Once again, we get a reminder that we just never know what we may witness via these live cams...
Note the red SUV coming in, from the main rd, on the right...
Were they playing w/the beautiful dog? What on Earth WERE they doing?
Then, we see the horrifying part - they get in the car, but leave the dog OUT of the car as they try to leave. WTH?!
We see them driving off, dog running around, trying to get in car, then chasing car as they leave.
Unfortunately, vehicle and dog leave our view, so we cannot see what else happened. I didn't keep recording bec I didn't know if we would see the car head back the same way they came and I didn't want this video to risk being too long.
Well sure enough, a few minutes later, I did see them heading back the way they came. I did not see the dog chasing them at that point.
One of the Mods in Hellgate Osprey shared this: "The same car and dog have been in the parking lot before and done the same thing. They must be doing some training with the dog."
My initial thoughts/feelings after reading that was first relief, bec this would then mean that most likely, they did not abandon that dog. We know people do that sort of heinous thing all the time.
My second reaction was:
Training? What the heck kind of training would that be? I'm a dog person and have been for my entire life. I have never heard of, or seen anything like this, even remotely as "training", so no, makes ZERO sense to me. What are they teaching dog - to chase cars?!
The only other thing I considered = was this the humans being completely lazy and rather than some sort of training, this is how they give their dog a run for the day? I have no idea. That possibility doesn't really make sense either bec dog didn't run very long before that vehicle left the parking lot. That's not a whole lot of running to then call it exercise for the day.
Tossing a ball in the parking lot for a good length of time would be a great way for dog to get exercise rather than this dangerous nonsense.
I DO know I don't like it, don't approve of it and certainly don't think dog learns one single thing EXCEPT = don't trust your humans! You'd better not get out of the car sweet, beautiful doggo bec your family might just take off w/out you! That's my take on it anyway. Geez people - wth?!
And how about you? What do you make of it?
~Thanks for watching.
~~Thank you shout out to both Cornell Bird Lab Cams and to The Montana Osprey Project for the never-ending, beautiful gift of these cams.

I also saw this happen a while back and couldn't believe my eyes. I too thought they were trying to leave the dog. What scared me was the car was going around in circles and the dog was close to the tire of the car chasing it and they weren't going real slow either. I was so afraid that poor dog was going to get hit. I wish I could of seen the license plate because they need to be turned in for animal endangerment. Take the dog to the beach or park to play, they are just plain lazy. They don't deserve that beautiful dog!!!

So you're another person who witnessed these same people doing this before? Wow, how endlessly sickening. Yes, it's deplorable behavior w/ZERO chance of any plausible, sane "explanation" for what they are doing. ~Sadly and all too often, we know how this goes... if confronted by any kind of authority about it? They would probably give some lie about "exercising", "training" or some other b.s. story. Then, they would be told not to do it again and that would be that. ~~'Makes my blood boil re too many people out there having kids and/or critters who certainly ought NEVER have either under their control.

I will be 66 years old next month, grew up in the country around many types of dogs, including hunting dogs, and I have never ever EVER seen anything like this for "training". If they are that lazy and this is "exercise"- well then that's even worse. I can only believe that they are trying to dump it and the poor thing keeps following them and maybe the kid is crying to pick it up... who knows?! Makes me sick- and even worse what they are teaching the kid. Maybe there's another camera around that caught the license plate??!

TY as I feel EXACTLY the same re EVERY word you wrote. My mind canNOT comprehend what on Earth these people are doing. The Missoula College River Campus rt there, on the left, most likely has cams on their bldg.. I don't know that anyone would be successful in getting that beautiful dog away from those humans but one never knows. ~I had these neighbors yrs ago who had another gorgeous doggy but that one was kept chained to a tree ev damn day. We shared a driveway so I easily saw the fam of 4 coming and going. My heart broke watching that dog wag their tail for the family's arrivals, only to be ignored over and over. I would go over there, love on the dog and give them treats. I also saw old full chicken skeletons and I was infuriated at that too. I took a risk and spoke to the woman, asking if I could please find a home for their dog where she could get more attention. This nutty woman exclaimed: "Oh no! We LOVE our dog; she's a BIG part of our family! My husband takes her w/him for a run bef work all the time!" OMG for REAL?!?! Too many people believe their own lies to better live w/themselves I suppose. I also let her know any poultry bones can be deadly to dogs. ~~Sadly, all over our world, we know = only the VERY blessed of critters live truly loved and properly cared for, protected lives. 💔

We had a dog that liked to run. The dog free ranged. When we drove away from the cabin the dog would try to follow us and give up in 100 yards or so, and head back to the cabin. So, we decided to drive slow and he would follow us 2 miles down the road. When came to the highway, we stopped and he would jump into the truck-bed. When we headed back, we would stop when we got off the highway. He would jump out of the bed and follow us back to the cabin.

