I literally love this mission. I clear everything and then stand there, just listening to the music

Because, as we all know, EVERYONE hates defense missions, I guess.

It's funny how pop culture works, I'm not saying it specifically for you, but if the human faction in this game were, for example, an empire, there we would see comments saying that they would give their lives for the king and that, obviously they are memes but in the end the people want to be part of something bigger

@@publiocornelioescipion8803 Absolutely, because it gives people the feeling that they caould actually achieve something big within/with their lives. In this case its spreading """democracy""", in yours its strengthening the empire and thus their own life and status (and similarily for real world national anthems). And for music bands its showing that you are part of their fan group in order to feel part of a group and connected to other people, which is a core element of being human

And here, simpley being here and listening to the Super Earth Anthem is us wanting to be part of the Helldivers 2 Community and wanting the game to prosper and thus enhance our own little lifes

@@publiocornelioescipion8803 Super Earth is pretty much an empire in all but name, peoples literally just click a button and the "vote" is decided automatically for them (the virtues of Managed Democracy fuck yeah!)

@@s7robin105a developer hinted that they do have a team that works like dungeon masters for a TTRPG, watching us play and making tiny influences on occasion. I wouldn’t doubt that they have something like secret recordings planned.

What do you think would play if its a loss scenario and what would the different anthems be depending on wich enemy

​@@dominicgelinas7340 If it's like the first game it will be the same. This just feels like the game's credits song, especially at the 2:00 mark when it switches from the anthem to the generic trumpets (still good) to the end. I'm not sure how victory will fully work in HD2 as the other factions don't have a home world like in the first.(unless they are just undiscovered yet) As it stands I'm betting we have to take over every planet.

The same music or a very similar version is played in raise the flag missions by the drone filming the flag being raised. Quality is bad ingame because emitted from the drone.

It plays just the song as the flag is raising. I don't hear any lyrics.

@@cjrecio5702 Pretty sure this is the music that plays when the flags are raised. In game it sounds much lower quality because it is emitted by the camera drone or by the flag-deploying machine itself but the lyrics are the same

@@Waldherz Yeah, but that's the same music. Maybe it's related to music tastes and habit but I usually forget musics have lyrics and just remember them with instruments or choirs instead of meaningful sentences. But you are right the one during the mission doesn't have lyrics and this one does.

Whole damn game does harder than it should

It's very hard to tell. It does seem like everyone is practically brainwashed into this patriotic, democratic society but at the same time the helldivers are essentially heroes, saving civilians and fighting threats to their way of life. So it's easy to look up to them and consider their views as your own.

The last minute or so of instrumentals is actually Johan Lindgren's Helldivers 1 main theme, reorchestrated by Wilbert Roget II at the tail end of the A Cup of Liber-Tea extended track. The combined work of two fine composers.

Yep, it's a slowed down reprise of the original theme's melody. It's a nice touch for everyone who -played the first game- fought tooth and nail for managed democracy in the first wars, or had loved ones who did.
