Sometimes I wish I could wake up in my bed 5 years old again back when the world still seemed warm to me. I remember when summer days lasted forever, the sky was bluer. I remember every day feeling like a brand new day instead of endless repetition. I remember having a very bad home life but at-least I had my grandma who loved me unconditionally. I remember thinking those times would last forever. Every day I get further and further away from those cherished times and they feel almost like a dream that one day I woke up from.

to everyone who is feeling depressed because childhood is over, I'm an adult now and I can tell you, when I was a teen, I thought life sucked and it could never be good again. now, I'm living the best time of my life. I have a husband who loves me (much better than my parents who did everything to make me unhappy), I have a job that I love (I'm a teacher and I love being surrounded by the kids' energy), I can buy everything I want. Life is actually much better than when I was a kid. When I was a kid, I was so afraid of everything. I didn't understand how stuff worked. I was afraid of school, I had no friends, my parents were kinda abusive. I much prefer my life as an adult. What I mean is: childhood is not the best part of your life. You can make your adult life the best part. Just never let that inner kid die.

I really needed to hear that right now. I’m 16 and I’m going through the worst part of my life right now, and it sucks that I can’t do anything to change it because I’m still a kid. It makes me anxious because I always hear adults say “these are the best years of your life so don’t waste them” because those years have been taken from me. I personally cannot wait to go to college and start adulthood :^)

My childhood was in a tiny city like community, we'd run and play in parking lots, and always end up hitting someone's window while playing cricket. When I was 8 I moved to the city and that's when I lived in isolated walls... My childhood was really short-lived. School didn't really have a playground and due to strict measures students barely had time to interact with one another, once I arrived at home I waited for my parents to come after hours only for them to work again.

Humans will never truly 'grow up'. To grow up would be to lose our humanity. We just won't. We grow wiser. We grow stronger. But we never truly 'grow up'. So don't ever worry about growing up. Worry about being the best 'you' YOU can be. Worry about living a life without regrets. And if you have regrets already, it's never too late to listen to your heart and prevent more regrets from occurring. Every one of us is a miracle.

I cried like a child listening to this, I miss the old days so bad. Life was beautiful back then, even with all the problems at home it was still very happy days. It was easier to have fun, not much unspoken rules and norms to restrict us, it was easy making friends and having fun. The skies were blue, grass was green and I fantasized about the little critters living their lives in the grass, imagining what life is like down there with the ants, the ladybugs, every picture came alive with stories that my imagination generates, I could have fun just like that staring at pictures and and playing with common everyday objects, It was really good times. Hope everyone remembers their childhood like I did, thanks for this amazing track

Last week, I found the MP3 player I owned as a 6 year old child. I had 9 songs on there that my dad uploaded, and those songs literally embody my childhood. I also used to record little voice memos of my day, how it went and what I felt. Every audio file on there is damaged, hoping it's just an output problem. I want to try transferring the files onto my computer or phone and seeing if they will play okay. After I found it I really started thinking about my childhood. I've remembered more memories this week than i have in the last month! So I ordered an MP3 player to save the music that's embodying my current life. I'm going to make a big folder for lofi and listen to that the most :)

That kid and his bike was me. I would ride my bike to the nearby trails and get lost in the forest for hours, many miles from home, with no cell phone, totally disconnected. Just me and my little world as a young boy. We're still the same kids we were before. We just allow ourselves sometimes to be molded and disciplined by the path we choose. Maturity is not a bad thing, growing older is a truly a virtue some kids never see. We sometimes get cought up in our adult lives and forget what use to make us happy. Riding my bike to those same trails with my wife and three kids makes me so happy. What makes you happy?

Aha, I still can remember those days. The good old days. Good old days where I could find myself running with my friends towards the small hill to watch the sun set, good old days where I find myself hiding at an obvious tree for our hide and seek, good old days where I just worry about what me and my friends will play tomorrow and what will our dinner be or if my grandmother will still give me candies that she keeps for me and my cousins. The good old days where we sat on the almost destroyed bench and talk about our favorite characters in the cartoon we watched. The good old days where I was literally crying because I lost my slippers and I didnt know how to tie my shoelaces. Where me and my friends were copying some famous movie lines while making flower bracelets. Good old days where I could still clearly picture my bright smiles with chocolates on my teeth while talking to a cousin or to my dog. Where my mom and I used to practice for my singing lessons. Where I just pray to God for this happiness to never end. Good, old times. Now that Im on my teenage years, like everybody else, my happiness was taken away from me. Broken dreams, broken relationships, broken self. I can still remember everything from my good childhood. I wish I could go back, but I couldnt. I loved my childhood. I hope you did, too.

