Oh and once, when I was very young I used to travel around many shows and events as my parents were ice cream people. I got to start a drag car for a demonstration, I revved it a few times as per their instructions and the engine proceeded to rip itself apart casing £10,000 worth of damage! Insane. Apparently it would have happened regardless of what I did so that was a relief. Sorry for the second comment I remembered this later haha
Fun fact, in 1963, 1964 and 1967 it was the most popular drag strip in america because it was in the middle of a corn field near a small town in the middle of nowhere of wisconsin yet not too far a drive from milwaukee or chicago.

I'm just glad to NOT see a " VINTAGE " style car with a modern dual distributer 426 style powerplant. And I'm Chrysler to the core man , but the recent F/A first over 300 from a funny car with an old car body is just absurd . I would rather see an honest , hard working guy with a SB Chevy take a vintage record.
This is boring compared to something like isle of man. They go these speeds, for 2 hours straight, through narrow streets, on motorbikes. Over 150 people have died since it started in the late 1890s.
He is pouring nitro methane directly into to the air intake of the engine to help it Start. Those engines have such enormous fuel injectors that they dont start very Well because they are made for high rpms and high Power output
