Why do humans sleep? Why do we need it? When you sleep you use less energy, but it's also the time your body grows the most! Let the kid sleep to he is 16 at least! All great minds throughout history sleept maybe 4 hours or so, and they lived most through age of 70-80 years. if u subtract 4 hours each day of sleep in a 50 year period then you waste a lot of time... well 8 years extra, hahaha I sleep 5-6 hours every day and I feel energized when I sleep lil, when I sleep long, i feel tired, hahaha strange.
The fact that the wife who was concerned by her husband who was not letting them sleep didnt win compared to a dude who was flying and not hurting anyone but himself really stresses me out. The poor children of that family were most likely in poor health, but I guess the audience rather just judge people on doing "strange" things , because they look crazy rather than a person who could be permanently damaging his children's health. I really dont understand this logic at all. That poor boy looked like he was dying.
don't know why the concern that should win doesn't win....the oldest looks so tired, was coughing too and has dark circles too at young age...i sincerely hope he will let himself and family sleep for 7-8hrs
I think the same thing, although the second concern was seriously an idi*t The first concern was like... deathly over the long term. It is actually considered child abuse in my country. The kids are not growing well and are sickly. :O
Did you miss the part where he spends hundreds of thousands of dollars and plans to burden his family with his debts? What about his sisters' dream? They're both legit concerns, imo.

for the flying guy: Please learn physics! -_- I mean the bones of a bird are hollow and are therefore able to weigh light enough to fly. If Humans wanted to fly we at least need a length that is multiple times longer than the length of a body. you also have to calculate your weight into that and the weight of the construction. Humans will never fly in the same way as a bird, unless a wonder happens. And I don't even study physics and I know this much, this means he didn't do any research at all. Although not everything what I say is exactly correct (I don't have a source) just watch science of stupid (a programme XD)
I could kiss you right now. I was thinking the same damn thing. Like first the structure of a bird or any flying animal's bones is thin and hollow and constructed in a way very different from ours and that dude's contraption. Not only that but the was a bird's feathers are layered help with movement and flight not just that their beak and head shape and position play a very great deal in this flight process. The fact that its obvious that this guy didn't even make his thing look anything like a bird's body hell even a plane's structure should tell someone something. Like physics, environmental sciences and biology are here for a reason. I believe that everyone has a right to dream because that's what makes great people. The only problem is that the thing that separates great people from the fools who dreamed is that they work and think things through

if i were to have a dad like that first person who complaint, i wont be surprise if i actually run away from home. that guy is total nuts. everyone has got different sleep cycle and he expect all of them to all sleep for only 4 hours. especially kids. Kids usually need at least 8 to 9 hours of sleep. that man is crazy i say. cant help but to feel annoyed the whole time when he talks. i hope he sees my comment seriously. if you want to die, please die by yourself. dont bring your family down with u. tsk. and the fact that his job is just giving lecture at home. oh please.

Do you think that they should invite a pyschologist/scientist to be on this show?? Like just talking at the end of the show/each concern to give advices/scientific information needed? Because I see MANY of the concern are about selfish people, sometimes ppl with abnormal thinking and even pyschotic problems. Sometimes the show focus on things which is most fun to watch, not most serious.
+Mai Hoa Nguyễn i totally agree. during the first concern, if they only had a psychologist there, the husband could have been told the importance of sleep and how youngsters especially are supposed to get more hours of sleep than adults. if he sleeps less that 7hrs a day for three days he is at risk of developing diabetes, and hormones including those affecting his frontal lobe (aka decision making/self control) and his digestive system (aka he doesn't release the hormone telling him he's full) are highly affected. correlation does not equal causation so although when he started sleeping 4hrs things got better for him, that does not mean it was due to his sleeping habits. also obviously the fundamental problem is his selfishness and lack of empathy so that could be easily addressed?? once i even saw someone with narcolepsy be posed as a concern on this show, but since there was no psychologist/medical profession present no one even mentioned that it was narcolepsy and he should see a doctor.
ddalbutt I totally agree. What on earth is wrong with the people in the audience who weren't voting?? If it was me, I would have to leave that man for the sake of the children. So selfish and lacking in basic knowledge of how the human body works.
first concern: This is what you do.. take some heavy-hard-to-break chains, bound him to the bed. Tape his mouth. Put a blindofold on him, cover him with a blanket, so he wont catch a cold, set the alarm to how you want it, and then go to sleep. He's chained so the bed wont be shaking too much, when he wakes up at 1am or 2am. Eventually he will get used to sleeping for 8 hours a day.
Nora Syuk I thought the same thing! Why not just put something in his food or drink?? I think the audience didn't pick that story because the kid was still 1st in his class despite being sick and tired which is just plain wrong!

