WHO I AM
Hello, my name's Jen. I'm an award-winning poet and short story writer. My debut short story collection 'The Beginning of the World in the Middle of the Night' is published by Two Roads, and my children's books 'Franklin's Flying Bookshop,’ ‘Franklin and Luna Go To The Moon’ and ‘Franklin and Luna and the Book of Fairy Tales’ are published by Thames and Hudson. Hey, it's so good to see you. Please be kind to yourself! Operations themselves, never mind complications (including the mental toll), are so traumatic and absolutely no pressure from me or any of us who watch re: video frequency! We love seeing you when we see you. I'm very jealous of your lovely office. I'm getting my own flat within the next year, which is so exciting because I can decorate it from scratch. Your room is lovely and I love the fact that every picture has meaning. The Lick paint is very, very pretty. I'm looking at paint at the moment and the price is stressing me out so much, but this would definitely be dream tier paint. I especially like the adhesive samples rather than my usual sellotape! The aesthetics in your videos are always very pleasing. I also love the colour of where you're sat, and the pop of colour from the flowers. Again, rest up. And don't push yourself too hard too soon, its really frustrating to slow down (especially when you're almost getting 'there') but worth it in the long run. Rest up! xx

You never have to apologise for taking time off ESPECIALLY when it concerns your health. That comes first, always. I’m glad you’re feeling better. The office is looking wonderful and you’ve given me some great ideas for our study/house in general. I’ve been loving seeing what other people do with their homes, too.

The Lick colours are really lovely. When I moved into my house in November I had their little squares everywhere. I'm still decorating though, I've only done one room. I got really excited by the fabric sample for a moment. I thought it was the same colour as my new sofa- pottery pink- but it's a slightly different texture. Still, really exciting to see someone else utilise all the wonderful colours in the world!

It’s so good to see your bright eyes and smiles again. I’m happy to know you are slow-pacing yourself into your June schedule as needed. Your office looks fabulous!!! 🌸🌟🌱 I can see your plan and personality shining thru. The paint and print colors along with your furniture and soon to be added pink chair look amazing together. The effect of your brushstroked yellow is that it looks as if we’re entering a painting, a portal. Yes to the great idea for a bookshelf for your published works. Not only is your writing good, but all your covers are beautiful. The only bad news is that now I can have no excuse to postpone the interior painting I need to do! Take care. I hope you're OK now lovely xx I absolutely loved this office chat!! And you're the only person I know who also does stress decorating!! I am banned from forcing my husband to look at paint colours at 11pm in my high anxiety pms week 😅 I absolutely love what you've done with the space, and the prints. We share an office so I don't have this creative freedom lol. I have a tonne of ideas for rooms in our house, but it often takes time for us to agree... 🤔 I really want a print wall like this. I think I'll do one in the playroom as that's a completely blank canvas at the mo and could be really fun 😊 Decorating videos always welcome!! Xxx

Thank you for the good money around your new space. I am only interested in decorating that has personal significance. My own office is an explosion of yarn and paper at the moment because I am between the memorials for my mother and my father and knitting helps. Your consistent voice also helps.

I’m dreadfully sorry to hear you’ve been poorly, and very glad that you’re feeling a bit better. This was a lovely video! Don't apologize for being away -- that's life! I do hope you are well though! I've been away from watching RU-vid because I had to travel overseas to see family, and at the same time buy a new house, try to sell my old house, and put down my suddenly sick cat. Like I said, that's life. I'm looking to decorate a new space too (after 26 years in my current home), so this felt like a wonderful chat with a friend. BTW I usually read about 8 books a month and in May I read one. You gave a lot that I could relate to here