I just turned 21, I'm going into my senior year in college, and on the one hand, I'm excited to move on from school and make something of my life but on the other hand, I'm terrified that I'll screw it up. I want to cling to the times in the past. Times where I felt like I had somewhere and someone to call home but I have to keep moving forward. Life works out, one way or another and I know the best anybody can do is to take it as it comes and find people to spend it with. I just wish I could go back and tell a younger me to enjoy it all a bit more rather than waiting for it to get good. I've been waiting all my life but I've only recently realized that "the good part" doesn't just come. It's there when you make it be there. To everyone younger than me, don't wait. Just enjoy the little things in life. All of them add up to so much more than the big things. It's the small moments shared with someone that matter the most. Thanks for reading to the end. I hope you have a wonderful day!

So glad I found this. If you’re one of the few people who actually found comment in the lullaby mix made by the awesome Dreamy, you’ll know that I have been fighting depression. I am living overseas from my home in Japan, and it is rural. This mix and drawing reminds me of that place, sitting quietly with music, and just relaxing. It really does calm me down. It’s the only way I can feel better. I’m lucky I’m 14, as i am able to experience the nature and being able to just sit calmly with music before it’s too late

Sweet, sweet melodies... 🎶 Deep feelings about all the comment's, how childhood dissappears so quickly we can't even believe it and majority of us here reading 📖 this will agree, we feel that wish to have enjoyed our childhoods, just a little bit more. Longer-term. We miss our childhood dreams, friends, mistakes and misadventures. This is a very deep and very sad feeling for me at first but now so happy 😊 to realize the future ahead. I have a wonderful son now that everyday changes me, shows me that he deserves the best childhood possible. Life is amazing. Love life. I love you all. Have a wonderful night

Once I became an adult I missed my childhood so much. The loss of innocence in the world. The not having responsibilities like bills, mortgage etc, my biggest worry being are we playing on the rope swing or riding our bikes today. I then regained this innocence in the world when I had my first child. He's now four and once I have finished my day being an adult. I get to be a child again. We play robots, how high can we jump on the trampoline. Bubble bath monsters and building forts and dens. While I maybe waffling in my words to anybody that has become disillusioned in the world and doesn't see a brighter future. Take heart that there is always somebody close to you that sees a bright future and the innocence of the world. Take time to enjoy it with them like I do with my son!!!!

Im 19 and I feel so lonely... Since I finished school idk where my life is going. I have literally lost space-time orientation... The days go by so fast... This does not make any sense. I feel lost in a prison without bars. And my childhood is only a distant memory Now. Everything has becomen worse since that peaceful time. Maybe we are not made to be happy but... Maybe we can only be so if we live in an unconventional way and at the same time rejecting to conform ourselves to this standardized society. Hope you have an amazing day ❤

there are many things from childhood i wish i didn't remember, but there was inexplicit joy in the midst of the madness. your childhood days. the beauty that was being a child, scraped knees and missing teeth, unashamedly ugly and unafraid to be wild and fun, no emotions hidden. those days you did get along with siblings, all the games you'd play outside and the 'roles' you lept into without a thought. bike rides and sleepovers, the excitement of bookfair week, the nerves of secret crushes that never seemed to stay secret. back when summers felt eternal, and there was no sweeter sound than the ice cream truck in the distance. the curiosity of finding small critters and stomping in puddles. back when small trinkets and suckers made your entire day! the joy of birthdays and holidays, and the utter pride in calling someone a best friend. there are many things from childhood i wish i didnt remember, but there are also many that I'm glad i do. this is the good kind of nostalgia, I'm glad to be sharing this feeling with you all right now. the good and the bad, God will use it all to create something beautiful.

“When we think of the past it's the beautiful things we pick out. We want to believe it was all like that.” - Margaret Atwood Your life is still worthy and full of beautiful moments. You just have to acknowledge them when they happen. You have to try and look for the good in everything. Our childhoods may be over, but that doesn't mean the best part of our life is over. im so blessed to be born in this generation. i have the lives and life lessons of millions of people at my fingertips. i can learn from each of them, something new, something reminded, or even something fought for. i can listen to anything i want for free and enjoy my time. i hear a lot of complaining about "our generation" from every side, which as valid as it may be, doesnt show the big picture. i want to see more: "im so lucky to be here." im so lucky to hear your stories and share this life with others. im so lucky to talk to amazing people like you any time of day. im so lucky that this will be here in three years and maybe make someone smile. im so lucky for all the mistakes made before me that carved us as a people into something better. im so lucky for the worldwide solidarity we all can have, whether or not we ever meet each other. im so lucky to be able to change peoples lives, save them, even. im so lucky that ill never be forgotten. im so lucky to be alive. no. maybe lucky isnt the right word... im gifted, privileged, and grateful. this wasnt easy i know. but its worth living for.

