's part of SBI detected list...but the bundles going cheap. Think gears of war gunplay with mass effect powers...in hindsight, I don't think SBI did much apart from make the female toon look like they could bench a truck and take a sledgehammer to the chin...oh yeah, has transmogs for those completionists/ loot goblins out there. I cleared the game with a maxed lvl 50 technomancer, my buddy played either his devastator or pyromancer. Good times.