Han Tennis Gikwang cancelled in going since BEAST was busy preparing for a comeback around that time. As for Dujun, being the icon among idols when it comes to soccer, he sort of had to go. He was only there for a few days.

I'm not sure if you even need tickets. Now I don't know for sure how it works, or where you can sign up, but I think you can just show up to the place at the right time and they let in however many people they can accommodate for that filming. Now I still have no idea, but I say that because if you watch Human Condition, one of the episodes with the female cast, Shin Bora said she felt like going to music bank, and just walked right in with the film crew.

inspirit96 Is it? Do you watch eatyourkimchi? They went to a music show before, can't remember if they said how you get in, they even set up some interviews with groups. I can't remember who they interviewed, or I'd look it up and see what they say about it, but they have big audiences, I wonder if you just have to be first in line or you might not get in, that seems like the easiest way to fill the seats
4 hours sleep at night...does he even realize how bad that is for your health? especially their kids. They're young and still need a lot of sleep. His oldest is sick and you can see he's dead tired and he still holds onto the 4 hours of sleep. You need at least 6-8 hours a sleep at night. Those kids even a bit more. Poor kids. I hope it's all alright these days
For the last concern, it's good that he is being thrifty because he has a dream of buying a house what's bad is that he's taking advantage of his loved ones and it cost him his good relationship with them.. I really like what Kikwang said, "Friends and those around you are more valuable than money. They become your fortune later on." :D
If I was that lady my kids would be getting their sleep...first things first the electric piano would be gone, the work out stuff would be gone, and I'd give my husband some headphones and tell him if he wanted to be up go do something quietly so my sons can get their proper rest.

When the dad falls asleep at 8pm, wake him up every 10 minutes! Wake him up until he screams and hits you because he wants to sleep, and then get in his face telling him that's how you've felt for the past 1.5 years and it's going to stop. Now. However, it's Korea and the man of the house is not to be talked back to, so these "simple" solutions are actually very awkward and not in the realm of possibility for many. I've noticed a great many concerns involving fathers or husbands are purely because he's basically a jerk who knows he can't be contradicted.
The first concern made me want to punch the husband. It's ok if you want to just sleep for 4 hours and die early but you don't force that on to your family. They love you but they want their rest. I seriously thought this concern should have gotten more votes... The second concern made me very worried and frustrated. I didn't like how everyone was laughing at him but as long as he didn't take it in a negative way I'm ok. But he should actually try and research instead of doing it blindly. I feel bad for saying this but I would have checked him into a mental institution or something if he were my family. :( The third concern...sigh. It makes me sad to see people who treasure money like that. Maybe it's because I haven't actually earned my money(it is...) but with the allowance I get I like to spend it on others. I like buying people birthday presents or food just because I want to see them smile so this just might be because we have different views on how to spend money. Thank you for your time. Just felt like I needed to get this out of my system. :)