You know. I wish that maybe....just maybe that I could have had a good childhood or at the very least a decent one. Unfortunately for me it's not that case. People all the time go around saying that they want to go back to when they were kids but it's not the same case for me. Nor is it for others too. Now that I'm an adult I can finally say that I'm free of what pains life brought upon me. Nice parents were always something I envied. Even through the times when I got new families they never really worked out. By the time I got a good family it was already too late. My childhood was already gone. Nothing left in me but an once of depression. I'm just saying that childhood isn't always a good thing. I'll never say I wanna go back. The only way for me to be a functioning person is to keep moving forward. Never look back because the past wont change when you're looking at it. The beauty of life isn't what you used to have or should of had. Its what's happening in the moment. The future is unthinkable yet we look upon it like it's a ray of hope. We look at the past like it's a chance to change things. Nobody really understands the present moment. Yet it's the single most important thing we could have. If you stuck around to read all this then I thank you for your time. You are truly wonderful

But still I could go around wherever I wanted with my bicycle, climb up the smoll mounts near here, which where you could see the sea, or even go to the near by ravine and mess with the frogs there. Sadly both my grandpas passed away not to long ago. Here I am on their house old house, listening to this and remembering those simpler days.

To everyone sad because they left that imaginative and free time that we call childhood. I wish you the best. Don’t be sad. You still have plenty of years to be creative. To run through fields. To sing songs while you swing as high as you can. To dream about airplanes, and hiking the tallest mountains. You have so much ahead of you. It’s 100% your choice of what you do. You could still do those things you always dreamed of doing. You can skip stones. You can travel the world. Don’t let your current state make you worry, or become pessimistic. Look forward to every new morning. Get that job you’ve wanted. Work hard. Be kind. To everyone leaving childhood. You don’t be sad either! Your days as a kid don’t have to be your best days! Being an adult means having tough responsibilities, yes, but you also get so much beautiful freedom. You don’t have to become bitter. You don’t have to stop riding your bike everyday and everywhere. You don’t have to jump into dating, or worry about the next day. Instead, approach your life with wisdom, but also with positivity! Keep staring at clouds. Keep getting excited every time you see an airplane. Catch butterflies. Trade lunches with people. You have so much that you still have to look forward to. Childhood was wonderful, yes, but adulthood will give you so much as well. To all who are still children. Enjoy every day. Wake up with a smile. Keep running through green fields, and looking up at clouds, trying to decipher their shapes. Keep talking about that game everyone in your grade likes, or maybe just you and your friends like. Don’t count down the days until adulthood. Instead, bask in the warm glow of being a kid. But, if your home life is difficult, I am sorry. ♥️ Things will get better. I love you all. Have a wonderful day. “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.” -Dr. Seuss

On the other hand we are the “dream” version of that little kid, we should be proud of who we are now. I'll be 21 next month and it's crazy to think about how much time has flown by. It's been 15 years since I was in kindergarten. I remember my very first crush, my first walk home with a girl, all the competitions my friends and I used to have, playing the nintendo wii and call of duty modern warfare. All of these memories were so special. Every day felt brand new. When I turned 13, things got more dramatic. It was supposed to be cool to cause drama and have a girlfriend. When I went into highschool, I remember how cool it was to be senior and have a car. I remember vividly driving my car to pick my sister up with the sun roof open and the windows down, playing lofi music, while the wind breezed across my hair and the blue skies presented themselves with beauty. And the trees were fresh and blooming with life. The drives home were peaceful and made me think a lot of my future and what I wanted to see. Fast forward to 2017, I met the love of my life, changed high schools, made new friends, but felt busier. I Constantly felt bothered by life and it's uncertainties. However I kept pushing through and graduated. Applied for college at the age of 18, and dropped out because I wanted to be around friends more often, however I noticed that they were moving forward in life. Leaving me behind. At 19, I ended up making new friends, did new things and was able to hold a job. However, the best of my childhood memories got to me yet again. I ended up losing my jobs, playing video games more often, spending time with friends, but they were moving along in life, yet again leaving me behind. 2020: I applied for college again, and I stuck with it. Going through my second semester right now. Still with the love of my life. Recently landed a part time job while going to school. I start this Friday. Most of my friends are either busy with work, or they are too tired to hang out, so we just play games online instead. Picked up new habits and new passions. Started going to the gym more, working on my cars more, spending more time with my lady. Being around my family more. Spending more time reading and learning. Growing in God, etc. [Summary and Advice] I guess for anyone who is younger than me or older than me, keep your head up. These memories and emotions you feel are totally valid. However when you get older, the life you choose is the one you have to make. Everyone gets busier, and it's our responsibility to embrace what life throws at us. I definitely am afraid of what's going to happen in the future. But at the same time, I can't control it. You just have to work through it, to be stronger, build character, make new friends, better choices. I miss my childhood so much... however, I'm ready to lay to rest my times as a child and youth. Just gotta accept everything and grow, I guess. Much love to y'all. Sorry for long essay. lol

