Yes, it IS a Heller kit.. so there.. tough!!
Kit Rating: 7 / 10 (It is old, and full of rivets, but it went together without any filler!!!)
Decal Rating: 9 / 10 (The decals were yeloow but in this case it did not matter, as the yellowing blended in with the background colour. They worked very well with a drop of Klear)

Nicely done. I love you how you get such a flat looking paint job with no paint brush trails. Looks great!

Thank you.. The rubber bands are courtesy of the Royal Mail, the postmen use them around bunches of letters and / or parcels and when removed from the afformentioned, just dumps them anywhere, littering the pavements.. so when I'm out with the dog or otherwise I pick up a few every now and again, if in good condition. They are nice and wide which makes them a practical tool for lining up the wings for a close fit against the fuselage, resulting in less, or no, filler needed.. :)

Thank you.. and yes, please do!! :) :) I should hopefully have the Hunter FGA.9 ready by tomorrow.. did the final decalling this morning and some touch up paintwork when I woke up.. now it's just all drying out so I can varnish it tomorrow morning and then hopefully photograph the finished model once the varnish has dried.. :)

I wouldn't mind a summerhouse in Denmark either.. on the Baltic coast, where we used to go on holiday.. lovely beaches, great food.. nice people! :)

Of'course you can.. :) :) This model is not my best effort but I'm quite pleased with it anyway.. :) Now I will lay off Heller kits for a (little) while, and build some more modern kits... :)

Thank you.. It's not easy handpainting white, and the paintwork isn't flawless, but it looks ok on my shelf.. soon enough it'll be covered in dust anyway! :) I would love to build one in 1/48 as well.. :)

Yes, the Spit and the 109 are the two planes people tend to think of mainly when it comes to WWII aircrfat.. :) glad you liked it, it's not my best effort but it turned out ok,. :)

Sorry for late-ish reply.. Flash is the thin excess plastic that forms around some parts as the toolings gets old and worn.. You need to remove it as the parts won't fit, otherwise! Luckily it is easy enough to get rid of, using sanding paper or a sharp knife.. carefully scraping it off! :)

Thank you! The E version of the 109 is more menacing, it has a more sinister look about it.. but I can't really decide which one of the two I prefer.. :)

Thank you.. and yes, the desert camos (be it RAF or Luftwaffe) of WWIi are amongst my favourites too, they always stand out... :) Quite tempted to build a desert camo Fw 190, but not sure when to fit it in.. :) Should hopefully have my latest project, a 1/72 Hawker Hunter FGA.9 ready by tomorrow, it just need a coat of varnish.. :)

Thank you!! :) And yes, I have every intention to build (another) Corsair... :) I have a couple of different kits to do, but the one I'm likely to do (when I get round to it) is the Italeri 1/72 kit of a Korean War Corsair... with rockets under the wings! :) I have already built a WWII Corsair, using the excellent Hasegawa kit in 1/72.. :) Should have a video of it on this channel I think, I built it a few years ago.. :)

Thank you.. :) I'm not sure about the G version being the most produced, as my knowledge in detail about the Bf 109 series is fairly limited.. but it is certainly possible!! :) :) I'm leaning very heaviluy towards building another Spitfire and soon.. I'm getting withdrawals.. but at the same time there's a lot of other projects I also want to do.. so we'll see.. :) Should have my Hawker Hunter ready by tomorrow I hope.. :)

Excellent 109, Love the desert camo. I've got the Revell 1:48 F model, and became far too frustrated with it to keep going, I think this video may have changed my mind :) Excellent addition of the figure really makes it look real. As I said before the white bands are terrific, job well done :)

I'm a huge fan of your videos (One of the only channels I subscribed to) and through all the videos I've watched I was never really clear of what exactly "Flash" is. I'm a relatively a young modeler and I am somewhat new to the hobby, however, I really love the hobby and I am so glad my friend introduced me to it. Not one gram of filler was used on this model! :) It was actually quite enjoyable.. and had scope for some scratchbuilt detailing in the cockpit, but I didn't feel like it, so crammed in a pilot figure instead.. fills up the cockpit all the same but is less work!! :) And as you know, my current build is the new-ish Revell (original) 1/72 Hawker Hunter FGA.9 kit, with considerably more detail to it.. and many more parts and options of different versions.. :) So I don't just build old stuff.. :)

If I had a penny for every person on RU-vid who asks me that question, I could have retired a very rich man by now. :) I haven't got anywhere to use an airbrush & even if I did, I would still handbrush, it is my preferred method, it suits me & I am enjoying it. At the end of the day I'm perfectly happy with the way my models look, I only build them for my own pleasure after all, not to enter copmpetitions & similar events, so I see no need to use an airbrush! :) But thanks for your concern.. :)

i'm currlently in poland for my summer holiday before i start secondry school and it is like 36 temputre and you can only survive in the weather like that for couple of minutes before retreating in to the shade and then again out side

Maybe old kits are no rival for modern ones when it comes to the quality of their pieces, their fit and so on, but they have the charm of some painting schemes that are relatively rare in some cases at least, and they also have the charm of... well, of what is old. That said, I must say that probably the desert scheme is my favorite of all those that the Bf-109 had. This kit looks so elegant indeed! Smart model :)

Nothing wrong with Heller.. that a bit of good will and determination can't sort!! :) But right now I'm enjoying a new-ish Revell kit, an original issue with lots of detail and totally different to build, compared to this old kit.. but variation is the spice of life they say.. and I agree!! :) This wasn't my best effort, but the end result is acceptable.. I think!! :)

Well, that is a good question, but I haven't got a good answer, as I'm not all that familiar with Poland, unfortunately.. :) Much as I enjoy building Polish aircraft and tankettes.. :)

i'm building this kit now (literally!) mine was ordered as a trop version,but they sent a European one, which turned out to be the trop version with new decals! i know this because there is only the desert air filter in the kit. i do have some afrika korps transfers spare, so i can finish it in a desert scheme, which is a really nice look on the 109.

Well i am an airbrush guy myself, but i think using paintbrushes gives a much more original result. As for spirit, i think all of Rob`s kits has lots of spirit :)

Excellent Afrika 109 :) I bought the Revell/ICM 1:48 109F and I couldn't finish it it was such a bad kit, so I'm pretty excited to see this one looking so nice, I like the look of the old decals giving it a weathered sand burned look :D

It is a very old kit and up to a certain year (not sure when) most model kits of German WWII aircraft did include decals for the swastika.. I have two different editions of another German aircraft and one set of decals have the swastika, the other one doesn't.. :)

I have every intention of one day going to Liverpool.. as for when, nobody knows, as yet.. but don't rule it out! As for issues, my everyday camera has started to make a very funny noice (no laughing matter though) when I operate it, and money is tight like heck at the moment, so can't afford a new one.. nor any new kits.. :P So we're both in the same boat.. sinking fast.. :P Yes, it's all very good to be serious.. but sometimes it is good not to be as well.. fatoonk fatoonk Ann Wibblebum..

Sweden is no longer a country I know and recognise.. it has changed drastically over the last few years, and I find I no longer think of it as proper home.. but I still love the nature of Sweden and if I ever get into real money, I would love to have a summer house there.. by the sea somewhere.. :)

i think the 'E' version is a lot more synonymous with the war and Germany. the 'E' version was the first major upgrade on the previous versions and was introduced in the Spanish civil war and was the first main fighter of world war 2 and the battle of Britain. although the 'F' version was used in the latter parts of the battle of Britain, I think because of the battle of Britain the 'E' is the most known model. which is what I grew up on. :) but then again, maybe its just the best 109 ever.