2nd concern. This man spends 3,000$ a month on this project. It would be wayyyyy cheaper to just go experience paragliding, hang gliding, sky diving, and wing suit flying altogether.
I feel really bad for the first family. The dad, in my opinion is crazy! Having only the oldest in elementary school too. And it sure definitely is hard for the youngest too. I could see the dark circles growing bigger on the poor kid's face. And about the early death, I think that even if he doesn't mind dying at an early age, he should at least care for his children, for they are much younger than him. He should take the advice given to him and sleep at least 7 hours and let the kids sleep in a bit later. It's one burdensome concern. Especially for health of young children.
I can't believe the family who couldn't even sleep for and adequate amount of hours did NOT win!!! I don't even know what's wrong with that audience? And secondly, coming from a family full of engineers... I really just laughed the whole time. Sure, he has some strong will-power (stubbornness) to keep progressing, but if he was really serious about it, he'd do some actual research. The fact that his man-made wings were 10kg, his figure (weight), and the material he used would result in nothing but failure. Which you all have witnessed yourself.
The concerns are very crazy, and I can see how stressed people can be having to deal with those people. But honestly, I don't like how the hosts just laugh at these people. I mean they obviously need help, and laughing at them won't do any justice. The hosts aren't real counselors or psychiatrists. If these people really believe in something that is harming themselves and/or their family, the family should seek professional help. Not celebrity help on national tv. I'm not saying I think these people are right in what they believe, but they do have feelings. And to be embarrassed and laughed at on national television could seriously trigger bad emotions.
Umm i think they know exactly what they get themselves in for when they apply for this show, it's been around for quite some time now and it's known for being an entertaining program ONLY for entertainment purposes. The whole counseling thing is just an extra that gives the show a feeling of being a counseling show. I agree that most of these people probably need some professional help but i also think they are sane enough to know that if they go to that program they'll most likely get laughed at, because the host MCs are well known comedians and as you said not real counselors. That's how korean entertainment works, and they don't look at it in a too serious way.

So yeah, pretty much they're being humiliated by someone close to them on national television. I don't think you seem to understand what I'm trying to say exactly. But hey, we all think differently.
I don't think we think that different but that depends on opininion ;) I also don't think it's alright to humiliate them but on this show the person with the actual problem is ALWAYS there sitting in the audience answering the MC's questions , and they go to the show on their own will. They don't do the problems of people who don't agree to appear on tv with it. So i'm only saying it's their own fault for presenting their "problem" so freely on such a show.
Every time that I watch this show, it makes me realize how differently people take certain problems and issues. During some of these concerts, it just makes me so irritated at some of these people!! One of the factors may be because I have the mindset of a person from an individualistic country so my opinions really differ from the hosts and guests sometimes, but on the other hand we have had many idols from North America as well so I'm sure that some of them have the same thoughts that I do too! The one person that I can think of right now who was able to get a word out was Amber from f(x) during one of their episodes. I mean what if the opinions given from a foreigner will change the situation for good? What if the advice given is just what is needed to help solve the issue? We will never know if they aren't being said! I'm sure that some other guests may have stated their opinions as well, but maybe have been edited out or they may have been told not to mention anything since they are idols and that they may ruin the "image" of S. Korea to the international audience. Ugh, it's just ridiculous. If I was to be a guest on the show, you can bet your money I would be stating my opinions and giving advice (Of course I would state them in a more mature way and ask the owner of the concern if it was alright if I gave them my opinion/advice as well). It's just very frustrating (but interesting) to watch this program and for some people not say some of the things that needs to be said. Instead most of these serious problems are being treated as jokes. What is this? The dormant version of the Jerry Springer show? All in all, it is very interesting to see what a few of the S. Korean citizens go through and what their concerns are in everyday life; however, it would be nice if some situations were handled a little better, but what do you expect out of an entertainment show with four comedians as hosts and idol guest stars. I wonder if S. Korea has a serious talk show where problems will slowly be solved with professional help. Something along the lines of Oprah/Dr. Phil/The Doctors/Maury? lol something of the sort, that would be very interesting too! Some of these people just needs some serious professional help though.
Wow first concern is a major problem! He's cutting away the health of his family! And he doesn't even care how rude and irresponsible as a dad! The second concern he us affecting his own health wanting to jump from 20 meters and he's basically saying his dream is more important then his sisters!!! The last guy is so stingy i would never be his friend it feels like a scam to be with him. Lee Young Ja is my hero in this episode. You can tell how infuriated she is at the father. As a certified armchair psychologist, I think the dad is a textbook narcissist. It's all about him. I know divorce is still taboo in Korea, but I hope that woman finds some way to leave him so she can raise her children in a healthy environment.