Childhood...I can remember, what I was going through. There where good and bad things. I often had little accidents and everytime my mum and my sister helped me, that I can go outside again. The woods at my place where my favorite. My friends and me often grabbed some sticks and played role plays. I really loved to draw. Every year, when I got older, I was drawn more and more. I feeled like a little artist and everyone appreciated my artworks. But some people said, that this isn't a job, to get good money and that I should do something more productive. Suddenly, when I got 17, I lost more and more passion and motivation. I don't know where this feeling was coming from. I ended up as salesman, without any good hobbies now. Sometimes I feel like I want to draw a new picture, but then I think about, what I can do in this time instead of it. That's how the story of my art was ended. Edit: I was first drawing dinosaurs, then monsters, then fantasy creatures and fantasy armory and then I learned the manga style and I was keeping to do more manga stuff. I started to write and draw 2 mangas. The first one was called ,,The legend of the Shinjus" and the second ,,Re:member: Lost Memories" But I left them because of less time and motivation.

I didn't have a good childhood, but this somehow reminds me of a few years ago, the summers where I lived out in the middle of the woods with my grandma. Every other day I would be out on our 4-wheeler tearing down the dirt roads of our back country community. Smelling all the wildlife, the river, and watching the sun set over a huge lake with a wandering dog cuddled up next to me. I would always say to the stray dog "Careful, if you're this sweet to everyone someone might steal you one day." Then I would come home to my grandma, I would clear out the dishwasher and set the table for dinner. Then after that I would message my best friend who lives all the way across the country. I wished time could repeat that peaceful summer over and over again. Before college barged in and tore me far away from that peaceful life in the woods. I have always disliked living in the city, the air feels so stuffy. The people are so depersonalized it's almost depressing. Though I admit it's nice to see their surprised when I toss them a compliment or two in passing, because the people out where I lived were so used to being friendly with their neighbors. If not you wouldn't have a friend in miles. I dream that one day my best friend and I can live out there somewhere together. Unfortunately for me she likes the city so I'll have to settle for the edge of town. hahah.

Right now I'm on my computer, about to get into my last exam for this semester. I went into 2020 thinking it would be my best year so far. I was this close to have one of my dream job, which is to do sound-engineering full-time. I was working twice a week at a club down the street. I worked the hardest and best I could every night for 8 months. A Yamaha distributor in my town noticed and signed a deal with my boss. He said that opportunities were awaiting for me on bigger shows. I thought, finally I can make a living doing something I love; I can leave behind those grudging hours feeling lost at a senseless "job" or at school. Now I wonder if I'll ever be able to get back to it. I had my life planned, I was touching my childhood dream with the tip of the fingers : this close. "In march", I was told, "I'll book you on shows". Then march came round and everyone went to lock-down. You know, I didn't had the easiest childhood either. I'm a cancer-survivor, I'm on the autism spectrum and got bullied from middle-school to college. To this day, I'm just used to people laughing at me, belittling me, because they don't understand, and I scare them. I just shroud my shoulders. I used to tell them all my stories, but I just left them alone now. I lost my dream, I lost two lovers one after the next. I was depressive, I wanted to end my life. Everything was finally getting together, every action I took to rebuild my life since I've survived cancer when I was 8 years old. 16 years ago. 16 years of slowly rebuilding from the ashes, wiped overnight. I got engulfed in social-media hours and hours a day, every day, like a junkie. The hate and the ads and everything turning around in my head, feeling nauseous and numb and alone and scared. Thanks to my ex-boss, the only thing I had was a daily coffee at the corner of the street. Everyday I went and sat in silence and everyday I got a coffee for free. At first it was hard to even walk, to even talk. It felt like all the social abilities I had gathered over the years were cut form me all at once. I'd just sit there and drink. Occasionally I talked about how I felt. Every single day was the same. I stopped working out. I stopped eating three meals a day. I stopped drinking enough water and taking basic care of myself. The world was already so confusing for me before all this; and right after it started to make sense, confinement hit. All my life I was confining myself and I was finally ready for the world. Anyway, I was thinking about all this, as I went on the internet, and then it hit me : I was reading some kind of weird article from an horrid alt-right website. It talked about discipline and cold-showers. I had read that countless times, as anyone trying to better their life with an internet access. Just that. I looked at the world, I thought about what people we're doing and how relentless they could be in spreading hatred and injustice in this world. The only thing I remembered about this article is this : "Discipline is doing whatever you have to no matter what, even when don't feel like it." I read that 1000 times, but this time it sounded different; I thought, if a person with such a sad life and such hateful mentality can get this philosophy and apply it everyday, so can I. Immediately something clicked; the tipping point was reached, the last drop of water made the bucket immediately overflowing. No more numbness; the clarity of my purpose appeared in front of my very eyes. It was like flicking a switch. You know the last level of a videogame? Isn't it always better when you went all this way to finally get stuck? It's enraging, but there is a fire coming in you, a fire coming in all of us. I believe my generation will change the world; we already did, as a matter of fact. I will make films, record music and publish photo books, I will travel in words if I can't travel by foot, I will do anything I can against hate and for love. Thank you if you read this far and now, I'm heading back to my exam. Take care y'all a bunch of amazing people!!