I used to have dogs of mine in the back of my pick-up ONLY when people were also back there bec anything can happen. That was yrs ago, when it was okay for kids w/adults to be in the back of a pickup. We used to pile a bunch of us in and head to the beach, with whatever dog was in my life at that time. Somebody in the back of the truck would always keep the dog close. But myself, no, I would never have a dog of mine in the back of a pickup by themselves. I'm not willing to risk the unknowns myself. ~I don't find what these people are doing to be excusable at all, for any reason as it makes ZERO sense to me. Run and play w/the dog in the parking lot = fine. Drive your car off, confusing your dog who just wants to be with you and make dog chase the vehicle - heck no! In addition, those unknowns I mentioned... what if one of these times they're doing this, deer run across the highway, dog sees deer and runs to chase them? Then what? Maybe the end of dog's life? Heck no, not my dog.

So wrong and hate watching this but some people have a really sick, twisted and mean spirited /spiteful sense of humour so this sadly doesn't suprise me, I've seen similar "pranks" done to small children (youngest looked about 4 or 5) on online videos too. :( Agree with other commentor, some people should not and don't deserve to be pet parents (or, I would add, parents of human children either for that matter) .

Amen Caz - to all that you wrote. If you read my description under the video, a Hellgate Osprey Mod said they've seen that same car, doing that same thing w/that same dog before! What the hell? I would love to meet those people, show them this video and tell them I am taking their dog to MY home where he/she will be SAFE from such horrible treatment. There is NOTHING in existence that would "justify" doing this, EVER.

But if you read the description that I wrote, under the video - plus there's a viewer below - we can see that these same people have been seen doing this whatever-they-are-doing, before. That being said, it would seem like no, they did not abandon the dog. However, it is my opinion, right along w/many others, that they sure as heck ought not have any dogs, EVER.

We know people do get busted for crimes caught on video however, with these people? I doubt any charges would be made due what law would they be breaking? We who truly care about our dogs, or who care about any living creature ours or not, know this is despicable behavior. However, my guess is that if someone called them out on what they are going? They'd most likely claim it's for "exercise", or it's for "training" or some other lame "justification". ~I hear you loud and clear - it's completely disgusting but I don't know if anyone could charge them with anything or, better yet, take that beautiful dog away from them.

@DLionheart
@DLionheart 14 дней назад
@@mikehunt-fx7sf Mike, I hear you... ~I did report it in Twitter. A Hellgate Osprey Mod in Twitter said they must be "doing some kind of training" = WHAT?! Then, I saw in a popular raptor forum website, someone else also saying those people are "doing training" = WHAT?! (Other viewers in Twitter said they've seen those people do that before and people here in YT said the same. LOTS of people are just as baffled by this as we are and agree = this is wrong and is NO "training"!) ~~So - all due respect to other people's opinions but hell no, this is not ANY kind of "training"! To train WHAT pray tell? Teaching dog to not trust family bec they might take off w/out him/her?! Teaching dog to have anxiety getting out of car bec their humans might not allow dog back into car?! Give me a break. ~~~We can SEE dog going back to car, earlier on, as if anxious to get back in. Geez, I wonder why? Dog has already learned = humans might drive off and MAKE dog chase car. WHAT else are we "training" dog to do = chase cars?! ~~~~Mike, I am not going to report this myself bec what do I have? Video of these people doing this but who can read the license plate? Not I. People have shared they've seen same car/same dog/same absolutely ridiculous behavior re making dog chase car, as they drive away. We cannot see how far they go bef letting dog back in. I don't know what law exists in Missoula, Montana, USA under animal welfare that would/could help this dog. ~~~~~We have no idea when these people may re-appear in the parking lot to do this again. Plus myself, I live on the other side of the USA. What would I do? Call the law up there in MT, tell them what myself and others have seen and then what? What could they do w/out knowing who the people are or when they may return? ~~~~~~I suspect what is REALLY going on here is this = lazy people doing what they think is exercising their dog. They play w/dog somewhat, in parking lot, with a ball or toy. Then they drive off, making dog chase car. So to me, it's no "training" but rather lazy people who believe making dog run to chase car is getting dog exercise. That's my take on it anyway and bottom line? It's wrong. Toss that ball MORE! Make dog run THAT way, chasing BALL, not CAR. Ugh. Some people...

That person also thought the people left the dog there bec why wouldn't we think that? I live far away from there however, I would have called the police up there, told them about what we saw on the video and reported them myself. But then that HG Mod posted what they did, so I didn't contact the police. ~~We can't be 100% sure they didn't leave the dog since we cannot see what happened when they drove out of our view w/poor doggy chasing their car. But odds are they didn't abandon the dog there since the Mod claimed to have seen the same people, same car, same dog, doing all the same things. ~~~However!! all of that being said, as we can see by the many comments - NO one thinks this is acceptable behavior for ANY human being to do to any dog! I feel so bad for the child and his dog. This isn't a proper childhood: running in a sad parking lot with your dog and then your parent making you drive off without it as 'training' while you helplessly watch it through the car window as it desperately chases after you. I've seen similar 'training' from self-described horse trainers on instagram where they'll chase their horse around with a car. It gets called out as lazy and dangerous. How about you take your kid and your dog to a park and teach the dog recall like a normal responsible adult.