i think the father was seriously lack a lot of consideration. if you want to sleep for 4 hours, then go on. nobody is stopping you. but don't disturb others who are having their beauty sleeps. he was still rock-headed even after knowing that he might get premature death. i pity the kids though. i really can't help but thinking that the father was jealous that everyone is peacefully sleeping while he cannot sleep anymore after 4 hours. idk..
Right, a lot of people are working on this-scientifically and intelligently and there is a future for them. This guy does not know a single thing about birds or aerodynamics and refuses to gain knowledge because "too much knowledge is bad." He's just losing money and jumping around.

Honestly i don't think they should be dicks to him bc he has a dream beyond himself and his family; I honestly believe in him and I hope he gets to fly one day and that he makes more studies about it; If it's selfish to have dreams then we wouldn't have alot of things we consider normal nowdays. And btw the guy that said that was his friend was an asshole like why would you wish horrible things to happen to your friends dreams? that's not a friend.

2nd concern: It wont work becuase he needs hollow metals. The wings need to have "feathers" so he can shift and turn the wings in the direction of the wind.. I think he needs to study up on aviation before trying to fly. Like right now, he should still be in research mode.. not building and trying it out. Because those things will not work, the design is all wrong.. (lol like I know about flight, but I do know some things about flying) Also if he is going to be "experimenting" then he needs the proper safety equipment. Helmet, wrist pads, elbow pads, knee pads, a chin guard, many things, to make sure that he is safe while in "flight" XD I wont tell him to give up his dreams, because its "cute". XD but really, he needs to put more thought into this, before he really really hurts himself. Woah.. I wrote this beofre he said he had took out a huge loan! WOAH!! No, Dont Try to Fly Right now!! Worry about yourself and how you are going to survive with making losses each month!!
The wings are just wrong 1)The materials are too heavy, 2)The shape of the wings does not work 3) Birds don't flap their wings up and down, the actually push the air down in a bit of a slant. Even if the shape of the wings is perfect, he won't fly anyways because humans are biologically not made for that. 1)A human sternum is not strong enough to support the huge pectoral muscles needed (which he does not have) 2) His arms will get tired after just a few seconds of "flying" 3) Birds have hollow bones in order to make them as lightweight as possible. Our bones are way too heavy. 3) Birds have no bladders which means they don't hold on to any unnecessary weight unlike us. No matter what he does, this guy nor any human will ever fly with "wings" unless they meet those and other extra requirements.
I first watched this episode 1-2 years ago. I think this when I first discovered Beast and became infatuated with Gikwang's beauty. So happy for Highlight that they have their own company now and hope for a long, happy union once all the members get released from the military (Yoseop just got released recently!). It is sad seeing Junhyung here, being very funny and charming (even reminding me of my beloved Min Yoongi from BTS). But now longer part of the group because of his part in the creepy scandal with JJY. I hope the best for them all and hope Junhyung will reflect and become a more ethical person.
The guy that was concerned with his stingy friend is insanely handsome. On a more serious note, I'm really worried about the health of the first family. I hope she left him and took the kids.

Sometime I can't understand the audience or this show AT ALL. The father in the first concern was a SELFISH DOUCHE. All I hear was "I, I, I ,I.... I only need 4 hours, I, I, I....I like to play the piano at 2:30 am.(All I hear is "I" from him, not "we") He's a selfish idiot who can't put his family's needs over his own.....This is where I hope to GOD that all the concerns are scripted...All of it makes me lose faith in humanity....I love BEAST, but I CAN'T keep watching this episode......
After watching so many episodes of Hello Counselor, I'm glad I'm not living in S. Korea. Many kpop and K drama fans have illusion about Korean culture and society because of the fantasy their idols deliver on the screen. Now, I'll just continue to enjoy Kpop and K drama and be grateful for where I am.

Imo, the first concern is the worst among all. This episode is just one example implying incomprehensible mentality of many Korean people.