I remember when I was a kid, there were still soda machines around parks and other recreational places that still allowed you to pay 75 cents for a can. When I wasn't in school or if it was a weekend, I would wake up mid morning or so and hop on my bike and head down this cycle path which actually connected a lot of the neighborhood homes together. You go out your back gate and get to this path. People would cycle, walk, jog, or simply use it to go visit a neighbor. There lived this couple at the time who were probably some of the sweetest people in the world. They were regarded as everyone's favorite neighbors. So it would be very common for them to open their gate for people to come in a pay them a visit. Some days my parents and I would bake something and bring it over to them on occasional weekends. They would put on coffee which was always outlandishly strong but nobody said anything about it. Lol. But recalling the soda machines, her husband always used to ask me about school and if I was working hard. Of course I would say yes. He'd tell me the value of education and making efforts to go and learn about things I was interested in and that there's always something great to see even if you just look around a bit harder than you normally would. I was a kid. I really didn't understand the significance of the advice at the time. I simply agreed. It was always my job to bring back the bag or tray of things we brought over. It was always a chore of mine to do the dishes. I'd get so excited because every once in a while when we met with them and I set up to do the dishes after, there would some rattling noises in one of the containers. 75 cents. He'd drop it in there so that I could get a soda with my friends because on Sundays we would hang out at the park. Years later the path became derelict and funding to maintain it didn't seem practical anymore. The couple would have sold their home and moved in with one of their children in a different state. That soda machine, while degraded and caged up, out of operation still remains at what used to be a community center in the park which is now a closed off building in which the city services store their equipment. Never bothered to pull out the coke machine I guess. We still speak with this couple on the phone. They were determined to keep in contact with their neighbors. While they have aged, they are still the hilariously funny, sharp, witty and caring people everyone would remember them to be. Some nights on the way home from work, I'll drop my truck in 4x4 and get over this dirt embankment for a few minutes to walk over and just have a look at that soda machine. I'd get the heck outta dodge before anyone saw but those occasional few minutes replay an entire roster of memories.

This makes me want to wake up 6 years old and try again, not get addicted to video games, make lifetime friends, be more active, don't worry so much, etc. It really is unfortunate that we grow up wanting to be adults but once we are all we want is to be young and free again. If I have kids I will make sure they realize that their childhood is precious and short. I will make sure they enjoy theirs more than I enjoyed mine.

i miss those days where I used to play on minecraft pocket edition with my best friend of 6 years and not having to worry about a single thing. we never call each other unless we would play minecraft, but when we did it would range from 3 to 9 hour calls. I miss those times, but now that we're starting 8th grade we don't have the time to call and play minecraft together anymore but we still talk and we actually have a chance to go to the same college together which is pretty damn neat. Cherish your childhood, peeps.

Many of us didn't have this picturesque childhood, but you know that doesn't mean you cant create one for your children or others. I hope to God I can give my daughter a safe, carefree, imagination rich childhood. One full of whimsey, curiosity, naivety, and honest trust I fear we have lost much of this in our age.
